I wish there were people with a soul as pure as jonathan's. he was such a great man, the definition of a perfect person. Jonathan should be the role model of all humans
Not only pure but STRONG. Plenty of pure weaklings and idiots out there, but Johnathan backed his goodness up with his fists lol taking him from a goody two shoes to a valiant knight.
I truly believe we can all try to be more like Jonathan Joestar: we may fall on the way, but as Jonathan taught us, what's important is to get back up and keep moving forward.
I have a theory that, since Jonathan started the tradition of Joestars being evil-slaying badasses, some of it can be attributed to the “Luck” and “Pluck” given to him by Blueford in his final moments... think about how many times Joseph’s luck saved him in his fights against Wammu and Kars, or how luck saved the Stardust Crusaders from Stands like Death 13 (Kakyoin just happened to be knocked unconscious with Heirophant so he could bring his stand into the dream) or that Star Platinum just happened to be the same stand type as Dio’s? Hell, it was a lucky break that both stopped Kira’s Bites The Dust and killed him off. I think that the Joestars have been blessed by luck in their battles by Blueford from above (I mean, Jonathan and George didn’t get a happy ending, but they’re exceptions, not the standard)
I'm sry but I still don't get that even after I watched all Jojo parts and trying to read the others Did Dio cry or what? Am I forgetting something? :')
Jonathan's theme is the definition of courage, strength, *honor,* sheer will and determination to keep on fighting, no matter how difficult may the path that life has chosen for you may be, for the sake of justice. No matter the difficulties you may encounter or how hurt you may become, the losses you will suffer, you must keep moving forward, for the sake of others. That's why he's the most honorable Joestar of his bloodline, because he never gave up on his will for justice. He brought *HOPE* to the world with his sacrifice, a hope that fulfilled it's purpose, 100 years later, through his great-grandson, Jotaro Kujo. He had no stands, no smart wits or the favors of luck. Only his hamon ability and his noble mindset to defeat DIO. And that's why, in spirit, *he was the most powerful Jojo to ever exist.*
The guy who made this AMV did an outstanding job, especially since he edited two songs together for it, and it really works. Part 1 doesn't really have a set "Jonathan's Theme" as much as it has a "Jonathan's leitmotif", which you can hear throughout the song and in the climax. The entirety of the first song is used in this AMV, but the big climax is taken from the second song: th-cam.com/video/PNLUXDn_S4o/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cpalTaoAuFscR7tv th-cam.com/video/66axmKycot0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=b_opOxJHXC8v-CBt
Dio ruined his life actually Made him spend his teen years alone Oh and actually he stole Erina first kiss, not her lol But anyway, that's not the most important fact Jonathan had biggest heart from all Jojo's He was able to love Dio even if he ruined his best years of youth Part 1 is wholesome and so meaningful, that I can't f*cking stand when someone skips it cuz it's "bored" U can't be a true jojo fan without seeing Jonathan life Jonathan and his heart made me to watch jojo more Lol I love him
Still my favorite Jojo. I love them all but Jonathan is ideal. He gives me more feels in less chapters than the others. I mean Joseph is hilarious and smart. He's a very good character. But Jonathan is THE MAN for me. Proud to be a Speedwagon irl.
The sword would have to be passed down. Those who are ignorant would view it as a cursed blade, when in fact it is actually blessed. It would be the only weapon to stop Dio, and his ultimate foil.
If Jonathan Joestar put Hamon in the pluck sword,i think this will really work, cuz even though the most sharp in the blade is broken,Hamon still can kill the vampire, like nichirin blade can kill ghost.
Jonathan is the Superman of JJBA. Not in terms of power but in his view on life. You can call him boring all you want but in the end what makes him interesting is how positive he is in spite of the troubles of the world. After all the pain dio brought to his life he still forgave him and still remained the kind hearted soul he was. Bro is the pinnacle of masculinity and the “I have no enemies” philosophy
He was perfect but I do want them to make an extended version of part 1 that would be like 18 episodes. Same story but more fights added on I'm the middle maybe
@@oltrizvanolli3493 maybe an alternative universe storyline where Dio is never rescued by the Chinese guy and gets to America, setting up an alternate part 2 where he can help train Joseph and Caesar directly
Jonathan really doesnt have that much character flaws, he is literally too good And for a writer it may get boring, cause that makes him predictable Thats probably why he made Joseph into more of a dick and underhand fighter, he was more fun to write, and allowed more creativity to approach other than "Thats not good yo, please stop it"
A true gentleman of his time. He carried his family name with honor and set the precedent that his descendants would follow during their lives. Unafraid to avenge any insult to his friends, his story is one of honor, family and courage. Strive to look death in the eye just as Jonathan did on that fateful night.
I always remember, that JJBA has one of the greatest ironies in anime. Because behind the EXTREMELY noticeable facade of happy-go-lucky times many people experience in JJBA, this anime at it's core is a tragedy. And that aspect of the show is so strongly emphasized in Jonathan's arc. Because Araki also didn't fail to show us the happy life the Joestar family could have had, if Dio didn't exist. JJBA has many many instances of things that could have been, where events or lives could have turned out better if it weren't for this certain character or event that came into play. I had a feeling that that's also why I felt like I could resonate with the show so well. JJBA represents a possible life that you, the reader or many people are living right now. Not the vampires, Aztec body builders, stands or stone masks, but where things could have turned out better for you, but they never did. Terrible things happened and people lost their happiness or even lives over things that didnt deserve to happen to them. But to me the every character of Jojo also chose to move on, despite the mistakes, despite the injustices, despite the consequences of people's actions. It doesn't matter if you're an honorable gentleman, stupid genius, brooding edgelord, brash teenager, young mafia boss, public masturbator, cripple, or four-balled amnesiac. Things happen that are completely out of control and it doesnt matter who you are, or whether or not people think you deserve this or that. Life is shit. Life happens. But guess what, all 8 Jojos moved forward. You should too. And that's what matters. You tread onward and never look back. And this is why Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, is a reference to life. Thanks for taking the time to read this and lemme know your thoughts if you want..

Want to know what's most incredible? Before learning hamon, before getting his power boost from Zeppeli, Jonathan was still strong enough to hold his own against Dio's vampire strength. Just sheer strength. Then his skill and determination plus Dio's arrogance allowed him to make up the difference.

In term of personality jhonny is almost as greedy as dio/diego, maybe this is why some people dont like him.But he had the perfect personality for his role, without his greed, he would not be able to become so powerfull and to stop valentine, I mean the dude shot himself in head for a little more power. What I dont like about johny is that he becomed extremely powerfull in the end, the infinity spin is a little to much, but nvn.
Jonathan is my favorite jojo. We see the most of his life, from a baby to his death. Sure he’s not a trickster like Joseph, sure he’s not a thug like jotaro or someone more morally grey like josuke. He’s a good guy who’s considered boring because he doesnt have some darkness to him, he’s a gentleman through and through. Jonathan made the best of everyone come through; take speedwagon for example. Speedwagon and dio were in the same position, except dio tried to succeed by hurting others but Jonathan sparing speedwagon showed him to believe in others and help them all they could. Dio died basically twice while speedwagon lives a happy life and his organization helped the joestar until the end, that was a change that only happened because of Jonathan’s shining heart. A good character isn’t one with the complexity of “are they good or bad”, a good character is one who does what they were made to do, which until his final breath he did just that. Even after killing so many people Jonathan hated what dio did, but as his brother he could never truly hate the man who ruined his life in every way.
If you think of It Jonathan lived the saddest live of ALL the joestars 1: he grew up without his mother 2:his father gived more adopted brother wich treated jonathan like shit 3:seen erina get her first Kiss stolen by his brother 4:seen his master die because of him 5:Got his dog burned by his brother 6:had his friends turned against him by his own brother 7: and Lost his body by his brother making the Future generations of joestars to never rest again causing more suffering to them and those around 8: never got to even meet his son and grandson But even after ALL that in the end of his life he still loved his brother Edit: please let me know If i missed anything
I love Jonathan for it, he could have given up or ran away to fight another day but he said fuck that to all that shit and moved forward to Dio, jonathan is the man of sheer will
@@zombiefried2363 I don't. I like the individuality of each part. Part 1 was perfect for what it was, and that's what makes it beautiful. Same for all the other ones.
Yeah, but it was so well written that each episode feels like half a series, making this first arc feel like about half the anime, with the second half of JJBA being the consequences of the first.
I’m on season three and Jonathan Joestar is my favorite. He has a heart of gold and will forever be remembered within me. Only having nine episodes, it was a great journey and I so wanted to see him with Erina where they grow old. I initially thought each season will be a different story but I was so wrong :,(. I can’t imagine how Dio took his body, it was an absolute violation. Repulsive loser.
The part starting at 2:55 is so beautiful and not talked about as often as the main part of Jonathans theme. The music changing with the violins to Jonathon envisioning the faces of his father, Bruford, and Zeppeli all just bring a tear to my eye.
Saying that discounts jonathan as a true man. You will never find a man more deserving of the title. He endured a tremendous amount of pain and loss, did what had to be done, and still cried because he ended the life of a man he loved as a brother.
Jonathan’s theme is more heroic than other Jojo’s themes in my opinion. The song often switches from a heroic tone to a more evil and darker tone, representing the battles of both Jonathan and Dio. In the end, the song dies down without a clear victorious tone or evil tone, signaling the end of Jonathan Joestar and Dio’s scheme being foiled... Until part 3.
>Beats DIO, a Vampire (albeit a newly created born one) without any Hamon, stand or luck. Simply with determination and intelligence (which his late son, George couldnt even do. Who had been studying Hamon for almost 30 years. >Beats Dio TWICE, now with them both mastering their new abilities fully. With Dio even having the home field advantage. Christ. Imagine if he had a stand, or was able to dedicate his life to Hamon. He'd make short work of the Pillar Men even if he became old.
@@Somethingwithoutatrace all might have a quirk jonathan doesn't and he doesn't have any stand or superpower he only needed training to defeat vampires and zombies
Honestly i hated it when main heroes would cry for the villian But for Jonathan, He's such a gentleman and a loving person that he sheded tears for the man who ruined his life. F for respecc for this muscle boy
To think that the very first fight in all of JoJo was basically just between two kids throwing fists at eachother. No hamon. No stands. No vampiric blood. Just two ordinary humans forever destined to fight each other. And despite that it would be a conflict that would endear over generations, and even across dimensions, and with powers capable of bending time and space itself. Truly an epic battle like no other.

Jonathan's Theme is heavely underrated and it is a piece of art. If there is a way to watch JJBA without watching it, it's by listening to this theme song. This theme has everything, an innocent beginning, a tense part, a heroic part, a villainous part, a climax, and finally a tragic ending.
Because he laid the roots of hamun or hamon (not sure how its spelled) in the joestar bloodline, and began the eternal conflict with vampires that the bloodline will face
@@mithril5155 and the fact that it is much widely known that Jonathan is on par with SP is just...astronomically badass. I still imagine Jotaro scared even after knocking Jonathan down.
you realize just how true the saying "not the hero we deserved but the hero we needed" is when Jonathan is called "weak" and "boring" after saving the world from a zombie apocalypse by himself
Jonathan is like a symbol. A symbol of greatness. A symbol of justice. A symbol of sacrifice. A symbol of bravery. A symbol that inspires his descendants to follow his legacy. He is our true JOJO.
Jeffrey Webb Holy shit, you're right. Then again, The World and Star Platinum are in a way similar, and since Jonathan's body had the stand ability before it was used in the storyline, it makes sense.
Malcolm Johnson The only character development in Part 3 was from Polnareff. And Part 2 focused only on Jojo and Caesar. You don't have to share the opinion, but if you think Part 1 is bad, you either have no taste or haven't read Part 5.
May I add input into this? I personally regard Jonathan as my favorite JoJo. I like him because of his noble attitude. He never gave up until the end. Part 1 may not add up to the other parts in your opinion, but you must at least give it some credit, because this part is something that really solidified what JoJo would be. Jonathan's the og, and you've gotta at least give him respect in that regard. Every part has it's flaws, whether they be fact or opinion, and that I think is one thing we may be able to agree upon.
Malcolm Johnson I personally think that part one could have been better, so I see where you’re coming from there. Some more time put into it and it would have been much better. It’s quality is understandable since its one of his first works, and also writers learn as they write, which makes later parts more well written. But the bottom line is that which part people like or what people think is best, is entirely up to opinion, but I see where you’re coming from and I understand.

Jonathan Joestar true true
Mr. Dropkicker I like that theory

The entirety of the first song is used in this AMV, but the big climax is taken from the second song:

Honestly i hated it when main heroes would cry for the villian
But for Jonathan, He's such a gentleman and a loving person that he sheded tears for the man who ruined his life.

We all loved Jonathan and a lot but his already perfect character doesn't really work in a long running anime . It's like playing a game where you have the strongest equipment from the beginning and oneshot everything. With one punch man and similar stuff there is a comedy factor and dumbness that make it entertaining but phantom blood was pretty serious compared to the rest of jojo and power scallings were clear . However starting of a game with an op character, or in this case perfect character protagonist , is great for introduction and story building,

Jonathan's Theme is heavely underrated and it is a piece of art. If there is a way to watch JJBA without watching it, it's by listening to this theme song. This theme has everything, an innocent beginning, a tense part, a heroic part, a villainous part, a climax, and finally a tragic ending.
I got chills from this theme,my fav
It really tells the story of Jonathan himself. The way it ends is utterly soul crushing.

Because he laid the roots of hamun or hamon (not sure how its spelled) in the joestar bloodline, and began the eternal conflict with vampires that the bloodline will face

Jeffrey Webb Holy shit, you're right. Then again, The World and Star Platinum are in a way similar, and since Jonathan's body had the stand ability before it was used in the storyline, it makes sense.
Phantom blood soundtrack is master piece.
Malcolm Johnson The only character development in Part 3 was from Polnareff. And Part 2 focused only on Jojo and Caesar.
You don't have to share the opinion, but if you think Part 1 is bad, you either have no taste or haven't read Part 5.
Malcolm Johnson Your favorite Jojo must be Part 3 Jotaro or something
May I add input into this? I personally regard Jonathan as my favorite JoJo. I like him because of his noble attitude. He never gave up until the end. Part 1 may not add up to the other parts in your opinion, but you must at least give it some credit, because this part is something that really solidified what JoJo would be. Jonathan's the og, and you've gotta at least give him respect in that regard. Every part has it's flaws, whether they be fact or opinion, and that I think is one thing we may be able to agree upon.
Part 1 siker
Malcolm Johnson I personally think that part one could have been better, so I see where you’re coming from there. Some more time put into it and it would have been much better. It’s quality is understandable since its one of his first works, and also writers learn as they write, which makes later parts more well written. But the bottom line is that which part people like or what people think is best, is entirely up to opinion, but I see where you’re coming from and I understand.
