We went to Pizza Hut one night and had a Mexican pizza for the first time. There was a Juke box there, and someone kept playing "Urgent" over and over. It was new and I loved it!! That's the memory I have everytime I hear it. We've been married 41 yrs now. Seems like yesterday sometimes. Other times it seems like a lifetime ago. Thank you for sharing! ❤️

That being said, I don't think you really missed the mark with your suggestion about this could have been a song that Michael Jackson could have joined the band on. He has the right tone and certainly could have matched the energy of this song. Can you imagine see either version live?
For the video, they had a member sax-sync the part. In the actual recording that you hear, it's Motown veteran Junior Walker playing one of the very, very best tenor sax solos in rock history. It's scorching hot! Just like feelings that the lyrics evoke.That's why Urgent is my favorite among all the great Foreigner tunes. As to MJ, this is a song he would have done a phenomenal job on. But having him and Lou Gramm both on the mic would have been problematic I believe.
