Jukebox Hero is grate and probably their biggest song but I would have to include "Blue Morning Blue Day" and the self entitled "Double Vision" as my favorite tracks along with "Hot Blooded" But Foreigner 4 really is a crushing album.
When I was 11, just a year or so after my dad died, mom came up to me after school and said "tomorrow, you are going into band, and pick an instrument and you are going to take lessons. " I didn't want to do what mom wanted, but I went to my room, (shut the door with some dissent) and turned on the radio. This song was playing. I heard the solo and went to school the next day and told the director, SAXOPHONE. I played sax and then trumpet until I graduated in concert, marching, and jazz bands. Then I heard Stevie Ray Vaughan and got a guitar. Now I play sax, trumpet, piano, guitar, bass, harmonica, and a little bit of everything. That was back in 1981
I started to learn classical piano at the age of 6 as I had been playing at home just by ear and my parents thought that I was some musical prodigy. I did exams at the Conservatorium and also, played in public when I was 11. But by the time I was 13 I had discovered boys, and that was the end of that. I kick myself now, I could sight read any music and now I have forgotten it all decades later. I do miss it, and still play my air piano to music 😂
Ahhh a fellow musician lol. In grade 6 i was given three choices for an instrument. Drums sax and baritone and i was what the bleep is a baritone...i found out since that was what was given to me. I took that horn and gave it everything i got from public school to high school all the way to the military. I think your dad gave you the inspiration to be your best and you wanted to make him proud. You succeeded and im sorry for your loss but keep it up
Amazing luv the faces you pull lol. Deffo gotta be "JUKEBOX HERO" " DIRTY WHITE BOY" "HOT BLOODED" "WAITING FOR A GIRL LIKE YOU" so many amazing songs to choose from. Such a classic rock band ❤❤❤
1981 Foreigner Urgent came out in 1981.... Ya gotta remember in 1980s ...we were led to believe the world would end with Nuc Bombs between US and Russia... so live party experience life before its gone with a push of a button I loved growing up in 70s and 80s music was real and incredible!!!
That's Mark Rivera in the video. He regularly played saxophone for Foreigner, and played the basic saxophone parts on "Urgent". Junior Walker played the solo on the recording of "Urgent", which is heard in the video.
I saw them during the Head Games and Agent Provocateur tours. They were *awesome*! Only original member in the band now is Mick Jones. Not the same without Lou's vocals.
Lead singer Lou Gramm was a DJ for many years at KOME radio in San Jose, CA. I used to listen to his morning show every day. He can still sing pretty much the same to this day and is still doing gigs here and there. One of the greatest and most recognizable voices in rock n roll.
@@iluvbacnotan7977 .. Actually you're right. My bad. I'm thinking about the time when he sang Midnight Blue with the in studio morning time band, who my childhood friend was a member of at that time..
Juke Box Hero is my all time favorite Foreigner song. It’s rock in’! Urgent and Juke Box Hero came from Foreigner 4 released in 1981. My youngest son was born in 1982 and I used to rock him to sleep with that album. 7 years later they came to town and JBH was his favorite song. So at 7 yrs old and my oldest at 12, Foreigner became their first concert. All my 7 yr old could say was are they going to play JBH. I promised him they would play it and they did. He was so happy.
This band was Phenomenal, along with the other beasts from those days: Journey, Boston, Chicago, Styx, Supertramp, and on and on. We were spoiled for sure. Love your reactions brother!!! Keep them coming....😊😊😊
Foreigner didn’t like I wanna know what love is !! This MY FAVORITE!!! The lead singer got a brain tumor and had to quit but came back for their reunion and took to the stage and mic!
Absolutely LOVE Foreigner! They had soooo many good songs, hit after hit! The sax solo in this is one of the best ever! In any song ! It was not the guy in the video but a famous black sax player...his name has slipped my mind. Story goes while they were recording ti's song they felt it needed something more. Heard this guy was playing near by in town and asked him to add something and this is the great pc he came up with!
Foreigner "4" was a MUST have album back in my junior high years along with "Back in Black" by AC/DC. If you didn't own the album, 8-track or cassette, you were not in the "know" musically. lol
Lou Gramm (Louis Andrew Grammatico) in my book, had one of the greatest and most recognizable, voices in rock music history. Foreigner was a monster of incredible stuff!
This brings me back to the 80’s . My best friend had one of the boom boxes and we would blast this song and many others..,, 😂great times . Foreigner was it during high school. Lol ready to blow .. you’re killing me . Lou Gramm voice is undeniably great .
Why does everyone now make fun of the saxophone? That's not even a regular sax, that's like a baritone sax or whatever. I was first chair trombone out of 2 trombone players in 7th grade, someone had to be, wasn't that I was good at it, there were 20 sax players, different sizes and shapes. I think we need more sax players.
Another banger from Foreigner: Hot blooded. Plus they got a lot of hits: Juke box hero. Double vision Waiting for a girl like you. Blue days, blue nights I feel like the first time.
Ooooo...love this song! Haven't heard it in a long time! I just added it to my spotify, forgot all about it...another GREAT song by them is, "Say You Will, " that I just saw on there...and wow...that's actually my fave by them! So thanks!
LOL...still amazes me how you like the music I grew up on and you like it. Not only that you normally get the meaning of them...not always but close. Welcome to our music world.
You'll love these guys even more when take the hit to your ears that is the song DIRTY WHITE BOY. As much as you are all over the sound lyrics, this right up your alley . CANT WAIT, DOUBLE VISION, and FEELS LIKE THE FIRST TIME are waiting in the wings for ears. If you need another lovesong from Foreigner, WAITING FOR A GIRL LIKE YOU should do the trick. Keep going and enjoy
Loving your genuine reaction. The 80s soundtrack to my formative years. Just great music n Foreigner just one great band. Thanks for making me laugh im so amazed that you missed out on the greats of many eras. I thank my late dad for passing on appreciation of many genres. Watching your exptessions n commentary so entertaining n thanks for making me laugh n cry usually at same time!
Went to Day on the Green concert in 82, Oakland CA. Foreigner was in the line up. I Don"t remember much, so long ago, they were pretty new. I love Foreigner!
Our house rocks...according to your banger playlist, we only play bangers here...thank you, i enjoy watching you enjoy something i have always had, and i am beginning to think i have taken a lot for granted...
Foreigner was all rock in the 70's they scaled the band back and started easing into pop into the 80's that's how they made the video with stop photography.
I never was shocked by this song back when it was popular. Now that I am listening to it closely and watching your facial reaction, I get how wild it is !! I was just always happy if a song was great to dance to and this was in that category. Youth. 9-1-1 "what is your emergency?" Caller "It's Urgent!" 9-1-1 "Sorry sir, what is the nature of your emergency? " Caller " I need you right away!" 9-1-1
Feels Like The First Time is another great ballad and their song Waiting For Girl Like You, that song is a softer song like I Wanna Know What What Love Is. It's so good. You can't go wrong with Forgienor!
Foreigner is an amazing band. Lou Gramm came from my hometown of Rochester, NY so it was great to see him become so successful. This is a fantastic song! Rocking! Check out "Juke Box Hero". Sax player on this is the legendary Motown Sax Player Junior Walker. He is not in this video but the dude's sax playing is amazing.
SPELL BINDER LIVE 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🤘 Some classic foreigner my first concert 70s🎶 I mean it's all good 👍 just being able to watch the transformation of one of your favorites is awesome to be able to do it and feel like watching your reaction too I always love ppl to try a listen to what I'm hearing watch them enjoying it is great 👍 love watching 🎶
They have so many more great songs! Jukebox Hero, Hot Blooded, Double Vision, Waiting for a Girl Like You, Feels Like the First Time, Headknocker, Starrider, I Have Waited So Long, The Damage Is Done. All great! They have other good songs too!
Lou Gramm's voice is a banger in itself, but he also has a softer side which you obviously know from your two reactions. My favorite song of theirs is "Waiting For A Girl Like You" which is another ballad which I think you would enjoy. For more of what you just heard I recommend "Double Vision" and "Dirty White Boy".
"Jukebox Hero" "Hot Blooded" both a must 💯
Jukebox Hero is grate and probably their biggest song but I would have to include "Blue Morning Blue Day" and the self entitled "Double Vision" as my favorite tracks along with "Hot Blooded" But Foreigner 4 really is a crushing album.

I loved growing up in 70s and 80s music was real and incredible!!!
9:20 -Sax player is Jr. Walker, who beforehand played on half the hits at Motown from 60 -71, and also had his own no 1 around 65 with "Shotgun"
Yep that sax player is burning it up🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That's Mark Rivera in the video. He regularly played saxophone for Foreigner, and played the basic saxophone parts on "Urgent". Junior Walker played the solo on the recording of "Urgent", which is heard in the video.

The legendary Junior Walker.
Early Foreigner stuff was so much better than when they turned the ballads in the 80's
Great song. Love Foreigner.

"Waiting for a Girl Like You" is a really good Foreigner song, with a similar feel to, "I Want to Know What Love Is."
