- Here we are, at the 50th episode of Creepy Bad Endings, and I'm very honoured to feature today's game for this special occasion. Thanks to everyone for their continued support of this series, and here's to the next 50 episodes!
Bad Endings. I don't know about anyone else, but they terrify me. Just when the hero(es) thought everything was finally right, just when it looked like peace had finally returned to the world, something happens that, at best, creates a bittersweet victory and, at worst, spoils everything and the enemies win, despite everything that happened throughout your adventure.
Bad endings don't give you any second chances, you screwed things up for everyone and you must pay dearly...

When you said that Corvo would do anything to protect the Empress and her daughter, my immediate reaction was, "They're goners."
What's incredibly creepy about the worst ending is that it feels less like the Outsider is talking to Corvo and more like he's talking directly to the player.
How to be Corvo

It´s amusing to see that the bad endings of this game doesn´t give you the feeling that you´ve done horribly wrong, instead showing you Corvo´s appearance and the Outsider´s final thoughts...

The best ending is really happy brings a tear to the eye... Too bad I'm bad at stealth... To impatient poor at memorizing and difficulty in predicting enemy actions but my current play through is going well so far so maybe there's hope for me

You know, I remember watching my brother play through the game, he went ahead with the evil route....and everything was fine, until the ending. Where he was about to save the girl, and he rushed forward to save her...but he ended up running to far and ended up falling off the edge.....To make matters even more stupid, the game crashed right after he died~....The game could not handle the fail. XD

I can't help but to find refreshing how this game doesn't stop at just penalizing you for killing people because it's immoral, but it also shows a genuine reason to think before doing so, since leaving more dead bodies will only sum the city further in chaos and the plague will only get worse
That's a really clever way to implement a morality system that involves killing, by showing how your body count does actually affect the world around you and those that you love

I might be mistaken, but I think there's one more High Chaos ending, that occurs if you kill moderate amount of people and has Emily as a good empress, but no golden age.

Like I showed on Skype, I predicted correctly why the rats were a damn problem, though I got more dismissive of the notion of the game making Lord Regent a Disc One Final Boss than I should have. Ah well.
And yeah, nice to see the game tell you to want to spare the baddies from early demises.

Have you played Terranigma and Lufia 2 for SuperNES? They could make good "creepy bad game endings". If you haven't played them, I would suggest them just because they were solid games

+Neon Skylight Yes, that's the part, and you can see Piero and Sokolov curing people in from the plague in the best ending , but I don't think they're there if you kill them.
+MegaYoshiX The easiest way is to use Bend Time and kill/knock Havelock before he can grab Emily. But if you don't have it, you can try hitting him with a bolt before he does. If he does grab her, kill him and quickly run up to Emily and save her before she falls.

Hey Git, I have a question about the game: I'm trying to do a pacifist run of the game, but does killing the assassins while protecting Jessamine and Emily prevent you from getting the achievement if you continue? If so, I'll have to do about 2 hours all over again
+ToxicPenguin I think it does. Sorry. (By the way, killing animals is okay, so kill any rats, guard dogs, etc.) But you can still get the best ending, the only thing you'll miss out on is an achievement.
whoisthisgit I just found out it does, but when I do a pacifist run I also wanna do Clean Hands, so I've turned into a High Chaos + No supernatural upgrades run. I can get the no supernatural upgrades one now so I can use them for Clean Hands

looking at the endings they clearly had no inkling of making dishonored 2 when they made the first part... guess it was going to be a self contained experience... or open to other characters as the outsider chose at random the people he wanted to gift...

Of course, I'm not saying this for bad endings...
But It's the best stealth game, in my opinion, because it's not so easy.

I've seen every single Creepy Bad Ending video before this one but this is the 1st time I can recall the Bad Ending not exactly resulting from tha player failing the game's main objective: You were given a choice to *NOT* kill everyone in your way but(unless that part was left out)it was never a *main* objective nor was curing tha plague/stemming tha rats' numbers - sure these are objectives which would prove prudent in tha long run but ignoring these altogether should be more like a dark spot on an otherwise successful mission whereas the true Bad Ending is Emily's untimely demise as seen here and/or the FULL-ON Creepy Bad End is that+Lord Regent still in power by the end|

Perhaps I missed something but it seems the "non-lethal" method of assassination is still lethal nonetheless because your target still dies...I'm unconvinced that poisoning em is somehow merciful next to stabbing em unless said poison is perhaps painless..unlike what we see Corvo go through with just a sip of poison in a full glass|

Keir Tanaka The actual nonlethal method for Campbell has nothing to do with the poison; instead you break both glasses and then shit gets real crazy.
Emily is a little girl and you are literally her only role model so when she finds that you're killing people she kind of gets the impression that she can't save people and instead has to kill everyone. Yeah.
Do Spec Ops: The Line. It's a third person shooter with a deep and sad story that has 4 endings.
No surprise that Havelock when down the path he did. Video Games have proven that if your name starts with an H and has "Lock" in it, you're probably gonna become a megalomaniacal supervillain.
Not enough games have systems like this (something like a sanity/moral system).
The only ones I know of are this game (now, at least), Undertale, and Eternal Darkness. There's probably more out there, but there aren't enough nonetheless.
Except Undertale went out of its way to make your life miserable if you try to go the "total killer" route. Instead of going for a bad ending, it gives you two absurd bosses over a simple bad ending. (Actually, anything that's not the True Pacifist is a bad ending in its own way.)

A think I don't life of this game is that Corvo looks a bit overpowered. I mean, you can teleport, control swarms of rats, slow time, etc... It seems like you are unstoppable. It doesn't help that there aren't bosses. I have not played it myself so I may be wrong.
About the history, it looks okay but I would have left the origin of the plague as a mistery or just as an event wich nobody is responsible for. I don't see how spreading a lethal disease helped the villain to control the city.

Screw sleep, it's overrated anyway.
My favourite stealth game is MGSV: TPP. With a lot of missions, they usually take about an hour to complete. With know-how? There's an assassination mission which on my first play of, took me over 2 hours. After about 3 different runs of that mission? S rank victory after not even 30 seconds. All because of a single pistol headshot from over 500 metres. The multiplayer on the game is rubbish though.
+Agent 005 Konami are being assholes a lot lately. To be granted though, and this is the only compliment they can get, the terms and conditions for the game are quite thought out. In other terms and conditions I read, there's lots of loopholes. This one, I only found a few, and they weren't very exploitable.

I hated this game. Any game that punishes you for killing people or not being stealthy is a game I hate. The early splinter cell games drove me nuts, and so did this game. Dues Ex was one of the few games that done stealth great, but didn't punish you for playing it like an action game.

I could swear I saw this video and commented on it a long time ago, but what I was saying about Dishonored years ago still stands: While I've heard of games that are worse... I didn't play those, so it's the worst game I've ever played in my life. Still, all these years later. I seriously can't think of one thing Dishonored did right, other than how blatantly the ad campaigns gaslighted people into thinking that not liking it made you a "fake gamer SJW." I remember watching TH-camrs like Markiplier and Jacksepticeye play it, and while they were being cartoonishly over the top with their praise verbally, their faces were "I am soooo bored, please let this game be short!".
Markiplier even dropped the act, and was all "Thank God it's over!" when he beat it, then he caught himself, and tried to act like he was upset they didn't explore any of the threads outside of one very narrow aspect of Corvo. That was hilarious.
It's also how almost everyone I know felt about the game. I remember one guy being over the moon that everyone was obsessed about Farcry 3 now, because he wasn't sure how much longer he could stomach pretending to like Dishonored to fit into the gaming community. And it's really saying something that so few people bought or completed the DLCs that they repackaged the plots for them into Dishonored 2, and no one noticed. But not nearly as much as that a lot of people hated Dishonored 2... Because it felt like playing Dishonored.
When a major complaint about a sequel is that it feels like a game from it's series, you know that gaslighting people into liking it is all you got.
