OOH I HAVE A GREAT STORY ON THIS some scientists were doing a study on dementia in the 40s and the memory altering capabilatys, the ww1 vet with dementia described that he was AT A LONG CAMPOUT IN 1916. Insane stuff
Dude just imagine if attempt 3 was on the actual record It would rival the beginning of stages 4 and 5 and the hell sirens in the pure level of "what the fuck"ness it would have, I love it
Attempt 4 and 6 just remind me of those "Man forgets he has alzheimer's, remembers everything" meme, they just completely switch genre away from trying to simulate dementia by forgetting what genre they're in, although attempt 6 feels like you remembered some stuff you *really* didn't wanna remember as a consequence
... I hear a song, a song through the trees, Ooh, Ooh, Ooh! A pine melody caressing the shore, Familiar to me, I heard it before... - Lullaby of the leaves, original samples of "Misplaced in time" and "drifting time misplaced".
It's kind of hard to upsample something like this "properly"... most people remaster the samples on their own, though proper hops value helps. It definitely understands that EatEoT vibe for the first few seconds at least, then goes somewhere else. To be expected with AI, but it definitely has a unique effect.
I've read Oliver sacks' book "the man who mistook his wife for a hat" and it's strange how people with some kind of neurological condition may perceive the world and act as a nowadays AI would. We are just machines, after all.
Attempt 1: Goes strong, fades off, and then picks up again, like a Minecraft song. 7/10 Attempt 2: It just never stops, even almost sounds like A3 at one point. 7/10 Attempt 3: Half strong, half dying pig. It coughs too. 5/10 Attempt 4: Just goes for a different theme altogether, immediately switching genres, to a ‘slower’ theme, before the “chattering” comes in, more like background noise. 4/10 Attempt 5: Keeps the theme surprisingly well, sounds pretty consistent, on a relative scale. Fades a bit into background noise at points, but a solid run. 9/10 Attempt 6: just fades instantly, like the End music of Minecraft, before picking up a loose tune again. Has the most shenanigans out of all of them, with a person FALLING DOWN THE STAIRS and enjoying it. 15/10 Update: It has only just now occured to me that as soon as the AI picks up, it almost immediately stops being all staticky and vinyl-y.
Attempt 2 sounds like Drifting Time Misplaced turning into ending of Stage 4. Btw, there should be more EATEOT songs continued by AI! It's good idea since this really feels like dementia. It's like patient remembering beginning of the songs but later he/she forgets how it went so he/she replaces forgotten parts of songs with fictional parts created by their dying mind.
Attempt 5 actually held up the rythm for plenty of the piece, then it devolved into droning. Interesting musical sequel to Lullaby of the Leaves, may I say.

Attempt 3 and 5 are really good Second half of Attempt 4 sounds like bits of AATEOTC stage 6 and a distorted version of the stage 3 version of this is romances lyrics The last quarter of attempt 6 sounds like bits of A2 but slowly turns into what sounds like a murder sence combined with Stage 5 of EATEOT with voices 7:58 to 8:31 to 8:40 sounds like distorted stage 5 bliss states

I like how attempt 2 is the last fully coherent attempt. Attempt 3 is mostly coherent until the end, then attempt 4 turns into a somewhat similar but different song. Attempt 5 becomes more muddled and empty, and attempt 6 ends with someone falling down the stairs not to mention that the song quite literally just stops right after the AI part starts transitioning into a whole new song all before the funny someone falls down the stairs part.
trying to make a story out of these upscaled songs attempt 1: the patient recalls a story he heard from around a year ago, he slowly stumbles through it, but as time goes on, he starts making things up as he has forgotten most of the story and ends up telling a totally different story. attempt 2: the patient is speaking to himself about the story, he has the first part nailed down, but he gets called to dinner, which interrupts his thoughts, and ends up never completing the thought. attempt 3: the patient gets a refresher on what the story was, but 2 days later, the remembrance of it suddenly vanishes, and he goes to teach at the school he works at, and he doesn't even remember the lesson plan, so they just do whatever comes to mind attempt 4: the patient remembers what the story was, but the movie he was watching suddenly caught his attention, and the music from the movie invades his mind, he can't even remember what the original story was, what the beginning was, what the end was. it's all gone. attempt 5: the patient has been put into a retirement home, where he'll stay, he listens to the story a last time before it fades. yet, he can't really focus. he has his eye caught on one memory. a memory of a party, but what was the party about? attempt 6: he was thinking of the story fine, but then a memory of his wife falling down the stairs and dying catches his attention. a lot of resistance is made to make him forget and not remember, but he ends up remembering the story, the patient then freaks out and has a mental breakdown. he then bashes one of the caretaker's head against a drum.
the end attempt 6 reminded me of those weird "[family member] is a skinwalker" things. and the guy with voices in his head pushes their "skinwalker gf" down the stairs and killing them.
Fact: In some cases of dementia, people are replacing forgotten fragments of memories with fictional.
