Honestly thought they thought for most of season 1 and 2 that the show was overhyped. They call it out for being stupid and Goff on it a lot. I think they finally get the hype. Still surprised their are Reddit post that the series is Mid and overrated trash bad writing etc. Like how could you watch this and not feel anything. Some people must be watching shows in the year 3000 and Not telling us

@@nichescenes I almost gave up in the beginning of s3 bc I couldn’t wait anymore with alll the suspense of how the titans came to be. When they introduced Kenny squad and attacks within the government and humans vs humans I thought for a split second “so are we just forgetting the whole build up with the titans and shit?” That’s the only reason I could see why people would not like it. They could think the build up is too long of a wait and don’t enjoy the slow burn. It wasn’t even that bad of a slow burn tho bc they dropped big reveals and plot points along the way
@@josh2x226 Yeah, the carrot on stick approach can annoy viewers as they get impatient...but eagle eyed viewers can see the hints and drops from episode 1 that basically tell you the story. Remember the ending pictures in one season tell you how titans were made and no one noticed for the most part. Anyway...I dont get how people wanna drop such a well produced show so quick but stick with filler time static shoots in one piece cause they wanna see what one piece is for 1000 episodes. Add to that , people say oh just read the manga...the manga hot take is slow too. I can read all of demon slayer and chainsawman in the time it takes to get through 1 arc in one piece and a min arc. Personally think people get negative impressions and watch popular shows with a harsher eye and overlook things cause they dont wanna follow the crowd and think the popular show is THAT good. lol. I do it sometimes and have to call myself out for it. Much like people right now saying chain sawman is mid after like a episode like really people like popular shows for a reason just spoil yourself if you can't wait but trust that people know what's coming and that it's good...lol.
@@josh2x226 season 3 part 1 is well thought of as hardest to watch even if it's good, at the time people just werent feeling it and the creator even said so and helped edit it down to be faster...sometimes i think people mistake faster for better to get through slow material but things can be fast and still boring. Also it seems S3 part 2 was done and brought up faster cause the declining interest imo...he likely wanted to input a bit more before that material and the reveal. Overall the series isn't that long, you can watch a 2 hour movie that sums up season 1-3, I think the show just has breathing room and annoys people who wanna see the reveals. to each their own.

I was so shocked at her reaction I started tearing up again too. 😄 The next episode is usually when the tears really get going (I have personally never been able to sit thru it without crying) but it'd be funny if she actually doesn't cry at all since she already vented her feels in this one.

When watching the beginning of S3P2 live, I realized that something sparked within me. I was an anime only at the time and time passed to when this episode (and the next one) aired. AOT became my favorite piece of fiction of ALL TIME!!!!! And nothing will ever change that. LONG LIVE ATTACK ON TITAN.

We all cried during this episode. I still think its the best of the season. Levi was in God Mode, and they took the biggest W of the series so far.
18:12 It's actually the 2nd highest rated of all time, second only to Breaking Bad's "Ozymandias". Both legendary episodes of TV.
Yet people still hate on the series and call it trash lol. What do those people watch. Imo if you call a show trash you must state what you prefer and why so I can tell if your opinion is irrelevant to my taste. My 80 year old whatever wouldn’t like AOT and would call say Breaking bad boring for example. Doesn’t mean their opinion is wrong just not important to most fans.

Levi "I'm not trapped in here with you, you're trapped in here with me" Ackerman, BBQ Armin, I Bertolt you what I Bertold him, Reiner The Plot Armored Titan, Final Girl Floch. Everyone had a role this episode. This is what they call a pyrrhic victory. The scouts won the battle. But they were reduced from a few hundred people to being in the single digits. The costs were great.

RANA WHAT SHOW HAVE YOU BEEN WATCHING?!
In her defence though, the Monkey Titan had been absolutely scratch less until this point of the show. No one had been able to even touch him ( on-screen ).
There's also a small scene where it was indicated that the Monkey Titan even squashed the insanely powerful Armour titan in a fight !
For all we know as people watching AOT for the 1st time, this ( so far ) seemingly invincible Monkey Titan might even be the ultimate final boss of this entire series who can only be taken out by the protagonist/main character of this show.
On the other hand, Levi seemed to have somewhat of a tough time against Anne's titan while he was teaming up with Mikasa to get back Erin.
It's fair to assume that Monkey Titan could very likely be a waaay tougher challenge than Anne.
While it was obvious to everyone that Levi is brilliant and can easily annihilate multiple regular titans in a matter of seconds before this episode, there still wasn't much evidence that he could actually take out a super high level Human-Titan until this point.

Though we never saw the beast go face to face with any scouts. He took out a bunch from a distance and was able to get the drop on Mike but Mike wasn’t prepared for him. He did defeat Reiner but he’s gotta be way more familiar with him
But then Reiner was probably familiar with the Monkey Titan too so that factor would go both ways.
While he indeed didn't have a 1 on 1 altercation with any of the scouts, the show making it look like the Monkey Titan absolutely destroyed Reiner who was himself a very strong Human Titan sure makes it look like he's one of the ( if not the ) strongest Human Titan around.
Levi looks invincible against regular titans too but the 1 time he had an altercation with an actual Human Titan in Annie, he seemed to have a very tough time.
Sure, there were certain reasons why Levi had a tough time against Annie but those reasons are depicted in a very subtle way and are only clearly visible on the hindsight after we see Levi dominante the Monkey Titan and then re-watch his altercation with Annie.
I think the writer very smartly and deliberately created an aura around the Monkey Titan and made Levi look vulnerable against Annie so that that almost all of us fans count him out like Rana and then give us a huge surprise when Levi actually ends up beating the Monkey Titan, that too by completely dominating him.
I honestly watched this video just to see their reaction to Levi slaying the beast titan. Even thought he didn't kill him, Levi made him fear him after this.

Armin was never even close to being one of my favorite characters but this episode absolutely made me tear up. Not because of the person though, because of the act.
Id have to agree, from this point on armim became a complete badass

And I was so naive because I thought that the situation can"t be any sh*ttier than this till what comes next...
Oh boy, this episode is always a treat to see people get to. This whole arc is so intense, it's like an emotional tidal wave with the twists and turns because it really does feel hopeless, and the price paid to turn the tables is unreal. There were 100 Scouts at the start of the mission, and as far as we know right now there's 8 left, of which one has lost an eye and another has injuries that make them combat ineffective. No wonder they fed them meat to raise morale - it was basically a last supper for 92 of them.
Meanwhile:
Beast Titan: "Man these guys aren't shit, all they have are smoke grenades. I thought Reiner and Bertholdt said there was a tough guy in here."
Beast Titan 3 minutes later: "FUCK FUCK FUCK GUYS KILL HIM WITH FIRE HOLY SHIT WHAT WAS THAT"
Bertholdt: "Armin, are you SURE you want to be BBQ?"
Armin: "Yes, don't worry though I've got someone else coming to cut the meat once we're done cooking."
Season 3 part 2 is still my favorite arc of AOT. Season 4 is amazing, but something about every episode in this arc is just on another level.

Considering we see him do stuff nobody else does that could actually be true in universe. Maybe his titan isn’t just armor but survival/endurance in general. The titan who can survive what others can only dream about.
The "transfer consciousness" power (and other stuff we just haven’t seen yet) could be specific to his titan while the armor is just the most obvious feature.

Hero fun fact no 1: Levi killing the beast titan took 4 months to make a 50 second sequence, 1 month story boarding and 3 months for each frame to be drawn by hand. The goal was for that scene to be iconic... and it is.
