He was like "Why are you attacking me?!" And the scouts had like an Elle Woods moment saying "What? Like it's hard?"

He got humbled. He gave up when eren ate the warhammer and then after the paradis attack he killed himself after eren beat his ass again.
He literally mocked Reiner and he was even worst
He treated Reiner like shit for failing the Island mission... But when he faced the "Devils" that Reiner faced, he didn't lasted for minutes and was about to get killed but got saved multiple times by multiple people's... Meanwhile Reiner being totally alone in battle in Island and it felt like impossible for scouts to defeat him... Reiner is The greatest Marleyan WARRIOR.

Imagine being so goated that the enemy already knows who you are just by your actions. That’s Levi for you.
His reputation precedes him. I mean he gave Zeke PTSD. Maybe Marley had a Powerpoint presentation solely about Levi in their military academy.
they’re so cautious to no avail, being expected and remaining unexpected especially when the enemy isn’t some bumbling fool is such powerful character writing.

I love Porco's reaction because it perfectly shows how feared titans are outside the Island. Nobody dares to make face to them. Yet the Paradis people have strive along them and come on top. Those were soldiers bred to kill titans.

I love the fact that everyone in Marley underestimated people in Paradis. By calling them devils they somehow dumbed them down too, they never expected them to use intellect, to be smart, to be inventive.
I think that's the whole reason for the whole downfall and end result. Since the beginning, when Reiner and cia broke the wall, they never thought people inside would be analyzing the situation. They underestimated the fuck of Paradis.

Doesn't it reflect our real world too? When we don't know about other nations or we feel it's away from prosperity, we tend to underestimate them and think that they aren't intellectual or have skills like we do.

I would say that Galliard more scared than confused. When he called them "devils of island" he didn't mean it as insult like how eldians are normally called, but as actual devils
It was a very rude wake up call for him.

I always wondered if the secret Tybur/Fritz treaty included the exile and titanifying of prisoners to the island. The King Within the Walls erased their memories, but the Coordinate holder never seemed to think of squashing the Paradisians' curiosity.
The mindless titan exiles sure kept the Scouts from ever escaping the island, but it's odd to think how different it all would've been if there were no Scouts to begin with, and no one ever figured out how to fight titans in the first place.

I always thought it was because King Fritz believed his people should know the terror of the titans and experience it as a punishment for what they did to others before. But he still did seem to want his people in the walls to live 'in peace' so why would he do that? I wonder if he always intended for his people to live freely someday.
Well for that matter the interior police were kinda doing it on the king's behalf, not letting curiosity get too much out of hand - shooting down the hot air balloon, detaining Erwin's dad and so on. In a way these police and phoney king officials certainly knew things or what they have to do. Wall sect included.
Also the fact that marlyeans sent eldians in a pure titan form to the walls is what made eldians within the walls that good at fighting them for 100 years. If only marleans chose a trope of assimilation of left on the land eldians instead of punishing them, paradis people would’ve never learn how to fight titans in a first place. Marley already controlled 7 titans by that point, their own desire to revenge brought them to what will happen next.
Now Armin, the little innocent boy that we knew most likely has the biggest kill count in all of aot.
It's sad that many in the fandom still see him as innocent. Completely missing what he's done. Edit:Yall gotta stop @ me i get it bro. I was just saying armin is treated like some innocent boy when he actually is a more in depth characterer than what a lot of his fans usually treat him to be

The new gear also uses an average standard issue size with a certain max and min the outfits can fit, Levi is just under the min size so it fits slightly larger on him and he doesn't prefer it as a result.
@@CarterAndrus I’m not sure about that one either! But I do know that Isayama confirmed, Levi actually went all the way back to Zhiganshina by himself when it was finally safe to, to retrieve Erwins’ bones.
Levi’s a real ass homie. He went all the way back to PTSD trigger ridden territory so he could bring his buddy back home ✊🏻😔. 🐐ed and that’s 📠
I was so hyped to see reiner get up with that different armor at the end of episode 7 only to realise later it was a degrade rather than upgrade.
That's bcoz his energy is low that's why no Armor in his Titan form
@@XebecX I saw another theory where it's because the use of the titan form must have a goal and the will to execute it. Reiner at that point in time did not have the will to fight, as he stated earlier he was tired of fighting. But his instincts kicked in because he did want to protect Falco and Gabby, giving him enough power to do so, but not enough to win a fight.
@@iroam5397 I believe that theory. Just like in season 1, Eren only had to transform an arm to pick up the spoon, and a mangled half-body to protect his friends.

Just look at 28:25 when they're begging for her to not have a sudden power up. They know these trops well but AOT most of the times subverts them in a positive way; that's why they're not getting frustrated by it.

It’s funny to see how in the first season when they first got introduced to Levi, they (Cannon and Carter) were like “oh this guy’s pretty badass”, but now, 4 seasons later when they truly know and understand Levi’s badassery they’re like “YOOOO *screams* *cheering* *screams*”.

I don't know if anybody noticed, but if you find 24:36, you can see that the Peak's comrade who was killed by Sasha kept their teem's group photo in his cabin... Maybe no one cares, but this makes me so fkn sad right now... The fact of how Peak and her crew were so dedicated to each other, and them loving her regardless being an Eldian. Same story with those two marlyan guards (killed by Sasha as well lol) who were trying to protect Gabi. Even when I was watching these scenes for the first time, I felt so bad for all these guys. I just can't hate them.. none of them.

It’s sad, but it’s definitely nice to see that at least some Marleyans saw them as more than Eldians, but as normal humans, and as their friends. Even to the point of caring for them. Like those guards to Gabi. And we can even see it later on with General Magath caring for Gabi as if she was his own daughter. It was never explicitly said or shown but you can just tell he truly cares for all of them! ❤️
@@natalybasora9769 yes, it’s always weird hearing people say that everyone hates the eldians (whether they’re from the island or not) or everyone deserves to die when we got the panzer unit, the Azumabitos, Onyankopon, Nicolo, Magath, the guards, Reiner, Falco, Gabi eventually. They aren’t there for no reason.

If you notice, Ackerman sounds like "akuma", which means devil in Japanese. The shot when the scouts were surrounding Porco and then he said devils (akuma) of Paradis while Levi Ackerman comes into the picture is one of the best shot in this series.
If you didn’t notice Armin’s Colossal Titan doesn’t have ears like Bertholdt’s did. I wonder if that was a style choice by Isayama or if it’s because he doesn’t want to hear the sounds that his destruction causes 🤔
I've read somewhere that he doesn't want to hear the sounds of people crying and suffering ( not sure if this is true or not )
I think the second one. It has been clearly told in the series that titan shifters appearance resembles their personality.
I heard somewhere that it was a character flaw from isayama but people are speculating it's because he didn't wanna hear the cries of his victims

Not to say, it doesn't have flaws, nothing is perfect but many are made up. Like my friends used to say about the naming of the first episode being so out of context before the to you 200 years ago ep came out

Eren using Porco’s Jaw Titan as a nutcracker to eat the War Hammer Titan was absolutely brutal and menacing. One of the craziest episodes yet.
Porco’s body was abused and violated, can’t compare to a sexual assault of course but it definitely felt like one for me.
I think my favorite thing about these guys is that they don't have a schedule. They just post when the video is done. Makes watching them a lot more entertaining when u get reaction after reaction.
They do have a schedule but it's daily. They've already caught up and are filling out Season 4 with 1-2 eps at a time. I really appreciate that they aren't dragging it out to milk it
They are posting 1-2 episodes each day not including weekends so it is technically a schedule
I really like that Carter commented the fact that this is exactly a parallel of the first episode of the show.

Also, everyone's hype when the Scouts reappeared made me feel like I was watching this all over again. 🔥 That part will always be so cool, especially Mikasa, Sasha, and Levi's entrance.

i remember being in a constant state of hype and also being so torn during these episodes. i felt so bad for all the innocent civilians and i understood both sides, scouts and warriors. i was more attached to the scouts obviously but i pitied the warriors because they also didn't have a choice and the people who just wanted to protect their home
When I first saw I felt like I had a lead in my stomach. First I didn't like the fact Eren chose the attacking point in the middle of the town. The attacking point should have been the military facilities where the titan shifters on the Marley side will eventually come to defend their port.
This is a big debate within the fandom--are you a Jeagarist or not? I figure most people reacted one of two ways; either they were shocked and mortified by Eren's cruel assault on Liberio, or they found it enormously satisfying to witness, as he was simply returning the favor to his enemies. I firmly believe that if you are Jeagarist, you are simultaneously proving and missing Isayama's point.

Thank both Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto for the soundtrack. Sawano’s been making this show’s music since the beginning, but Yamamoto was also brought on for the final season.
Their musical styles sound kinda the same, but I’m fairly certain that music playing during Levi’s grand entrance was composed by Yamamoto.
Also nice to see they had no real thoughts on the cgi. I still remember the shitstorm that caused online.
I can tell the score here is different than what we have heard before in tone so I would believe it was from Yamamoto, but it gives me CHILLS hearing it!!
that ep really solidified the fact that eren's just too far gone, even mikasa was looking at him differently.

Porco's reaction to the Scouts is my favorite moment in the series I think.
I always feel bad for Galliard in episode 6 because he didn't experience how they fight within the walls and he's never been totally overpowered by people. He's used to cannons and people fearing him, not fearless, flying people that don't give you a second to breathe.

The reason birthcontrol's transformation was different in season 1 is because he has more experience with it and can control it. He obviously didnt want to blow up the wall and release one of the wall titans so thats why he transformed without an explosion
Also I remember the flashbacks, the nuclear bomb is like the releasing steam barterholder used, except you do it all at once during transformation.
Yeah, burnttortilla and reina were on a recon mission and couldn't afford to just blow up a thousand people who all could've potentially been the coordinate. Smart decisions by both to not overplay their hand.

I'm just remembering why, this is my most favorite anime ever.
This is literally peak, NOTHING can or will EVER get better then THIS ARC of THIS SHOW
It's interesting that you guys were at least at this point so strongly sympathetic to Eren and the Scouts. I watched these episodes as they came out, so there was a year+ gap since Season 3 (though I was thinking about it all the time lol) and only one Marley episode per week. That meant I had 4 or 5 weeks to just sit with the Warriors as the main characters, and over that time I ended up gaining a huge amount of affection for them (especially FalGOAT and Reiner). Then in Declaration of War I thought (and still think) that Reiner was really admirable with his honesty and refusal to accept that he had 'no choice' with the initial attack on Paradis.
So when these episodes rolled around I was extremely torn, and Eren's killing of civilians in particular meant that the hype was mixed with a profound sense of horo and dread. I actually think this combination made the episodes even better for me artistically - the emotional ambiguity combined with the crazy events gave me something that even the peak Return to Shiganshina episodes didn't.
I didn't care for the Warriors. Reiner, even having redeeming qualities, is still a Marley's dog who does their bidding. Pieck has no redeeming qualities. She is full on drinking Marley's cool-aid and would sell her own mother to Marley.
I don't care for Porco. He is same as Pieck and he is annoying.

Only Falco is actually someone who I cared about, because he wasn't full on drinking cool-aid.
Magath and Tybir literally endangered Eldians for the sake of the power play.
There is almost no one to cheer for amongst those characters.
@@Wlof25 Do you not know how indoctrination works? The Warriors are still victims to Marley whether or not they do their bidding and it’s a dangerously simplistic and reductive thing to just call them “dogs” as if the whole show doesn’t say who’s wrong or right.

The show itself showed us using Falco that it is possible to not drink cool aid. So when a kid can do that, then what does that say about adults like Pieck?

They were meant to keep civilian casualties to a minimum and the port mostly had soldiers at it. It looked like some civilians died too but they needed to destroy the port so they must have just believed it to be necessary

underrated moment for me is that conversation in the cart between willy and magath. a diplomatic discussion between an eldian and a marleyan ending in agreement that ultimately, both harbour evil. also the ost is EPIC
The interesting thing about armin’s titan is that it doesn’t have ears. If you look at bert’s titan, it has ears meaning he can hear the screams of everyone he kills. That’s why armin asked that question while he was looking down on what he did, he couldn’t live with hearing it.

absolutely insane episode. i loved this episode sm, its a lot different than other fight scenes simply because its in Marley. the hundreds of innocents eren just killed. like holy crap at first ur surprised with eren but then? its nothing compared to later on 😳
