Speaking the language, having the ability to provide for yourself and having some knowledge of the country you want to become a citizen of should be a requirement for citizenship. It's overwhelming in your best interest to speak the language and have a good knowledge of a country you hope to become a citizen of. You guys at Baan Smile come up with some exceptional topics. Keep up the good work.

You need to mention too if you are married to a Thai citizen you are exempted from the Thai PR route and can apply directly towards the Thai citizenship, and having a Thai Pink ID (Foreign Thai 🪪) and a Yellow ThabianBaan with a Longterm Non- Immigrant visa Exempts you from the 90 Days Report because you will be on the Thai system and you don’t need to carry Your Passport anywhere too , Thanks for the great video 🎉

Once you get PR you will still need a work permit if you are working. The documentation is reduced but you still need to get a work permit when working even with a PR.
The 90 day for people who don't have PR can be done in person. by post, using an agent or on line (if the website is working )

As a PR holder for about 5 years now, I can say it's abit of misinformation in this video (though most of it is correct).
    1. During the application period, you need to get your own extensions based on work as usual. No 6 months extension are given anymore. Several years ago they stopped doing this.
    2. If you granted PR and still working, you still need to have a valid Work Permit. Though it's easier to get, and they usually give you 2 years validity.

@Calvin That's interesting. They for sure didn't do that when I applied. They even refused to give me an extension right before my approval, as they found out that we had one staff quit on us, so they forced me to go abroad to apply for a new Non-B visa. I explained to them that the PR department already had green lighted my application.
I came back a few days later with a new visa in my passport, and they called my to inform me that that my PR was approved. Well well, good to hear that they make it easier now.

@Paul Bee - I also believe just because you are a permanent resident, you still have to renew that visa every year to include add a multi entry exit stamp just like a retirement visa. Permanent resident based on marriage to a Thai also doesn't allow you to work. You want to work, open a business or take a job, you have to give up your permanent residency and apply for a work visa. It's not easy in Thailand if you follow all the rules unless you don't need to work, are retired, etc. Thailand doesn't want people coming to Thailand to work unless they are opening business/investing in Thailand and giving the local jobs - most foreigners in Thailand if they are not working for a major international company are working illegally - statistically I recall from years ago some reading, it was something like 42%, everything from English teachers (most with fake credentials and education claims), scuba diving instructors, tour guides, etc.

      Not exactly correct, Paul.
First of all, to get a fiance or marriage visa, the immigrant and citizen fiance/spouse have to go through all manner of hoops. Including a face to face interview, detailed investigation, substantiation that the citizen fiance/spouse can fully support the immigrant fiance, and so on. The process takes months before the immigrant even gets the K-1 visa. Once the immigrant is admitted with the K-1, they cannot leave the country, even for a family emergency until they get CONDITIONAL Permanent Residence. My daughter and son-in-law are going through the process right now. And it isn't easy or quick.

We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments.
