    Leveling as a tank is just fine. Actually if you're gonna play tank I think it's best to level as a tank so you learn your spec and develop muscle memory. You'll have to re-learn abilities and key bindings if you switch at level 75.
    The key is when leveling to use dps mods and gear, and set your companion to dps so you can kill npcs faster. You'll still have decent survivability because of your dcd's and a shield (don't use a focus or generator use a shield with dps mods as well). This is known as skanking and with some classes you might find skanking also useful in end game content as well.

  • @GamingGhosti

    Im bringing that point now up, because i didnt see them in the comments. Regarding your stats. Your Absorb and Shield is fine by me, I play tank myself and what people learn while playing tank, is that most of the stuff is personal preference. So just my personal preference regarding the power stat and threat generation. I think it is better to at least hit the cap for the power stat in lvl 70 content, because the threat a player generates, either tank, damage dealer (dd), or healer, is directly linked towards one of their outputs. For healer, the more they heal, the more threat they generate. For Tank and dd, the more dps they do, the more threat per second (tps) they will generate. For dd it is a 1:1 situation, for example if the dd does in lvl 70 12k dps, with out an aggro reduce the tps will be 12k, for the tank the situation is not 1:1 but more a 1:more than 1. For example if the tank does around 5k dps on a boss, the tps should be around 14k to17k tps, but if the tank deals less damage, lets say 2.5k he will also generate less threat. Because i usually play at the around 2.5k cap in lvl 70 Operations i dont now an acurate number for the tps, but i believe it should be around 10k +/- a few. And that makes it way to easy for the dd to get the aggro from the boss.
    In Short: Yes as a tank defense is priority number 1, but a tank cant ignore his dps, because that is linked to the tps he generates, so the more dps a tank does, the easier it gets to keep the aggro from the boss. So in my opinion a tank should use in lvl 75 Operation Dxun the dd modifications to gain damage, and for the others, with the lvl 70 cap a tank should use the tank modifications unless the tank got less power than the cap allows. The Power cap was 2557 i think for tanks, so anything above is useless, but anything below will cost damage and in return tps

      Absolutely! As a tank, our hilts / armourings come with more endurance on them. What you can do, to improve your damage output on your tank is switch
      your "Resistive Hilt" for a "Versatile Hilt". You can do the same with your barrel modification if you're on a class that uses a blaster.

    • @TimothyWelty

    @TimothyWelty 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Your gear missed Dire Retaliation. I personally use the Dire Retaliation set as it allows for the best TPS for a Shadow/Assassin. Also, you didn't even cover what shield and absorb rating one wants as a lvl 75 tank. As a clothie tank, you want your shield rating at 52% so that when you pop Dark Ward, your shield rating jumps to 75%. This is obviously in the min/max category, but is important for Shadow/Assassin tanks as when we get hit (not blocked) we take more dmg than PT or Jugg/Guardian tanks due to the fact they wear heavy armor vs our light armor.

    • @SWCentral
      @SWCentral  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! While we always welcome criticism, we already accept the fact that this video is not "the" tank guide. Everyone will surely have something to add, a little bit of advice here and there. Keep that in mind! :D
      Also, min/max doesn't always appeal to the larger population. Most people just want a general guide on how to start doing something. So long as we can help a few people get to that point, we did our job!

  • @phlegios

    I’m still clueless about how 2 cloaks can cheese stuff without losing aggro

      You pop your taunt right after you cloak. Just make sure the boss is tauntable.

      @@TimothyWelty but what exactly is the cheese Mechanic, what do you do when you force cloak?

    Yo, This information on amps is wack. "not that useful to anyone really" -eye twitches in DoT Spec- You can get over 20%+ to your DoTs base damages and thats not Insignificant by any means.
    HOWEVER
    They should be your FINAL Concern when you're optimizing your gear.
    Frankly, I think really only because of how misleading the info provided is on their efficacy it may behoove you to do a separate in depth guide for amplifiers tbh.
    Also, the rebrand is weird to me and I will never adapt.

      Thanks for the feedback! We saw this before the video went out, ultimately I decided that there was no need or cause for me to make an in depth segment on amplifiers for Assassin / Shadow tanks. That's not to say they are not useful at all. By no means a priority for a new player.
      About the rebrand, could you narrow down what's wierd and also narrow down what exactly you need to adapt to? ;)

      @@SWCentral you could mention that a safe amplifier to use is Aural Resistance as it reduces AoE dmg taken. And unless they are gearing for lvl 75 content, just use the first one that pops up and not to exceed 45k per re-roll. Have a bunch of extra armorings that be swapped in to start the whole re-roll process anew and save tons of creds.
