So true. A lot of the armor isn't too over the top (same with the endgame armor, more so here), and it's pretty cheap. Plus, some of the armor looks similar to certain higher level versions (dyes will help if you want the look of the hl version for cheaper). And a lot of it is simple, clean looking (arguably the Padawan robes, but with a cloak and more details built in).
I just wish hoods could keep the hairstyle, maybe changing the ones with more volume to some with less volume. Same with the hats like that agent's cap that removes it and leaves the character bald.
Can’t you transmog a covert invisible head piece over your gear on a new armor set tab, like a costume overlay? Sorry forgot the lingo as I haven’t played in almost a year but I’m sure that might have been an option in order to hide your hood
Hide hood has been a highly requested feature since launch but it hasn't happened. Fortunately these days finding armor variants with hoods lowered is possible. You'd think a covert head slot would be easy to do since Twi'lek and Togruta especially have that by default.
I am very glad we can do hide head. The hats/helmets on some of the outfits are very silly.. I just wish we could hide hoods.. Some of the outfits do dye very well I have to say. Thank you for showing the outfits in very lighted areas.

The scorpion coat is my favorite. As soon as I found it and (finally) understood the adaptive armor tab I was giddy...what can I say I’m a sucker for trench coats.
If you take off the mask on the Saber Marshall set you get a hood instead, and it's my favorite hood in the game because its huge and you can actually see your face during cutscenes. It's what I use on my Assassin main
I recommend using these, even if you want to use another appearance, changing the Mods, Enhancements, Armoring, Crystals and Hilt/Barrel is always extremely helpful. Do it as you level and your gear will always be on par. Its not a requirement to do it every time you can, though. You can skip a few levels and then upgrade the items!

Subscribed, nice tone to your videos and for a returning player after x years, seeing how you can get cool armors at low cost in a swtor world where stuff now costs millions on the GTN, this is extremely nice to find. Thank you, well done!
I actually started using the blackguard armor on my Darkside iconoclastic Jedi Sentinel and it works surprisingly well. It has the fabric physics that make watching a Jedi leap around so much fun and at a distance you might think he’s wearing darker Jedi Robes when in combat, but while out of combat he look very un-Jedi-like with this great Jacket you’d expect to see on someone like a pirate or a criminal tough guy, and you don’t expect the character to pull out a pair of lightsabers and go to town on everyone around him.
As always, I am late, but I usually pair Stormguard with either of the 2500 credit Adaptive Trooper helmets. They automatically turn green and orange to match, so it fits perfectly. (Side note, since the male Jedi Knight is voiced by David Hayter, putting a voice modulator on them makes them sound exactly like Solid Snake.)
The smuggler side Scout set is in reference to the original KOTOR, a game I played the crap out of when it first came out. Definitely nabbing that one my first chance. Thanks for another awesome vid!
One little note, the td07 panther set responds VERYYYYY well to dyes with a black base as the pouches and such are secondary dyes. They used to be the the sets for completing planet or FP questline so they were designed around multiple colored versions with the same model, so dying is a big difference for that set as they were originally designed to look different with bust color changes.
I love that we can mix and match and not even have to use dyes. My Inquisitor has an awesome (imo) setup of mostly bounty hunter (the hood with mask especially) and the Arcon robe. Everything is that intense red, but looks so good. I like to imagine she likes to be out looking for relics and wants the dust/cold protection, but also wants to show that she is Sith.
i absolutely love all the information you have here and appreciate all the time you have put into this site. Your presentation skills are absolutely wonderful and your voice is very pleasant. thank you again for helping new players, and veterans.
On the subject of the Initiate robe, I found a similar one (Agile Judgement, for the Republic) that has a pale blue-grey color, and it looks awesome. Obviously, if you are a low level, the Initiate robe and dye would be easier (and the Initiate robe doesn't have a hood, so that's a plus), but if you really like the color of the AJ robe, just use your "Hide Hood" toggle or find some headgear that negates the hood. Overall, a lot of the armor looks really cool. This was definitely a helpful video!
@@Swtorista I agree! It's like creme and tan, but for grey (it feels like it has a tiny bit of blue to it). In many games, there's always olat least 1 piece of gear you'll get that looks great without changing the color, and this is a prime example. (Laughed when I saw the 90% caps). When I start playing, I definitely hope to find this robe-it's perfect for my plan for a simple look! :D
as a returning player, this find was amazing, sadly i bought the vendetta set for my IA, but my heroic blues are all better and i don't know where to find mods to the set. i still bought it, very cool set
Ah!! If you are free to play I think those blues are the best in the game, so keep them on. BUT you can put the vendetta set in the outfit designer! They're the numbered tabs on the side of the equipment panel

The Supreme Inquisitor armor... I remember back at launch when that armor was really expensive since it could only be randomly looted and was in super high demand for its simplistic but good look.

@@selenagamya1612 Not with the adaptive vendor items, they are only binded to legacy and allows you to transfer them to other characters on either faction.
That Initiate armour looks good for a Padawan same with Myrmidon if dyed brown. I might use Omenbringer as like a meditation robe or Force Magister without the headgear. For bounty hunter I might use hydra helmet gauntlets and boots with trainee or imperator chest and pants due to her outgrowing her Mandalorian armour having to escape the slaughter of her clan at 15 or 16 years of age of which she finds a spare set of armour that doesn't fit her yet except for the helmet, gauntlets and boots
Nice vid; I always go to the Adaptative vendor first before I make up my mind about more appropriate armors. N.B.: May I suggest that you put a 'transferrable/Not transferrable' badge for each armor you display on the vid!
If you want an initiate style Headset that’s legacy bound. You get lord kalligs head piece on Dromund Kaas (if you are a inquisitor) that is exactly like it, but legacy bound.
Indeed! I’m using the saber Marshall everything but head which is eradicator on my sorcerer. It looks amazing. Thank you for replying as well, never expected it. :)
I believe if you transfer over some republic gear to your sith and equip it, the equivalent sith appearance will be equipped instead, and or vice versa. Could be wrong but i vaguely remember trying once lol
Hydra style of bounty hunter armor is probably my favorite style of armor in the game. My main BH has been wearing a orangish red and white set like it since 3.0.
I always tell new players to go have a look at this vendor. Also, even though I have like a hundred outfits unlocked in collections, I use the adaptive armor A LOT.
I'm a little disappointed the Eradicator armor set didn't make it on the list. Since it looks a lot like the armor used in the cinematic's, i still use it on my Sith Assassin and i love it, especially with the Eradicator mask added to it!
Saber Marshal - One of the best Sith robes out there...if not for the damn clipping issue when not used with a helmet that hides the hood. I highly suspect that they did not even bother to test the armors without the helmets that come in their set.
#2 is actually identical to the Supreme Inquisitor set that you could get as loot from bosses between 40-44 or so. One particular boss spawns on Hoth and I remember farming that coat forever to get it for my Inquisitor. Being Orange also meant you could mod it but unfortunately, the set is light and not adaptive so before all this adaptive stuff - it was your Empire's only way to really look "Jedi-like"
@@Swtorista Yeah. Launch day was drastically different and no doubt limiting gear based on weight class was a pretty archaic thing back then. I remember going at that spawn in Hoth for like five hours. Helped me learn the tank spec for Assassin though.
I just wish the front flaps of robes with pants didn't stick to the legs like they do. I'm not a programmer or model designer, so I don't know how much work it would take to fix it, and I figure it would mean remodeling all the outfits. Someday maybe.
I was always sad you couldn't get most of those sweet bulky robes from the Jedi side over on the Sith side. Always wanted those big bulky robes and deep hood just in black.
I was thinking while playing last night... do you have a beast lore video? If not can you eventually make a lore based beast videos. Or even droids etc. I don't know, just always a fan of yours, may the Force be with you! Stay safe out there.
I currently use an almost full scorpio set on my sith warrior. The two only pieces that changes are the lightside level one gloves from the light-side merchant on the fleet, and the headpiece, which is, in the outfit manager (so only for the style, I still wear an adaptable headpiece in reality) the headpiece mask from Quesh. I just love the coat, but the classic scorpio headpiece... I find it ugly.
If nothing else, the Scout headpiece is useful if you're F2P, want to have your face more or less clear and don't want to spend money for the option to hide your helmet.
Jedi - 1:08
Smuggler & Trooper - 4:00
Sith - 7:20

Took me long enough :P
I love that these are available, but on a side note I spent the better part of a year farming that Hydra set, so it hurts a little...
You can brag about it if it makes you feel better :P
@@Swtorista it doesn't. I'm not one to brag, just having fun with the game again. Thanks for your videos. :)
Nice vid; I always go to the Adaptative vendor first before I make up my mind about more appropriate armors.
N.B.: May I suggest that you put a 'transferrable/Not transferrable' badge for each armor you display on the vid!
That would have been a smart idea, wish I could add them to the video afterwards!
If you want an initiate style Headset that’s legacy bound. You get lord kalligs head piece on Dromund Kaas (if you are a inquisitor) that is exactly like it, but legacy bound.
Yes!! I love the legacy bound version you can get. Sadly you can not get it ingame if you have an older inquisitor.
Indeed! I’m using the saber Marshall everything but head which is eradicator on my sorcerer. It looks amazing. Thank you for replying as well, never expected it. :)
Your passion and voice are most appreciated
I believe if you transfer over some republic gear to your sith and equip it, the equivalent sith appearance will be equipped instead, and or vice versa. Could be wrong but i vaguely remember trying once lol
Yeah! you remember correctly, that's how a lot of crafted gear works. This gear is different and keeps its appearance :D
6:31 I think that's a typo. The RD-17A Phalanx is actually from the Republic Adaptive Vendors and not the Imperial. :D
WHOOPS
You know, those pesky Imperial vendors, always smuggling goods over!
Honestly after I finished kotet I didn’t care about stats for my armour
Neat as always. Maybe a video on the social or reputation sets?
One day! I've got reputation on my wishlist for sure.
TT-17A Hydra...I was beyond excited to find and don that bad ass set of Mando armor lol.
And for so little too!
@@Swtorista That alone made my day lol.
I'm new to the swtor game, I just started 3 days ago and I'm glad I stumbled upon your channel. Absolutely love your content! :)
welcome to the game!
Thanks, Swtorista, always learn something new from your great instructional videos. Your the best!
Thanks Far Sear!
Thank you for posting this! It helped a lot!
Really like the Sith Initiate Helm since it's the same model that Lord Kallig uses so it would be a good RP piece for Sith Inquisitors
Perfect!
Hydra style of bounty hunter armor is probably my favorite style of armor in the game. My main BH has been wearing a orangish red and white set like it since 3.0.
Very nice!
fun fact is Tarro blood armor
Thank you soo much for the tips and the new discoveries! These are really cool armors! Thanks again
Cheers, thanks Timothe!
#2 is actually identical to the Supreme Inquisitor set that you could get as loot from bosses between 40-44 or so. One particular boss spawns on Hoth and I remember farming that coat forever to get it for my Inquisitor. Being Orange also meant you could mod it but unfortunately, the set is light and not adaptive so before all this adaptive stuff - it was your Empire's only way to really look "Jedi-like"
Outfits that you can only get at certain low levels are my nemesis :P
@@Swtorista Yeah. Launch day was drastically different and no doubt limiting gear based on weight class was a pretty archaic thing back then. I remember going at that spawn in Hoth for like five hours. Helped me learn the tank spec for Assassin though.
"So how did you get so good at tanking?"
"Play space barbie, of course!"
13:38 whats that lightsaber
Sorry this is a year late lol but it's one of the Derelict models
I just wish the front flaps of robes with pants didn't stick to the legs like they do. I'm not a programmer or model designer, so I don't know how much work it would take to fix it, and I figure it would mean remodeling all the outfits. Someday maybe.
Love the videos and your voice is just really relaxing thanks for the tips and advice on gear and such may the Force be with you
Im getting back to swtor because of your videos. Thank you!
One thing I noticed is that a lot of these armors are exactly the same as the outfits worn by the classes in the original character creation screen.
@@AllThings_Gaming-c1m Actually I'm preferred status right now.
I was always sad you couldn't get most of those sweet bulky robes from the Jedi side over on the Sith side. Always wanted those big bulky robes and deep hood just in black.
The coat on the scorpion works pretty well on Sith characters, especially if you’re going for a more casual sith.
Thanks so much for this video! Awesome info :D
Nico Okarr's duster makes a good SMuggler, BH, or Agent (Red Blade disguise) armor piece lol
:) I love that you call the Jedi headband cute.
I was thinking while playing last night... do you have a beast lore video? If not can you eventually make a lore based beast videos. Or even droids etc. I don't know, just always a fan of yours, may the Force be with you! Stay safe out there.
Nope, I'd love to do more lore videos they're just a lot of work! :)
These are amazing! Thank you so much I never would have known these exist.
I checked it out recently, and I found some items that looked really cool! 👌
Great content Swtorista! I have been playing this game since 2014 and never knew this
I think it got introduced somewhere around the end of 2015 :)
I use the phalanx helmet with collosus armor then unify armor colors to make what I feel like is more republic.
Edit: if you can afford dye, you only have to change the chest piece colors, then unify colors to get the armor you want.
SWTOR Sith annihilator set sure does look like old republic vader armor,I used it for my sith character!
Lol , love your reactions :D.. nice videos keep em coming . :)
You're a Savant. Wow, I saw some armors I will have to get. You enhance my game, Lady.
Doing rep side wz and only skyshredder hutball is popping! UG!
Good luck with the hutts!
I like the Viper armour on the Rep side may get for my junior bounty hunter
I currently use an almost full scorpio set on my sith warrior. The two only pieces that changes are the lightside level one gloves from the light-side merchant on the fleet, and the headpiece, which is, in the outfit manager (so only for the style, I still wear an adaptable headpiece in reality) the headpiece mask from Quesh. I just love the coat, but the classic scorpio headpiece... I find it ugly.
Love this, thank you. Love your channel. Say, how do you film scenes full screen without the menu appearing at the bottom?
ALT+Z hides your UI :)
@@Swtorista Thanks, you're the best.
If nothing else, the Scout headpiece is useful if you're F2P, want to have your face more or less clear and don't want to spend money for the option to hide your helmet.
