Thank you!, Thank you!, Thank you!, I tried this messy bun (your signature messy bun) and it came out FANTASTIC!! This is the only one I do now! It's my go to signature bun now.
On the signature messy bun, if you have thin hair like me, and you can’t make a full second circle with the tips of your hair, try wrapping it around the ponytail holder multiple times, works like a charm
i've had enough hair to do a double bun, but not the knowledge...now i have both! for years i've been using an additional hair piece for the bottom bun, which can be heavy. i'm 70 years old and still learning and loving the new trends. thank you, so much for sharing, without you, i would just be a grandma with a ponytail !!
Messy buns work best on thicker 'dirty' hair. Try the bun on hair that hasn't been washed for a few days and use dry shampoo. I have fine sorta thin hair and this is the only way it works for me.
Thanks Tessi! My hair used to always stick out whenever I tried to put it in a bun, but now has been resolved after watching your video. It worked great for me! Thank you!
I found this one bun tutorial that I based my signature bun on but I couldn't remember where I had gotten it from and now that I have turned to youtube to find more bun tutorials I realized that it was the last bun that you do so thank you very much for the easy but cute bun ideas. I plan on graduating to your 2 other buns because I loved how cute and simple the one I use is. Thanks Tessi you a queen
Practice makes perfect with this and I finally got it - style #1 is by far my fave! I have long thick curly hair - with my old top knot style I put it almost on the top of my head but with this style if I do that it looks HUGE. So I found that putting my initial ponytail a bit lower (or further back) on my head makes it look perfect. THANK YOU!!! Excited to watch more of your tutorials!
Thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed how you show us twice. The first time I get lost. The second time I'm like, yeah...I get it now!. Lol! Not sure why that is but great job anyway!
I need a separate tutorial for thick hair 🤦♀️🤣my hair is so long and thick I can do hardly anything with it to hold a ponytail up I have to use 2-3 hair ties and it gives me headaches *Edit* Wow! Thank you🙏🏼so much for three likes I’ve never gotten likes on a comment before! *Edit* I come back after a year forgetting abt this comment and it has 93 likes😳 thank you sm ❤️
I feel you 😂. For me what normally works is doing some kind of messy up do by doing a standard "messy bun" an d pinning random pieces down until it's stable on your head. Hope you figure out something that works for you!
Try the last one. I have thick hair too but this one actually worked. When I did it (I think I did it incorrect) but it turned into a vsco girl bun 😂🤣 but yea try it out
Here’s what I do: First act like you are going to pull your hair into a kinda high ponytail (mid length), then start from the top and twist until a little tight all the way down your hair, then take the hair a and turn it into a circle to make a bun shape. Secure with a scrunchie (or elastic) and you’re done!
THANK YOU I have spent YEARS trying to do a messy bun (apparently I was born without the default girl skill of creating messy buns) but I tried the third style and IT WORKED 😭
@@TessiWood I'm really struggling when it comes to tucking the ends back into the elastic band - my hair is very thick and completely straight so the ends just won't cooperate. Are these any tricks that I should know of? Like, does it matter how tight or how loose the elastic band is before tucking the ends back in? I've been looking for the best and easiest way of putting my hair into a messy top knot for years but I just can't find a method that actually works in my hair without using 15-20 bobby pins 😉
i have thick and long hair with layers so messy buns just dont work for me without tucking 100 hair pins!!! but the last style did work for me pretty well without a single pin and it did not budge!!! loads of love to you. keep going girl.
Thank you so much! I've been trying to do the double-tiered bun for almost 2 years. I've watched countless videos and it wasn't until I watched yours yesterday that I was finally able to do it!!!
Very creative! Stands out among so many other ways of doing this hairstyle. I will try them, just the twist on a technique I've been looking for. I like the use of clear mascara, too.
Try the first one but with two elastics. One for the ponytail and then one for the messy bun part. Curl the ends back through a few times. Hope that helps!
Jimmy Neutron And even better when you do a bun and it come out floppy.... I have a thick hair but when I do a bun and loosen the front part of my hair it always go down.... AMAZING am I right?????
I am a “man” and I have hair that’s 10-12 inches on top and buzzed on the sides and back. My hair is very thick and wavy and somewhat coarse (in the realm of Andy Samberg, Jonah Hill, and Seth Rogan). When it was shorter I was able to get away with the half bun samurai top knot but now that style isn’t doable because the tail end curls too much. These styles worked amazingly well!! If you have any advice and/or styles for man buns and stuff I’d love more help!
This was incredibly helpful to me thankyou for sharing this video. I have watched so many other videos and can’t get it but this really did help now I actually have a nice messy bun😂💗
Hi! I’m really struggling to do the third style and it seems to fit me but I have a hard time when it comes to the “pluck and pull” it all just comes out the same twisted way and I have to restart. It’s very difficult any pointers?
For those who struggle with this (especially with thick and frizzy hair that doesnt want to separate ) : take one elastic for the pony and one to secure the bun ( i used a scrunchy for that one :) )
How do you guys do any of these! My hair is just to thick I think. I've tried the last one soooooo many times. My hair just falls out of the pony tail. :( Like I just can't twist it enough.
Kokobop if you add some texturizing spray, or dry shampoo, it may help to hold the bun. I use this same style on my little girls who have softer hair and it still works 😊
i haven't tried this but my hair is VERY long and thick so idk how this will turn out. I've been trying to find hairstyles to do for my hair but they just don't work! Not to be funny but my hair is so long its past my butt! lol any suggestion?
Try the first one but with two elastics. One for the ponytail and then one for the messy bun part. Curl the ends back through the elastic multiple times. Hope that helps!

It worked
?!
Which one is the signature one???
I have pretty thick hair so its hard for me to do a messy bun but when i tried this it worked out soo good
Oh I am so glad to hear that!
Leona Maran same!
MY HAIR IS SOOO THICK
Same
On the signature messy bun, if you have thin hair like me, and you can’t make a full second circle with the tips of your hair, try wrapping it around the ponytail holder multiple times, works like a charm

So glad you found it helpful!
Yeah
I cant imagine doing this because once it's done... How do I take it out of my hair without making a huge knot?!
Cookie Frenzy pull out the ends that you curl back into the elastic first, then the bun, then the ponytail. It’s really not that complicated 😊❤️
Wxactly now I have a huge knot in my hair
@@amelia8927 brush it
My hair was so freaking heavy I got a cramp in my arm 😂
Ikr it’s soo thick lol
I've literally been trying to do messy buns for years and this is the only one that has ever worked with my hair.
I am so glad to hear that!
I guess my hair is too thin? No matter who’s video my hair is ALWAYS floppy and never tight.
Have you tried our other tutorial? Maybe this one will help you! th-cam.com/video/pSHzwwVx_Kc/w-d-xo.html
Messy buns work best on thicker 'dirty' hair. Try the bun on hair that hasn't been washed for a few days and use dry shampoo. I have fine sorta thin hair and this is the only way it works for me.
Agh my hairs too thick 😭😭
Charli N my hairs to thick and puffy it never comes together and is always floppy never tight I can’t get it in a bun
A way to add volume to ur hair is to take ur comb or brush and brush opposite ways and itll get more thicker
I have super thick hair and I have had zero luck getting a cute messy bun look for YEARS. Girl. You just changed my hair's life. ❤❤❤
Sorry for the delay but I am so glad to hear this! ❤️
Thanks for making hairstyling fun and easy to learn! 😄
Thanks Tessi! My hair used to always stick out whenever I tried to put it in a bun, but now has been resolved after watching your video. It worked great for me! Thank you!

So glad to hear it! ❤️
the last one is the best wore it to youth group, so many complements!
This helped sooooo much thanks!! Finally someone that has the same amount of hair as me!
Omg I’ve been looking through different videos for about half an hour now because my hair is very thick, and that last method worked!! Thank you!!!!

When you only have scrunchies-
And I oop! I’m gonna try with them anyways lol
AWESOME!!!!!! I love this video and it helped out so much! Thank you!!!!
I suggest loose for the first one so you can tuck the extra hairs easier- it depends if you have thick or thin hair
I love first one it's so different but lovely 👍

For those who struggle with this (especially with thick and frizzy hair that doesnt want to separate ) : take one elastic for the pony and one to secure the bun ( i used a scrunchy for that one :) )
Thanks for the recommendation! I also do that if the elastic doesn’t stay tight enough ❤️
Hey! I need a bun that I can put in the middle of my head. My hair pulls a lot in a bun and causes headaches. Any recommendations
6:32 is my fav
