Guys I one hundred percent recommend this messy bun!! The only part I had trouble with was the last part trying to bobby pin it, I put it on my bun a different way but it still looked very cute. Then again that was only MY problem! Love this bun!💗
As someone with extremely long curly hair, I can attest that this is EASILY the BEST messy hair bun! It’s so beautiful and comes out perfect every time! Thank you!!!! ❤
I've probably watched at least 30 messy bun tutorials and this is the first one that's actually worked for me 😭 And it's SO EASY and looks amazing 😍 Thank you!!!!!
I saw the thumbnail for this hairdo this past Friday & I fell in love with how it looked!! I DID try doing it myself this past weekend & it turned out REALLY NICE!! So it's yet ANOTHER hairstyle I learned from you that I'll be wearing to work!! People at work get VERY amused by the hairstyles (& color, for that matter! I call it my "mood" hair!😄), jewelry, & makeup! I'm like the mascot!😁 I was told by one of my regular customers that I "bring color to the work place! With your hair, makeup, jewelry, & fingernails, it's fun to see what you come up with!" That was a NEW compliment on me & I thought it WAS sweet!! So THANX again for helping me expand my hairdos!! LUV your knowledge!!
YES, constantly trying to master the messy bun look. Uh and yes, I may have to bite the bullet and get the 'good' hair ties, Thanks for the recommendation. Thanks too for the tutorial, I will try again 🤩!
If you're like me and can't afford the good hair ties, you could buy some really cheap baby or little girls stockings ( I, personally try to thrift them or get them at yard sales) and cut them in 1 and one half inch to two inch wide strips (because they're already basically a tube and will roll when you cut them) they work just as well as the expensive ones and the infant sized stockings go right back in shape if you hand wash them and throw them in the dryer.
Hello and Happy Mother's Day! I'm relatively new to your site Lainey... but I so appreciate your expertise and tutorials in making these videos for your updues. I''m somewhat older than most of your listeners and am not as agile as I once was! Your instructions are great and easy to follow (which is a big plus)! Keep them coming...🌻
Omgoodness. I was trying for the longest with the viral " easy" messy bun hack . . . Waste of time and so complicated. Couldn't get it Thank you for this video. It looks so amazing and it was so effortless!!!
This turned out so cute for my hair!! I very rarely style my hair, but I wanted to have a cute hair style for my county fair livestock shows, but also needed to keep the hair out of my face. Tried this and worked perfectly! And it held in place all day long, even with wrestling pigs, sheep, and horses lol. Love your vids, they give me inspiration to do things with my hair, and I always feel so pretty afterwards!! Thank you!
I LOVE this bun! I have super thin, fine, straight hair and hardly NO styles work for me. Yours usually do. Although i still can't get a pull through braid faux hawk to work for me because my hair is SO fine and thin it just will not ever look like it's supposed to no matter how much product i put in, how much i curl, nothing works. There's 2 styles i wish would work on my hair but they wont and that's the pull through braid faux hawk and space buns 😢it's horrible bc i love both. So glad you've got other styles i can use and just add my own funky touches to make them look like me
If you ever do a bun faux hawk, or space buns I'll definitely be there! And if you can find a way for a pull through braid faux hawk to work for hair like mine I'll definitely give it a try
This is cute! The only thing i would do differently is to take the piece at the end and just twist it around and tuck it into the hair tie, rather than bobby pin it. It will stay tucked in.
I just watched your wavy hair, T-shirt plopping video. Try this, it's what I have done for years and still works on my hair. Wash and Condition as usual. With your head upside down, squeeze the water out with your hands, put your hair in a clip on top of your head. No towel. This is the order of what I put on my hair. Leave in conditioner. Styling cream. Heat protector. A little gel. Hair oil. My hair is still very wet. I take a hair towel and put my hair up in it. It's there for 5-10 min. I take my hair down, my head still upside down. I take my favorite hairspray and liberally coat all of my hair. Then I take my blowdryer, no diffuser, and I start drying on the highest fan setting. I flip and flop my hair but my head remains upside down. I never dry my hair completely. The curls/waves stay and there is a lot of volume from drying it this way. Give it a try.
I do almost the same..diffuser doesn't give me volume and it is time consuming..I use blowdryer on high setting on my roots..it works. Only I don't use hairspray..I might try it..TY for detailed process
As usual, beautiful look! I love and appreciate your skill of teaching. Thank you for taking the time to teach and share. May God bless you abundantly!
It's like the summer version of the classic sock bun! Which should totally make a comeback. The girl in Maxton Hall kind of seems to wear one? You should try and recreate that look!
I would recommend overnight curls (like robe curls). I have several videos on my channel. I like having my hair wavy/curly vs straight when doing styles like these!
For all those thick haired girls who were intimidated by the first sentence, this totally worked for me and I have the heaviest, thickest, most obnoxious hair ever!!
It worked well. Messier than I'd like. Sometimes it'd work & sometimes it'd be a bad hair day. Bobby pins were a must. After rewatching this though I realized that you securely tie the bun. I was just loosely doing it with a clear elastic which is probably where I messed up. Oopsies. I really need to invest in good hairties too that don't give me a headache. 😓 Will be testing this style out again bc practice makes perfect!
🎆 ~ Luv your personality :) thx for just being "normal"! 💖 You're pretty, but sweet, & not stuck-up at all like some of the other tutorialists. You are FUN to watch. ❤ LUVVV your EZ messy bun & your great, non-confusing to follow, method & instructions (without being condescending) - really appreciate that!!! :) My Scandinavian knee-length hair might rebel & limp-out (too used to that ...), but I'll give your messy bun a whirl tonight or tomorrow - wish me luck ... . Sprinkling ✝️ Blessings ~ 🎆
When I half the pony tail and wrap a hair band around it then pull my hair out like you do it's just pulls all the hair bands away from my head and It looks rubbish on me 😕 great idea if I could do it.
❤ Love love it looks so cute. Have question would love to see you make video of side buns . Can you please was wondering if you be willing ask your viewers if they like see side buns if your willing to do some .
I always watch these videos and think ive fpund my perfect hairstyle and that it looks "easy", and while this bun looks amazing, whats the betting my hair is too thin and it wont work on me 😢
Turkish girls like me can make this bun with a single hair clip and clean the house in seconds. O sırada benim gibi Türk kızları bu topuzu tek bir toka ile yapıp ev temizlemesi
What I find really helps is those clip in hair extensions that are a different texture but same colour as my hair. Doesn't have to alot, just a few hidden at the bottom of my hair
Is your hair in good condition or is it a little dry? Try some smoothing serum oil and that might help. You have to be so gentle when you take out the ponytail holder elastics. Sorry😢
You poor thing! That’s likely due to either genetics or damaged hair. Id find videos on how to strengthen your hair, make sure to include your hair type 💖
I have tried to do this stupid bun tutorial like 30 fucking times. It doesn't work on long hair. If your hair is to your hips don't waste your time trying to figure this shit out bc everytime I do this it doesn't work or looks incredibly hideous. This is for medium hair. Not long hair.

Girl you’re so pretty
Thank you so much for your help!! I’m going to wear this to my boyfriends graduation ❤️❤️😽 You are so pretty and kind
YAY! Hope it turned out well!
OMG a messy bun I can actually do. Better than a bun ring coz not as 'forced'. Wish I could send pics. Thankyou 🥰🥰🥰
Yay!!! So happy to hear that! Thanks for watching ❤
Cute, I like how it turned out. Happy Mother's Day.
Thank you so much!!
I used like 15 hair clips but I did it

thank you!
SO Prettyyy!!! Warning my hair was superrr knoted after
It was kinda hard not to end up with a droopy bun that was pushed out more length. Any suggestions for how to wrap long ends flatter around bun part?
knots like your tying a shoe. Stick a bobby pin in the center.
So nice with speed 2
Wow!!! Love it 😊😊😊

My hair is past my butt. I need a haircut so I can do all these cute hairstyles you share with us.

Where do you find those stretchy hair ties?
mykitsch
What is the brand of hair ties?
I'm wondering too!
Mykitsch!
I’m obsessed with this hairstyle but my hair is too thin 😢 anyone have any suggestions for me that I could achieve this look even a little?
It should still work with thin hair! Try to use some texture spray if your hair is very fine. Also use thin elastics instead of hair ties!
❤❤❤❤
My hair is heavy . 😢
Nice 👍🙂
Thank you so much!!
❤
I always watch these videos and think ive fpund my perfect hairstyle and that it looks "easy", and while this bun looks amazing, whats the betting my hair is too thin and it wont work on me 😢
I wish I could wear my hair in a bun, but it’s to thin, and the bun ends up to small making it look weird.
Put your hair in a ponytail and back comb it until it's fuller. It adds alot of volume
Fajna fryza
Turkish girls like me can make this bun with a single hair clip and clean the house in seconds.

My hair: not today ! Or ever.
MY HAIR IS TOO SILKY AHH
Try some texture spray!
I have the same problem! I can never do anything because it's slippery 😂and never stays for more than 2 seconds
What I find really helps is those clip in hair extensions that are a different texture but same colour as my hair. Doesn't have to alot, just a few hidden at the bottom of my hair
Step one, have hair
👍❤️😃😍🙏🙏🙏
I think I missed a step…
Sadly this ripped out a bunch of hair
Oh my gosh I'm so sorry 😢
