Here's a tip to get more out of Duolingo (which has, since this video, more than doubled the number of available lessons in Japanese): While it's fine to answer using the word bank here and there, if you really want to get familiar with structure and memorize the hiragana/katakana more quickly and permanently, I highly recommend installing Japanese on your computer and/or phone and answering using that instead of the premade word bank. Duolingo gives you the option to type instead of using the bank for some questions. While it improves your learning of the language, it has the secondary benefit of teaching you how to type and text in Japanese, which is something even IRL language classes often fall short in, despite the fact that many of us chat and text nearly as much as we speak. It also allows you to better memorize the kanji taught in Duolingo. (not that I'd recommend Duolingo for teaching much kanji). I do recommend using Duolingo free if you are starting out with Japanese for the very first time, but not much after that. Also, do not use it alone! I use it alongside Wanikani for learning syntax and kanji, and I watch TH-cam videos in Japanese to train my ears to understand better. Additionally, you can set the apps you use to Japanese in order to partially make up for an inability to be immersed in the language in person.

does it feature Kanji learning ??
Good question. Not that I know of...at least not yet.
He said the ads are a con but just get an ad blocker
Here’s a trick: When an ad plays, and there’s the ‘go ad free’ at the bottom, tap it, then say no thanks to Duolingo plus, it will go back, but not to the ad. It’ll take you to the home screen!
Thanks for sharing this :)
at least my family doesnt die
I only got another strike already
Will I learn full Japanese if I use duolingo everyday
Great question! I don’t think a person can become fully fluent from Duolingo alone. It’s has it’s good points, but part of becoming fluent is being able to hold real conversations with native speakers.
Does duolingo’s Japanese teach Kanji?
I don't know if their paid version does, but the freemium version doesn't teach kanji. Just hiragana and katakana.
2:59 - 3:16 HAHAHHAHA IM DEAD
I've always loved Japanese culture even though I'm a black guy living in Arizona 🙃
I was like that too. I was a black man enjoying the culture, living in Georgia, before I moved here.
No shame in that 😀
i liked and subscribed right at this is a pen just so everyone knows
