Yeah you could, but the glow sticks can be seen a foot or 2 under water when the fish takes them so I just kinda left it even with the float. Leaving it stick up would make it visible from all direction I suppose though!!!
People have been doing this for a long long time. They make ones that come with glowsticks built into the bobber and battery operated ones and even some that you can recharge with your phone that are all great options, just like this old school way is still good and effective.
Must of my good balsa slip floats charge still. Can't see them, never really could, I went LED over 20 years ago when thill sold the recharge LED's for those floats your talking about. Something about red light reflecting off a baitfish under my float... Not just me just some areas around here.
@@chrisbaker9887 yeah they are hard to see, I only use them right by shore like less them 15 yards out from shore in the rocks for flatheads. I cat fish allot allot and I just don't use floats as often as I used to but I'll still use slip floats occasionally but I'm like you and can't see them well and I have had corrective lenses since I was 6 and my vision at night is very very bad now. Led is the best to go with in almost any light situation or option in life. It's so much brighter and an easier to see of a light. I do love thill products, one of the only slip bobbers I use especially for channel cats.
Pretty cool idea man . I'm not really much of a float person have some just don't use them , same with bobber fishing smaller fish . But definitely would help to see bites easily if using a float at night 😎👌
@@reelcatfishing4479 okay thanks I'm going to try to catch carp or white bass but in the state of Pennsylvania where I live we can't use shad that is one of the one fish that we can't use I think but bluegill I tried already and it's kind of nice but I am trying to find a lot more bait that catfish like thank you
They are called LED bobber light catfish paylake light. They take a 2032 battery. I get the battery from a flea market 6 for a $1 u can get the lights out of Amazon at a good price to. Well worth the money
@@reelcatfishing4479 I'd like to send you some I made wont cost you a dime but would love to see you smoke fish with them me and my buddies use them and they rock I'll put extra batteries in as well just tell me some colors and where to send them
😂😂😂 I'm the only one out of my friends that use them too. They cheap too but one of them is going end up buying some. Especially if I keep catching fish on them lol
Fantastic idea awesome video my friend
Thanks chunky!!!
That is an awesome idea. You always come up with good cost effective ways to fish. Thanks brother. Wishing you nothing but great success.
Thanks man!! Glad to get to share it with everyone. This is something I learned fro. The old timers when I was back in middle school
@@reelcatfishing4479 Amazing how wise the old timers are 😉👍
this is a wonderful video for fishing at night on a budget. it's very versatile and very effective from bank or boat!
Thanks and yes it sure is... I love using floats all summer and fall.
Awesome idea and video. Will be trying this very soon. I liked how you used a tree as an example. Miss your videos, hope things are well.
Cool video! Could you tape the glow stick up a bit so that it sticks up higher than the float?
Yeah you could, but the glow sticks can be seen a foot or 2 under water when the fish takes them so I just kinda left it even with the float. Leaving it stick up would make it visible from all direction I suppose though!!!
Reminds me of my raving days lol
Lol right on

Oh dang that is crazy
Go to Wal-Mart party section by the 100 pack 8 inch $10 that's .10 cents each
Hey, that's awesome!!! Great idea lol even better than dollar tree right there
That's what I use...also use them on a pool noodle slip bobber
Put a little tape on top and a little tape on the bottom so you don't cover half the light
I like your video I'm sorry
First
Right on!
