Cool idea. I use them on the tip of my poles
I started buying some ones online that are molded to clip to the rod tip. They work on most of my catfish rods with the only exception being a 12 foot okuma rod I use when bank fishing.
Glow stick on the rod won't help you use a float. You have to tight like which is fine but not the only way to catch fish.
