    This is just great! Loved the entire video, as a 800 & 400 meter runner I really understood what you meant with the last 100 meters. Enough said, good work and congratulations!

      @@charliesolazzo49 Honestly I’ve learned hard work doesn’t always translate well with everything. I put in a ton of work for cross country and I got nothing in return but a time of 18:12 which sucked because I had like 450+ miles on that summer as a sophomore. Before sophomore year I’ve only ran 800 once and I hated it but my teammates pushed me to do it again and all of sudden I felt everything come together as I ran 2:10 the first indoor meet of the year. I think it was more so finding what event my body was the best at which is why experimenting with events are important. I’m reality I’m like one of the worst at workouts on the distance varsity squad but my race times were 2nd best for the 800 against the people crushing me in workouts. Not that I wasn’t putting in work I just sucked at repetition workouts and all that. Just put in the hard work and believe in yourself which helped me. So if you put in hardwork and it seems like nothing is working out try something new like hurdles or etc. Or even keeping putting the hardwork in and it may payoff, but in my case it didn’t. I still run XC, I ran 17:32 but I’m excited to get back on the track soon!

      @@ncdiscus6449 HOLY CRAP THAT WAS MY SAME XC PR THIS FRIKCIN YEAR SOPHOMORE YEEAR!! BROO I RELATE TO YOU SO MUCH. I had put in as well over 400 miles this summer, going up to 60 miles per week, ran 18:14 as a PR. I really want to go sub 2 outdoor, and you did so, so I wanted to know what improved you the most, and like how did you train to get there

      @@charliesolazzo49 Lmaooo haha, that’s funny. But work on that first lap it never hurts to get out fast in my opinion and stay strong during that first 100 of the 2nd lap. But definitely work on that first lap I even split one time with 60s but usually getting out in 56-59 never hurts because in reality your second lap will never ever be as fast as your first. Also we did things like 800m repeats, hill sprints, and max speed 8 second sprints are important for speed. Also take your easy days easy like I go 9:40 pace on easy days to recover no need to even go sub 8 honestly on easy days. Mostly the week was 2 workouts a week during the winter and then meets came and made that one workout. But yeah that’s most of it! Ask more questions if you want!

    • @charliesolazzo49
      @charliesolazzo49 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ncdiscus6449 Thanks man. I really appreciate it. Do you know what mileage you maxed out at, and when did you start doing workouts (like how many weeks into training?) And you said you went sub 2, and did you race other races (like 400 + 1600 + or 3200?). My goal is to go sub 2 this year, and after a crappy XC I want to just kill it wherever I can and maximize my potential. Also on easy days, did you do strides everyday, or a couple times per week of those 8 second sprints? Sorry for a lot of questions, I know that you did what I want to achieve so I want to learn what you did (because that's crazy improvement)
