      That's really cool. I'd love to have been able to be around those big crawlers when they were new.

    Yeah, this was the first time he had used the plow. There is always adjusting needed the first time.

    That's really a puller. Don't see a lot of those crawlers down here in the south. Wonder where they are used more in the country? That AC is walking right off with that 7 bottom breaking plow. Bet it could take an 8 bottom breaking plow just as well.

      They were used a lot in the Pacific Northwest for farming sidehills. Some people there still use the steel tracked crawlers as a matter of fact

    • @nellsonstout7001
      @nellsonstout7001 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And you don’t see them much because the articulated 4wd was the direct replacement for many crawlers

    All year Allison Representatives I've currently worked on most of the Allison Crawlers most the time it's fuel or power or power relay switches. For all y'all that are working on these tractors a little care goes a long way. Always start off talking to the machine seeing on where she's at for the day. Never hook up starter backwards you'll fry the main power ground. Always make sure tractor is in neutral. On them idler pulleys if your pulleys are bad I'm a structural welder and I can fix your idler pulley what you do did you put it on a rotating table and spin it and you weld on the inside of the race. It's hard to get them true but you'll never notice 1/8 on a tractor

    I agree with the other comments - if you take the trouble to renovate a tractor and plough and take them to a venue, surely a part of that process is setting the plough up properly. Its a shame to see tractor drivers playing at ploughing and not bothering to do it properly. Its only a matter of cranking a handle after all, and much more important than trying to show how fast the tractor will go!

    • @RJ1999x

      I would think as an expert you would know the depth was fine, he just needed to.slide the tractor to the left for the front bottom to cut right!

    • @johnfearnley7712
      @johnfearnley7712 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@RJ1999x No the depth wasn't fine! The plough was a lot deeper on the rear furrow than on the front. Surely he could see that from the seat. Why take the trouble to take the outfit to a venue and then not set it up, as has been said!

    • @RJ1999x
      @RJ1999x 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@johnfearnley7712 I've set more plows and plowed more land then you could imagine, if he slid to the right so the front bottom was cutting correctly, or moved the plow hitch to the left it would have been fine.

      @@RJ1999x I'm Manorfarmdenton though Google calls me by name. RJ, you think that if it makes you happy :o) When I worked on a farm and ploughed with a crawler I'd have got the sack for doing a job like that.

      @@johnfearnley7712 Everyone is an expert here on the net. Not sure why having farm in your name makes you an authority on plows. My guess is that's his second round, or he maybe following another plow not set correctly. My goal in life isn't to go on TH-cam and criticize people out learning, or having fun.
