cobra was the dream car since I wad 12 and now I have it at 16, its not just a new edge honestly just depends if you actually have the love for it or not. another mustang would be something newer but with the cobra you have fun I daily drive it and get love everywhere I go lol but everyone has an opinion and honestly cobra is the best 1st car I could have ever purchased.
Well the difference here is, he’s had multiple cars before the cobra that he got to experience. If had a cobra after blue 2v, it would be a different story. Being it’s your first car, that car feels crazy. My 2v new edge was the craziest thing to me. Now I have some diesel trucks/s550 that would make that 2v look like it’s sitting still. But regardless, cobra is one of my dream cars as well, especially growing up and first 2 cars both being new edges, it’s hard for me to look past them. I just think the bar was set so high for them, and ruined with the comfort/reliability/and power of the today age of muscle car.

Next car I'm buying since they are discontinued is a hellcat. I think since they are being discontinued it will also hold its value. I plan on holding onto one for 30-40 years, enjoying it and still getting my money out of it. Time will tell if that really happens though lol!
Cobra's overhyped? It's a limited edition car. Not a cookie cutter car that you constantly see everywhere all the time. The problem is, you had a different reason for needing the car than others do. Your job is to be up on the "current thing" and right now automatic S550's are the current thing. We get it. But in no world EVER will any S550 aside from the GT350 and maybe the GT500 be a beloved and collectible as a Terminator.

Got my 10 speed a week ago “came from a 3v” and as a daily it’s just a great car for street driving and just a e85 tune on tires can run low:mid 11s at the track which is just crazy
The first Mustang I ever drive was a 65 with a 289 a friend had in high school. Then shortly after a 91 GT. To my experience, Mustang’s didn’t really get better than the Fox until the S197 came out in 05, and that car was a significant advancement over the new edge. Just a much better car. I still have my 08 GT and it will never go anywhere but the reality is the S550 is far and away a better car in almost every way, it just doesn’t speak to me like the S197. The reality is every new generation is a much better car than the previous one. It just depends on which one caught you at a certain point in time and imprinted on you. More than likely I will and up getting an S650 as the ICE Mustang comes to an end in the late 20’s as it will be the last of its kind.
While I do agree that the s197 is better than the new edge by a lot the new edge mustangs are still really awesome. With the right exhaust setup with an off-road x-pipe they sound awesome and they are completely customizable. I have owned three new edge mustang and I loved all of them. I currently owned a 2002 GT but this will be the last one I own. I plan on supercharging and doing a mild build on this one and then I'm going to sell it and get my first coyote mustang.
If Ford didn't cheap out and actually offered the Tremec 3160, 6 speed manual with the GT I would have taken it. In the meantime the 10 spd auto will do.
You’re right, I used to fume over on my black 2021 bmw 318i g20 daily car being too quiet, lacking power for a bmw, and lacking a good exhaust sound. Now that I got my black 2019 Ford Mustang GT last month, I’m beginning to appreciate my bmw 318i more when I just want to drive a quieter daily comfort car. Rest well man, it’s the heat and sudden change of weather that’s getting you. Here, the rainy season is giving a lot of people the flu. Not to mention a bad rainy Sunday run on a highway. Do try to keep your original mags and headlights, makes it easier for you to sell/trade the Mustang in the future. Again, rest well, take lots of liquids, and watch some Netflix or some TH-cams.
Debated between 03 cobra and 2013 5.0 and ended up getting a 5.0. I recently drove a cobra and im glad i didnt get one. Absolutely love cobras but it's still a new edge and I'm not a fan of the t56.

03/04 cobra people are different. This guy didn’t grow up watching them on horsepower TV, seeing them come in the dealer etc. I have a 29k 04 cobra and I’ll never get rid of it. Hardly “ just another new edge” enjoy a mass production mustang GT.

Was shooting for next year, but may have a wait just a little longer, but its definitely in the plans. Ready for that FBO life for bit, then playing around with boost.
Iv owned a few foxbodys, a cammed vmp 03 cobra, and a gen3 s550 with the mt82. But as a 17yr old with a 03 cobra that had a bunch of work i just couldn’t afford to keep driving it because of the little issue that had to be fixed all the time. I settled for a foxbody due to the ease of working on it and they are not crazy expensive to built to go fast. The s550 on the other hand was probably the most boring sports/muscle car iv ever drove. They have no personality imo the feel like your driving around a couch on wheels. I guess thats not a bad thing for some people. All in all if I could afford building a cobra like I want id definitely choose it over any other mustang… Cobras are special cars and you dont see them everyday it not every week or month. Thats what does it for me
i have a 19 GT in orange fury with 10r80 its got 27k miles so far and these 3 years ive owned have been a blast. i love the orange flakes on it and it doesnt hurt that i got it cheap for 28,500 lol. i also drove the MT82 and i just went with the 10r80 these modal years they really dropped the ball in terms of reliability on the manuals

The s550 10 speed are starting to grow on me. We go to Mustang week and PITS and see a lot of them. I recently lost my 04 Mach 1 in a garage fire so on the hunt for a replacement. I've been looking at getting a classic, a fox body, another new edge or jumping into a 10 speed gt. Thoughts?
Picking up a 2018 10 spd PP1 tomorrow. Getting pretty psyched! Had a 2015 Ecoboost Premium PP 6r80; I like the S550. Im 57 now and the auto and independent rear are well, important considerations. Nice video.
I bought a new 2021 mustang gt shadow black pp1 package 401a with magnaride suspension, only thing missing is recaro seats on may 2021 I bought a jlt closed box cold air intake on lmr website and put on a h pipe from Mrt performance in Plymouth Michigan and that car sounds amazing just subscribe to you channel because you have almost the same car as mine
Your too young man. You can’t truly appreciate a terminator for what it is if you didn’t grow up with it. I graduated in 2004 so I lived through ALL that! This was when street fire vids when TH-cam wasn’t even popular. The terminator is a car that will retain the label “legend” and “American Supra” etc. S550 is a cool modern mustang, but truth is they are dime a dozen mustangs. And I grew up through those mustangs too and never cared for them 🤷🏼♂️ Boy do I feel old after typing this!🙈

I’d guess mine cause you never see them, there special cars. 100% truth. When you are at the track and going 12s in the 1/4 it will be a fraction of a second quicker. Since most people don't live at the track and daily their car most will prefer a manual.
This car needs that Trevor sauce from tricky performance!!! Best tuner for the 10 speeds ! I personally have had my car tune by different tuners and so far Trevor has had my car at the full potential
💯You should think about the Ford Power Pack 2, I put it in my car 2 days ago ,what a nice difference, it's the way the car should have come from Ford . ... it calms the transmission down instead of it bouncing all over into every gear, it finds a gear and pretty much stays in it , not to mention the car is snappier and all around feels better, certainly the cold air intake looks better, give it a try if you got $1,000 laying around.. you will love it for the transmission alone ,everything else is gravy.
Booooo. It's not just another new edge dude. It's the legacy, story, journey and achievement that make the cobra terminator something special. The story behind that car and the legacy it still has are what make it special. S550s and the like are everywhere and no matter what you do you will always have the same thing everyone else has. It's just a common sight. The cobra terminator is something you hardly see, let alone the story behind them. Check out the Iron fist lead foot book. Will give you a whole new appreciation for why they aren't just any old new edge.
Manuals were better many years ago... That's how I learned to drive at all, on a manual, and had several manual cars. But today, auto's are easier, faster, etc... There is a reason why Lambo, Ferrari, McLaren and some of the other fastest cars in the world, got rid of the 1970's manual. Most of the people claiming it's more engaging and fun, are kids. To them, an auto is "new" because they grew up in an auto world. Just like a rotary phone or a manual can opener, they feel like its a new and exciting discovery, while people like myself are like, we drove manuals for decades, its outdated, we did our time, lets move on to something better... LOL The 10 speed is one of the best autos on the market right now, and with the push of a button you switch to paddles, so you still have manual mode, you just don't have a clutch pedal. You are in complete control, you control what gear you are in, how long it holds it, get all the engine braking, etc... Best of both worlds.
I love you video and love your car I had a friend with a 2019 just like it I'll be done was put a loan tune 373 gears and springs on the back believe it or not it runs seven 48 on the highway on motor no headers no airbox everything stopped Xbox 373 gears 2 that's all so you need to go see midnight get you a lantern let them throw you a set of turbos or supercharger and you will really fly like a bird

Everyone wants to take the easy route and no one wants to build their own cars anymore. To say an 03-04 Cobra is just another new edge is ridiculous. That car was ahead of its time and still holds its own to this very day. But I guess when you just go out and buy someone else's build it might seem that way 🤷🏾♂️

@@IsaacRebel Or just be in S and drag mode using the paddles. No need for all this shift shuffle and did this combined 4yrs with 6r80 and 10r80 myself. Also when in S mode, most people dong know that if you stab the gas pedal to the floor one time, the car will downshift itself to the lowest gear and hold it there for you about 3-5 sec.
@@jpat99 i used to do the stab thing but its really hard during actual road racing both trying to get a right mph especially on a countdown when the stab only downshifts to lowest gear but only holds for like 3 seconds
This is the stock exhaust sound when he is leaving the dealership. It sounds so good. I'm in no hurry to mod the exhaust. The active exhaust in my 2023 GT 5.0 sounds amazing bone stock.

While I do agree that the mustang Cobra is a legendary car, after only three new edge mustang I could never upgrade to the Cobra cuz I just feel like the only thing I'm getting is the 4 valve motor, and that's just not enough to get me interested. I'm ready for coyote motor after the GT I own now, because that'll be a very big change from a new edge.

@@allenburrola5882 first time I’ve seen someone with the same last name in the wild, neat! Anyways I have a C6 Z06, be aware of all the work/things you need to look after with the LS7. Selling mine because the motor’s stress inducing, especially without warranty.
Play around with the 0-60s. Get a DragE. If u use the paddle shifters for the 1-2 shifts despite what others say it'll allow it to go to a higher rpm and shaving off a tenth or 2. U have to time tin perfectly or ul bounce off the rev limited or short shift. Trust me. Try it out. Only paddle shifter 1-2 and play with 2-3. If u notice 1-2 the computer makes it shift early. Look into it. U may be surprised. Believe me I know the car shifts better than anyone can from 3+ and up cause it actually redlines.
@@DerekBaranProductions yes sir. Try it out. I literally drove my car like I rented it daily. Bought it 2020 GT in 2021 and sold it in 2022 with 59k miles. I did so many 0-60s, doughnuts, a little drifting and burnouts in those less than 60k. That drivetrain in bullet proof. U definitely oughta get it tuned. 156 ish is where the limiter cuts u off. If ur out running the streets and get flashed by the 5-0 that 155 isn't enough to get away from just about any police cruiser. U oughta get a top of the line radar detector too. They will save u 95% of the time. My uniden long range works up to 2 miles away. Only time it hasn't saved me from jail or tickets is when the cops use visual radar. U can get a cool rear view mirror clip that hides it under the rear view which prevents cops from automatically seeing it. Love ur content. Much love respect and admiration. Keep up the great work. 💯You should think about the Ford Power Pack 2, I put it in my car 2 days ago ,what a nice difference, it's the way the car should have come from Ford . ... it calms the transmission down instead of it bouncing all over into every gear, it finds a gear and pretty much stays in it , not to mention the car is snappier and all around feels better, certainly the cold air intake looks better, give it a try if you got $1,000 laying around.. you will love it for the transmission alone ,everything else is gravy.
I’m 3 years into owning mine. 401a digital dash valve exhaust and have a vortech kit waiting for installation.

Manuals were better many years ago... That's how I learned to drive at all, on a manual, and had several manual cars.
But today, auto's are easier, faster, etc... There is a reason why Lambo, Ferrari, McLaren and some of the other fastest cars in the world, got rid of the 1970's manual.
Most of the people claiming it's more engaging and fun, are kids. To them, an auto is "new" because they grew up in an auto world. Just like a rotary phone or a manual can opener, they feel like its a new and exciting discovery, while people like myself are like, we drove manuals for decades, its outdated, we did our time, lets move on to something better... LOL
The 10 speed is one of the best autos on the market right now, and with the push of a button you switch to paddles, so you still have manual mode, you just don't have a clutch pedal. You are in complete control, you control what gear you are in, how long it holds it, get all the engine braking, etc... Best of both worlds.
I love you video and love your car I had a friend with a 2019 just like it I'll be done was put a loan tune 373 gears and springs on the back believe it or not it runs seven 48 on the highway on motor no headers no airbox everything stopped Xbox 373 gears 2 that's all so you need to go see midnight get you a lantern let them throw you a set of turbos or supercharger and you will really fly like a bird

Everyone wants to take the easy route and no one wants to build their own cars anymore. To say an 03-04 Cobra is just another new edge is ridiculous. That car was ahead of its time and still holds its own to this very day. But I guess when you just go out and buy someone else's build it might seem that way 🤷🏾♂️

A roll racing tip is to drop down to 2nd and upshift to 3rd but keep the paddle held down and it will kick it back to auto
@@IsaacRebel Or just be in S and drag mode using the paddles. No need for all this shift shuffle and did this combined 4yrs with 6r80 and 10r80 myself. Also when in S mode, most people dong know that if you stab the gas pedal to the floor one time, the car will downshift itself to the lowest gear and hold it there for you about 3-5 sec.
@@jpat99 i used to do the stab thing but its really hard during actual road racing both trying to get a right mph especially on a countdown when the stab only downshifts to lowest gear but only holds for like 3 seconds

While I do agree that the mustang Cobra is a legendary car, after only three new edge mustang I could never upgrade to the Cobra cuz I just feel like the only thing I'm getting is the 4 valve motor, and that's just not enough to get me interested. I'm ready for coyote motor after the GT I own now, because that'll be a very big change from a new edge.

Play around with the 0-60s. Get a DragE. If u use the paddle shifters for the 1-2 shifts despite what others say it'll allow it to go to a higher rpm and shaving off a tenth or 2. U have to time tin perfectly or ul bounce off the rev limited or short shift. Trust me. Try it out. Only paddle shifter 1-2 and play with 2-3. If u notice 1-2 the computer makes it shift early. Look into it. U may be surprised. Believe me I know the car shifts better than anyone can from 3+ and up cause it actually redlines.

@@DerekBaranProductions yes sir. Try it out. I literally drove my car like I rented it daily. Bought it 2020 GT in 2021 and sold it in 2022 with 59k miles. I did so many 0-60s, doughnuts, a little drifting and burnouts in those less than 60k. That drivetrain in bullet proof.
U definitely oughta get it tuned. 156 ish is where the limiter cuts u off. If ur out running the streets and get flashed by the 5-0 that 155 isn't enough to get away from just about any police cruiser. U oughta get a top of the line radar detector too. They will save u 95% of the time. My uniden long range works up to 2 miles away. Only time it hasn't saved me from jail or tickets is when the cops use visual radar. U can get a cool rear view mirror clip that hides it under the rear view which prevents cops from automatically seeing it. Love ur content. Much love respect and admiration. Keep up the great work.
