1:40 does anyone know how to recreate the standard multiband compression setup VR is talking about, for that kind of gluing things together? How could one recreate it in fabfilter Pro MB for example? Or is it just default OTT with small depth?
Hello, brotha, I'm Stevo =D .. I would like to recommend trying something, granted I normally use Reaktor for my frequency calculations, also, I will avoid using mathematical terms as much as possible, but... Anyway, the distance between your wave forms will need to be dialed in a bit and your low frequency oscillator needs to be a specific factor of the higher oscillator, and you will need to use the frequency to the 3rd decimal place. Essentially the 2 frequencies need to be 4 octaves apart, but you have to make sure they are exact, and it is STUPIDLY hard to use the fine tune and do it by ear, but you can. Moving on, you are then going to want to calculate the interval between the 2 notes so if your low note is 53.465 which is 855.44 for the high frequency which puts the frequency of the interval @801.975 which should be used for 2 things, a notch filter and a 3rd oscillator. the notch filter should then be used on the sum of all three oscillators but only for the purpose of using that signal as the FM modulation source, if that is above your pay grade, you can just use the notch on the sum of the 2 channels and it does still sound good, but less unique, and definitely less expensive. Good luck brotha, happy producing, I got some pretty high level tutorials on routing techniques and proper industry standard leveling Techniques, and I will be doing a series on using reverb as a utility here shortly...And a few more sound modelling methods as well..
