    one of the best tuts i've ever seen, usually after I study a tut it's pretty hard to immediately implement the design techniques in a way that sounds good AND unique, but this time i have what is most likely the best drop i've ever made within an hour of watching this vid!! i've watched a ton of tuts on creating movement and using different filters in basses, but this video just clicks more, not to mention learning a couple tricks i've never seen before. 10/10

      @@HAKOBO also, serum FX is commonly explained as being used on audio tracks, but it's pretty easy to set up midi triggering on the plugin to route the midi signal to the plugin. i think i saw that on a Kompany bass design video.

    This is so sick. Just hit record, start playing with different modulations and tweaking different parameters will give you a huge library of awesome sounding bits and pieces to chuck into a sampler and go to town. I so prefer working with resampled audio clips captured while tweaking things around as opposed to trying to record full lines with midi and automating the parameters I want tweaked. That method seems to be a lot easier on the old cpu as well.

    • @HAKOBO
      @HAKOBO  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Plus you tend to find more happy accidents messing around in record than you do trying to be intentional about shaping your sound. Rock on!

    @Hakobo Amazing tutorial! At 4:16 right after you type in 50 how do you get the blue bar to line up so the start of it is lined up with your cutoff line? It sounds like you hit a hot key possibly but I am not 100% sure. When I am trying to adjust the blue line its always split right in the middle of the cut off value. Same with at 5:53 it sounds like possibly hot keys as well. How do you get the blue bar to be the whole knob? When I turn it to 12 oclock the blue bar does not go past 12 on the bottom instead of the full knob.

    Great video bro! Love how you explained the method behind recording out your session, and taking snippets from it to create your own bass jam sample pack. Question tho: I've seen this style of using LFO modulation in a lot of people's workflow, but I've also seen people use macros instead. When would you choose to use one or the other, and would you prefer to create two different patches, or just use both macros and LFOs in the same instance?

    Lol. One thing I’m noticing is that I’ve like partially nailed the neuro bass. But, that’s it. Lmfao. I swear, the best tutorials out there’s are from au5, and he’s a neuro s tier. Now, I’ve just been listening to like Barely Alive, and some of those basses are nostalgic. After some research, I’ve kinda realized why half of bass tutorials show you how to make neuro basses. 90% of the other sounds boil down to an extremely Agro wave table and a cmb- filter. And the more fancy versions of that are essentially “classic bass in the osc tab. Neuro in the fx tab.” It’s always cool to find parallels between different sounds in edm. So now my biiiiggest problem is making cool leads. I have like a dooope stack for leads I made in patcher. But, I starting to abuse that shit. It’s, to me, the perfect lead. Subjective, sure but, whenever I get to a keyboard solo or a lead in general, I can bring myself to use anything else. So, I think I need to watch this video. Get some help. Than focus on other elements. Cuz, I prolly only thing this lead is so good because, I got into edm production 10 years ago thanks to skrillex and, stacked my whole ass skill tree in bass design, when I couldn’t make a house lead to save my life….like. I could. But, it wouldn’t be good. Really, I just need to make some lead templates in serum. Or patcher. Honestly, I’ve been really messing with gms and processing for leads in patcher. Cuz, I can’t stress enough, how much doper it is to do pitch bends with native plugins. And I don’t have harmor. So Yee. But for now. Gib meh moar bace sirskie.

    • @jacksonlaframboise6257
      @jacksonlaframboise6257 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh damn. Ya liked it. Lemme elaborate. I have by no means nailed the neuro bass. But, relative to the rest of my sound design abilities, it’s the overly swoll right arm of a teenager to my music production skills.

      @@HAKOBO Dude, thank you so much for your reply. I just want to clarify- At around 4:13, you modulate the frequency on the filter omnidirectionally, then you modulate it positively right after that.
