Looks very nice, the drywall on the bottom though I think you'll regret moisture and grease from cooking will tend to collect there, and be absorbed by the drywall. a stainless panel or panels would be better local machine shops can likely cut you what you're need.

I am always truly in awe of the work and projects you accomplish. And while I would never take on a project like that myself, I feel a sense of pride when I watch you do it. You rock, Stefani. Loved seeing you and Devin work on the hood together. Take care and stay safe. Thanks for sharing. 💓🛠

I have to admit I wasn’t crazy about the green tiles at first, but now that everything has all come together I actually love it.

The way you went about the framing for this was cool. Not so excited about the drywall finish though. Some sanded and painted birch plywood would have made the finish much smoother and less of a mess than drywall. Otherwise. Cool.

I was thinking the same. You can see the screws and some of isn’t smooth. I expect that it’s not finished yet

You cannot conceal an outlet like that in the hood without access. Improper wiring . 🧐

The flexible ductwork is against code. That will be a pain to have to re-do.

Great video. I have the same hood insert you used. I was advised to go with sheet rock dry joint compound as opposed to the premix all purpose because I was told it cracks and shrinks more. Have you noticed that? If you could do it over would you do anything different?

    This is certainly very custom,
But im quite sure that when you'd be cooking all smell, gasses etc will be staying in your kitchen. They won't really escape much.
Height is too much and coverage area is small too, (compared to you cooking stove).
But that being said if that is your preference, then i guess its good. But if not your preference, then ideally one should have stove on wall (not island) and have it ducted fully to outside. No matter how strong motor you put, this method just cannot be as effective as stove and duct, rangegood on the wall.
