    I’ve been feeding wild lorikeets for a few months , they are the most adorable creatures in the world ...

    I'm trying to imagine how many projectile rainbow poops will be there to greet you when you get home 😂

      I've gotten into a daily routine now of cleaning up after this colourful character. He's very high maintenance, like having a child all over again. But worth it, love him to bits

    A year later, my bird barely pays any attention to the cat. we kept one of her kittens so mother cat and son play, sleep together all the time :)

    That is dangerous to let a bird and a cat or dog alone they will try to eat the bird

    is the bird still alive ?

      My bird followed our 2 cats along the fenceline (as he usually does) last October. Within a matter of minutes there was a catfight with a neighbouring stray. I never saw my bird again :( It broke my heart. There was no feathers or anything, he just disappeared. Door knocking, putting up rewards, posters to no avail

      @@JaneMoreland could he fly?

    • @JaneMoreland
      @JaneMoreland  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@massivemagoo I'd only just clipped one of his wings the day before as he was flying quite a distance and I didn't want to risk not getting him back. Since I lost him, it took a year for me to get over him. My children bought me another one 15months ago- George. I don't let George out of the house and give him as much freedom as my first bird. But I don't clip his wings either, so he can fly inside. A painful lesson to learn

      I’m really sorry for your loss. I got a rainbow lorikeet a few months back and she is the best thing in my life. I never realised that I could love an animal so much... I hope all is going well with George

      @@greyace6608 my cat and bird still have the most amazing loving friendship and bond.
      Im so happy you got a lorikeet, aren't they just amazing birds! Their personalities are so funny- naughty, adventurous, boisterous, loving.
      Like no bird I've ever experienced before.
      We have 2 cats and a dog, but my lorikeet is my baby. He knows I'm his mum, and he loves his siblings- our cats, more than the wild lorikeets who come down daily to feed and visit
