I like your Christmas tree with all the colors! I found some at a art supply store last year but I check two weeks ago and they are sold out. I was disappointed they stopped making them. I was hoping they would increase the colors! I can only imagine how expensive they are to make that’s a lot of watercolor pigment! Thank you for sharing! Fran
Thank you, Fran - that was a fun tree. :-) You can still get them on eBay, but they're becoming quite rare and expensive. I saw only two listings for them today.
I think they discontinued theese and the art bars when they released the Intense sticks and pencils. I think that is too bad, because at least the art bars had way better lightfastnes than the inkense. The aquatone I never tried. They look lovely though. And yes that cat is adorable.
I have two pencils of that type that I really like, a green and a red I bought 5 years ago in Germany. They are Cretacolor aquamonolith. Koh I Noor does also watercolour woodless pencils. Have a great week. V.
@@MirandaWatsonArt i 'm sorry for intruding with my comment just like this, but i just wanna say a few words about this type of crayons. I have few Aquatones from an old set of Derwent WC collection (basically, half of your tin, i believe)), few Cretacolor's sticks and a set of Koh-i-Noor Progresso. As far as I can compare them, Progresso was the softest, brightest and cleanest in wash between 3. Cretacolor's are ok overall, but they are weak and sometimes muddy in wash, blending poorly, and leaving annoying ghostmarks which I find unbearable in watercolor pencils. (if i pay for watercolor pencil, i want it to be sometimes watercolor and sometimes pencil, but not both in the same time) So, their only advantage is their color range, quite wide for woodless pencils, 72 shades i believe. Still, its not so unique, and its fairly comparable to FC Dürer's range. So, regardless for being woodless, I see no reason for buying them. I didn't appreciate neither Derwents. They are too hard, pale and waxy for me. ( oh, maybe I'm just so lucky to get mines from a spoiled batch) Still, they are much clearer then straight, very opaque, Derwent WC pencils. Overall, I find all of 3 woodless pencils ranges much harder, dryer, weaker then the "normal" range of the same brand. And there's always a question of price and accessibility, so in a way, thinking of all the 3 ranges quite moderate performance, i believe there's no need to run for this or those pencils, just keep using those you've already have fun with. Yeah, there's something about having a discontinued art supply that makes me feel kinda happy, lol. I've always wanted the pH Martin's Bleedproof White, but I always forget about it until I see someone using it again. I'm going to add it to my Christmas list right now! I love your Christmas videos!
