Is there any way to create object to path in the cutout? Need to burn the created shape and text on a CNC Plasma and this method doesn't recognize the text.
This is a great tutorial - no question! However, if I follow the steps and I cut out some text from a shape for some reason it is not saved in the SVG after closing Inkscape. As a result, my OS displays an unaffected preview thumbnail without any cut out text. I am aware, this is probably a noob question, but what am I missing?
Thanks for the video, but how do i save this so when i import to design space i dont end up with a square box filled with color? as this is what im ending up with unless i save file as a .png
Informative videos. I have been watching your setups for gimp and have come to a halt on loading raw files in gimp. I have dartable installed as well as RawTherapee. I get this error. " Gimp Massage Calling error for procedure 'gimp-file-load': Error opening file /tmp/gimp/2.10/gimp-temp-276760.tif: No such file or directory" and under that I get "Gimp Message Opening '/home/david/Downloads/test/DSC_4375.NEF' failed: Raw Nikon plug-in could not open image"

@@krystennawomack9724 that’s a shame as I can’t really afford to pay the monthly fee for that programme , only way I can manage to do this is to save as a .png but I think then I lose quality. Thanks anyway.

Hey David - I am not quite sure what issue you are experiencing there. I'm guessing you watched my tutorial on how to open RAW images in GIMP?

@@ramijali6964 you may also want to look into FreeCAD. But I have seen CNC content for Inkscape as well.
I can do it in Inkscape. But when I save it and try to open in design space. I will not show the name.

Just click on the text you want to remove with the select tool, then hit the delete key
