let me begin this comment by saying that i love gimp. i've been working with it for about 20 years. converting text to a circle path has vexed me the entire time. this video was extremely helpful. thank you! although i do wish a simple "text to circle" type of function, perhaps in the text tool options was available.
I think I figured it out. What I did was for the bottom text, flipped the selection before I text along path. That worked for me. Nice video by the way!
Say could make a video of how to make different shaped text?.. Afterall, your explanation with clear concise instructions really made a difference with me. Others were too hurried in my opinion...

Nicely explained and it worked like a charm. I am stuck in the next step tho. I figured that I need to experiment with the font size and thickness on the round text. I could make it thicker using the stroke selection or grow. But how do I increase the font size of the round text?
This program is so goddam convoluted! My text disappears when i try to rotate it. No matter what I do, I can't see what I'm working with.. Why does it have to be so cumbersome to write text in a circle?`????
For the first line it worked but the second line kept going wonky and wouldn't cooperate. I don't know what I did wrong but your tutorial didn't cover that
Flipping won't work for me. (gimp 2.10), rotating will rotate the whole layers and not only the selected one... Not working for me unfortunately, thanks for the effeort tho.
Sorry, the hard part of this, fixing the upside down text was glossed over, and the explanation was not very thorough. It actually left me very confused, and the demonstration was incomplete from what I saw. I wish I could have given you a thumbs up.
This video is screwed up too. Does not work whatsoever. When you go to rotate the "Top Line" the crosshair is rotating on a weird axis in the top right corner. It is NOT centered. Downvoted video for once again missing important steps.

the round text is a path and no longer a text that you can edit. only solution is to edit your initial text field and do "text along path" again.
i select text along path but it puts it above .. is it the font itself?
Nice guide, but it gives the text heavy stretching artifacts. Is there a way to avoid this?

it works for the top layer but when i try to do the bottom text and i add text to paths it scrambles the words and idk how to unscramble them

in the rotating tool you have to select that it uses paths instead of layers

i can help you. when click to rotate, a small circle appears in the rotation fulcrum and you can simply click and moves it to where you want.
