EASY creature PUPPET eye mechanism

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 29 ต.ค. 2019
- I came up with a super simple puppet eye mechanism. This could be used for your cosplay, movieshoot, halloween, theater or other stage shows.
I hope you like it, if you have an idea how to improve the design tell me in a comment. What are you gonna do with your pair of eyes?? See you next week, have fun making, Julian
I just found this channel and I must say I’m extremely happy, my dream job is working in animatronic props/characters, but I had no knowledge of the creation process previously. So excited to learn more (:
Thats the stuff! thats what all this is for! yes! yesyesyesyes!!!
Now I have the knowledge to make something that I know I'll never make
This has been a good visualization and planning source for a cosplay thing I’m wanting to try.
I already had a very basic idea of how the eyelids and eyes and orbits all worked, but it’s very nice to see it in action.
Great video! Makes me wish there were more puppetry/puppet building tutorials for creature shop style puppets.
Amazing discovery! Thank you for sharing. I at the same time hate that it gives me so much ideas
I've been looking for something like this! Thank you!
That's what I like to hear!
Me too!
Just learning an easier way to make centered perfect circles on spheres was worth the watch for me. The whole build definitely earned the like and sub.
This is exactly what I was looking for thank you! I want to make a giant face art piece/ club where you enter through the mouth and the eyes stare at you when u move
That actually sounds interesting! I wish you luck!
Thank you so much for making this video! I'm so glad I found your channel, I've been trying to figure out a more efficient eye mech for a while, and this is way more simple than what I was designing, but much more effective lol 😊 ❤
super great looking movable eyes !
That is the simplest I set up I have ever seen I like it very much
Very cool and informative, thank you!
So incredibly helpful.
This is amazing! Thanks for the tutorial, it's going to be really helpful!
Extremely helpful!
Amazing work.
Excellent video and build! Will help me with something I'm working on.
Excellent!
Absolutely FANTASTIC video…thank you so very much for sharing this. I am just beginning to explore large head puppet/costume mask and while I had resigned to fixed eyes in the mask, your video has immediately inspired ideas to take our future mask to another level.
Same here, I made some masks with fixed eyes and also started a big one before exploring this mechanism.. (Check out my recent short to see what I mean) Now I can't go back with that project D: ...anyway. So happy to help :)
The sharpie line technique is brilliant
I was quiet proud of myself too 😂
Amazing 💯
No es lo que buscaba pero es muy interesante. Gracias! 👍
EXELENTE TRABAJO!
Muchas gracias. Super 🎉
Thank you. I had the basic idea, but the plastic half globe on the back of the eye was the missing bit.
Your Awesome Thanks!
Espectacular felicidades
The intro claps made me happy. Lol
Yeeeeaaaaahh!! It took a while to pay off but here we are :D thank you so much!
@@AnarchyAutomatons thank you for the mechanical inspiration. I've made a puppet with blinking, now I want one with blinking and eye movement. You've helped tremendously.
Really cool man i left a like for you. This will help me in making a G-virus action figure in the future .
fantastic work :)
thanks a lot dear, if you subscribe you will get more of this, plus if i ever meet you, you'll get a free cone of ice cream.
sweet job
good job.
I'm actually making a ventriloquist puppet from scratch and needed info on eyes mechanism.
doesn't work the same but gave me ideas.
have a nice one!
Awesome. You have a channel?
@@AnarchyAutomatons no i don't have a channel.
I see. If you post your work somewhere let me know
Thank you so much
How could you make them move by remote control if you wanted to wear them as a mask though? 😮
Saludos desde Costa Rica
It would be cool to see these eyes in action. Do you have any videos that show them being used in a movie or video? Nice work. The details are awesome
Just a couple more days till i will upload exactly that. Stay tuned, its gonna be a good one... i think
Bro thank you so much
This is a good tutorial, thank you for posting, but you should add a health warning about burning Styrofoam with a soldering iron. When I did it, it released a ton of smoke and the fumes gave me an immediate headache. I don't have a setup with a fume hood, and I imagine a number of people don't either.
Thank you 🙂
Very well done
Thank you so much. Means a lot!
12:45 now to make it so you can pinch and push the eyes togeather and apart.
Very smart
fun!
Amazing video! I loved it.
I'd like to understand more how to control with Arduino and servo motors, is possible to move in horizontal and vertical?
I feel like i could attach the bar to the top of a head piece for inside a costume, then the eyes would move wherever my head was pointed.
thanks
Hi, quite interesting video. I would like to know have you completed a puppet using this eye movement? As the eye balls looks big so has to be the face of the puppet. I wanted to know the manipulation of eyes n mouth after completion of the puppet. If you have done so kindly post the same
Great video, but can you list the products used and whereto obtain them?
Fun fact: this is 99% accurate to tue mechanisms on the thomas the tank engine props. Eoth servos to controll the eyes, this will help me make my mechanism
Omg thanks I’m making a animatronic
Muy bonito éste mecanismo y de éstos som los que mucho tiempo vengo buscando para COMPRAR. Me puede explicar como hago?. (Soy de Colombia) gracias.
I thought this guy was Chris Pratt doing this eye ball tutorial. Hah.. 👁👁
Where can i buy thw mechanism thay will move the eyes automatic?
Buwnas tardes. deseo comprar éste MECANISMO DE OJOS. cómo hago por favor explíqueme.
Can you please list where you can get the parts from
Thx i will make my robot
If you put this Mechanism on a control stick dummy how would you build it
Great video, really helpful. My son is working on a project and this really helps with trouble shooting some of the eye movement issues. Where did you get the plastic eye coverings?
They’re clear acrylic Christmas baubles if that helps you find them where you’re located :)
Love this video! One question, can this mechanism incorporate a blinking eye mechanism too? Thanks 😃
i think its a little too barebone looking back. if you have access to 3d printing i would check out some youtubers who make awesome mechs that can move the eyes and blink too. but i think people figured out how to make blinking mechs by hand as well.. would be a nicer challenge i think, but im mysel trying printinted one from @WillCogley right now.. hope that helped :)
Love it… I’m wondering how I’d make a smaller version inside a puppets head though.
how small are we talking?
Could you please try to make a blinking eye mech next?
Will definetely come in the future! :)
Thank you 😊
eye like it
Pun accepted.
can you show how you can make some kind of machanisme to just make some blinking eyes for in a fursuit...love this btw. ;)
yes, thats a great idea! i'm looking into it :)
@@AnarchyAutomatons ifnyou do i would be very thankful i love the idea but have no clue how to begin
Yeah I’ve been looking around I think it would add to my fursonas suit. Animated eyes would be lit
""furry"" ah. i see your an human of culture as well.
im a furry too
uwu
(JK)
but i wanna become a furry
Do you recommend a specific size for the acrylic spheres and the eye balls?
i´d say find spheres for the size of your creature and try to find some Ready made eye balls that fit well. so you dont have to go trough the Trouble of adjusting them, sanding them down or adding material.. it made mine super uneven
Necesito de ésros mecanismos. Gracias.
What alternative do you have if you dont have the clear things
There are a lot of mechs, for example 3d printable ones, that don't have a dome in front of the eye ball at all but just a thin rim around it, that is just narrow enaugh so that the eye can't fall out the front or back.
This mechanism looks great! Very cool tutorial too😊 Do you think this would work on a smaller puppet head, that means, less distance between eyes? 😮
i would say so! give it a shot :)
@@AnarchyAutomatons yes but not the same mechanism i think? it would be à challenge how to move the mechanism only with one finger instead og using the hole hand. My other fingers still have to move the mouth
@@debeerah1710 oh ok, i didnt get that. Yeah, would have to have a lot of dexterity in that one finger :D than maybe a microcontroller solution with a little joystick?
11:58 what is that motro called and where can I buy it?
i made a algodoo v of this!
I would use a semi thicj sheet of EVA foam instead of wood
Sure, why not :)
All very nice, but you did not explain how you secure this mechanism inside your puppet and how your fingers control it there. I'ts just half the tutorial.
check it out, grumpypie th-cam.com/video/TrOJmi-4n4w/w-d-xo.html
Does this work with aminatronicts
it should, that was the idea
0:00 basically puberty
I'm sorry
Its ET
Y esas intro Broo🤨
that's like a bone saw you could lose a finger
That's what it felt like.. I was pretty terrified in the moment
@@AnarchyAutomatons I AM afraid of using power tools ever since I had a close incident with a circular saw building props, due to my own stupidity. I have a dremil too but not the circular bone saw attachment. I probably would have cut that plastic with exacto knife. it would not be as smooth however
i can't decipher what his accent is
Think genocide
@@AnarchyAutomatons wat
It's German
Hi Julian, where did you obtain the clear spheres and polystyrene balls?
