Love my 2019 Genesis G80 Sport with 85k on the clock. Purchased it new and had zero issues except for a few recalls. Just don’t ask me about the dealership experience. That is a completely different experience
@@jovaniortiz8317they sell through Hyundai dealerships so they don’t give a crap about customers as well as traditional exclusive luxury car dealerships

chauffeur driven cars are G90s. KDM cars typically has more features. Even the Elantra N (Avante N) KDM comes with cooled sears and full suite of highway driving assistance
As a hater of all things SUV, I'm just glad sedans are still offered. The exterior surface execution is absolutely exquisite! The interior would have been perfect with a regular cluster analog or digital instead of those ridiculous screens. Makes the dash look so tacky. 60-65K would make it compelling, I'm still not convinced it's up there with the Germans.
I like the new Genesis badging on the steering wheel. It should be good for an additional 5 hp. Guess it's not too bad reviewing vehicles when you get a message out of it. Good overall review.
There was a time when changing the headlight/rearlight bulb was a 2 min job. Good luck figuring out how to remove any of them, and how much this LED sets will cost you.
That backseat armrest just surprised the hell outta me. I don't know why the luxury brands can't make them right. It's not even expensive to make, yet, they still don't give you nice armrests unless you're paying $80k.
16 mpg is laughable for the performance you get.THat thing should get much better mpg considering it doesnt even have 400 hp but yeah it's heavy as hell so that def hurts.
16mpg if you're driving like a maniac, yes. 20mpg combined isn't bad, certainly not the greatest mpg, but it's not that noticeable comparing a 20mpg to another 22mpg car. It's only noticeable if you're comparing a 20mpg vehicle to a 50mpg economical vehicle.
Thanks for the excellent review as always! We are just waiting for a Tasman Blue with black interior to arrive. Not too many 2025’s yet where we live. I think the wheels will need to be upgraded soon after purchase though.
Hope they will try to merge this one with G90. This actually has a good looking front design. Combine with the elegant rear end of G90 it would be just excellent. I'm digging those wheels as well, something cool going on there.
Love the big grills of Genesis cars. Getting expensive now. Fuel efficiency is too bad unfortunately. Like that they kept buttons and knobs. Better feel for climate control etc. Looks very much like an Audi and BMW if you look quickly but the grill is unmatched! Is there a way of getting interior colour in one tone or as you wish? Quality wise we will see in a few years.
I had a 2020 G80. Loved it, until my Genesis dealer blew up the engine overfilling an oil change, screwed the engine replacement, then tried to scam me into a G80 loaner replacement - at my cost - that turned out to be 80% repainted and they did not disclose it. Genesis corporate was absolutely useless through the whole process.
Dear brands stop with digital gauges, bring back analog gauges ! These screens feels too much and already out of style and design... that´s why the new Bugatti got analog and the trend will go back to it !
Sexy sedan ……..I like it ! Don’t like BMW 🥴. Sorry Joe, I disagree with the subway sandwich in door pocket……..think you need to go to Panera bread in a Genesis 😃
Genesis looks good on the surface. Put one on a lift alongside a 5 Series, and you will see all the much cheaper steel suspension parts compared to the aluminum parts on the 5 Series. Also they use a cheap quality stainless steel with poor welds on their exhaust systems. Also MPG is always low because they use an old tired out engine that is not efficient at all. Dealership support is awful. They are always attached to a Hyundai or Kia dealership and treat you like you have an old beater Kia.
I would like to see genesis implement those 48 volt mild hybrid batteries that BMW and Mercedes does. It’s the one thing that they lag behind with compared to the competition.
one thing I've always wondered about with cars that have these flat panel glass cockpits is ... will these panels wash-out in the sun under certain conditions since they don't appear to have a hood to shade the panel ... hmmm ... I personally think they could do a better job of integrating the panel ... these things look like a tacked-on afterthought ....
Those wheels will be a real pain to keep clean , with those small indentation dimples in the blades. The brake dust will get stuck and trapped embedded in those dimples.
Its like a poor man's Mercedes S-class, except its still for wealthy people. I love that the interior still looks like an old school traditonal interior, even with that screen.

When it comes to performance they still never did as good as the hyundai genesis 5.0 r-spec pushing 430 hp and was 4000 pounds still heavy but for a v8 luxury sport sedan its pretty light.

I'm a Lexus owner and have always remained a loyal owner. I can honestly say that with every Lexus sedan being on average 7 years old with very little changing, Lexus should be extremely worried. There are features on this non Genesis flagship sedan that aren't even optional on my Lexus LS500 f sport. Shame on Lexus for thinking reliability is the only thing that sells and congrats to Genesis for understanding the opposite. Cars need to put a smile on your face when driving it, and nothing in the Lexus sedan lineup does that currently. Sad!
Genesis powertrains are not good. Period. Lexus IS 500 has a 2UR-GSE that's a legendary engine, there's no contest for that from any company out there not even AMG, Audi RS and BMW M. Lexus IS interior is really well made, I do not know how can you think it's bad. The only issue I had was Nuluxe, Japan has Leather and the 2025 MY finally put folding mirrors which I think was a legit massive BS mistake from Lexus, they don't even put that on an RC F in North American market. Lexus is run by bean counters but their engineering dept was well maintained however that's soon going to be past because newer ES will kill the V6 and the V8 from RC F, LC 500 and IS 500 will be retired soon.
