The wee beastie imo is very good and even better than the 10. Also the perfect scotch for a daily dram. It's affordable for everyone at only like 40-42 euro.
Now I want it even more. Great review. Love the expression on that first sip.

My first scotch with a higher peat. At first the smoke smacks you in the face then there is a briney sweetness. Spicy and fruits with that young whiskey burn. Now I understand and taste exactly what everyone explains.
Sounds good, nice comparison. I'll be popping the Cork on mine tonight and giving it a wee review.

freshly laid blacktop is still preferable to the used bandaids of Laphroaig. Still, I man up and enjoy a dram of that whenever possible.

Another great review, Jason! I absolutely love the new Wee Beastie! Was hesitant at first to purchase, but so glad I did. When I compared it to the ten, was surprised the beast came out the winner for me. 🥃
Yeah I like it too. It's getting better with air. Love the spice and fruits.
The tar taste is spot on. Their smokiest and most heavily peated i believe! AN OA is my favorite than the 10 follows. The Wee Beastie is just a bit too much. I could have one dram of it, then tap out to something different. Almost like very heavy beers. Have one then move to something less heavy, but sweeter.
Lagavulin 8 was my first heavily peated whisky as well, just bought a Laphroaig 10 last weekend. Cheers!
Rumor has it this will land around September in my area, I've been keeping my eye out, excited to try it

Love the comparison… Thank you! Surprisingly, I find myself comfortable with the price…If they left out the age-statement… Wonder what people would think? I appreciate the five-year-old statement, and I’m almost willing to pay a bit of a premium for their bravery.

In my market the 5 is $35 and the 10 is $50. Price seems fair.

My first Ardbeg (last month) was the 10 and I loved it. I then tried the Wee Beastie, and loved it too! Was way less crazy as I was hearing. It didn't knock me out like I feared. Delicious and a permanent addition to my rotation! Here in Austin, TX it goes for $39.99 and the 10 goes for $49.99, which are great prices for Scotch. Lagavulin 8 goes for $66.99. Not sure if I want to pay the premium...
I have the Lagavulin 8 I prefer the Ardbeg 10 and 5 more. There is alot of iodine taste in the Lagavulin 8.

This stuff cleared off the shelf as soon as it landed. Interested to see what regular availability will be. Once the Ardbeg 10 stock is also post tariff, the Wee Beastie pricing looks better.

Yeah by me in Long Island NY I seen it for $45 but the 10year was $50 so it’s kinda hard to pick the 5 when the 10 is only $5 more 🤷🏽♂️ too bad they can’t give me a shot at the store so I can decide

Wasn’t this delicious 🤤. It really is a wee beastie. Like that little cute monster you’d find in a dark creepy attic (😉) it smiles at you and then attacks you and once it sees you’re not scared of it, it becomes your friend. same price as the ten here in Chicago too but I’m not complaining I loved it. The ten is still my go to Ardbeg. Cheers bro 🥃

Binny's just raised the Ardbeg 10 from $50 to $55. The WB goes for $50. What upsets me more is that Binny's just raised the Corry and Uigi by $20 a bottle each!

Different than the 10 for sure...a b it more fruity and more spice. I like the 2 casks on the Wee Beastie.

Must be a palate thing, it's overpowering for some.
the spice goes away after a few sips but was still there for me. I love spice so Im sensitive to it. But this does get easier and sweeter as you sip.

@@TheMashandDrum I love the Oogie, not yet had the Corry. Being that they are both cask strength, how do they differ? Sherry vs. not?
@@M4dg04t it's Sherry vs french oak. The French oak in the corrvy provides some sweet but also some spice as well. I love the balance of it that pairs with the smoke.
Awesome. I’ve been wanting to do a side by side of these exact three. I was able to get the Beastie around here (MN) for about $38 which I thought was okay. The 10 usually goes for $45-50. Hoping that the Beastie will go on sale occasionally. If it was $30 I’d buy it like crazy. Won’t be replacing the 10 for me, but it’s a fun change of pace, and I love the proud age statement and higher ABV.
IMO Wee Beastie blows the 10 away!
Wee Beastie is just too young for me. Honestly, I was disappointed. I've had many young Kilchomans that were better. The nose did remind me of walking around the distillery last year. Give me the 10 any time!
The first thing I did was compare it to Kilchoman Machir Bay and Lagavulin 8.
I liked the Kilchoman better, but to be fair the Kilchoman costs $65 and the Ardbeg cost $35.
I'm also a fan of Kilchoman. Very tasty!
Love the 10 for the complexity but last bottle I had I found it was a bit boring compared to the likes of Big Peat and Wee
