  • Join us for an unboxing and full review of the brand new Sabine Wren Force FX Elite Lightsaber from Hasbro.
    We'll take a look at everything you get in the box, the design of the lightsaber and of course we'll check out the electronics and effects. We'll also do a comparison between this offering from Hasbro vs Disney's Ezra Bridger legacy lightsaber from Galaxy's Edge.
    Costing £299 direct from Hasbro and costing £270 from other sellers, the big question really is whether this latest lightsaber from Hasbro is worth the money.
    Based on Ezra Bridger's second Green Lightsaber seen in Star Wars Rebels which was inherited and modified by Sabine Wren as seen in the Ahsoka series on Disney+, let's see how good this lightsaber really is.

      Yep, for me the price on this saber is massively prohibitive when you consider it has very few benefits. At least with a legacy saber you get the quick release blade system but you don’t even get that here!

    2:02 the legacy is thinner, the legacy like, known for being quite chunky at times, is thinner. This is the first time I’ve seen a saber that thick (some legacy’s are fine but ezras is quite big)

      The Sabine force FX saber is thicker than any of the legacy ones I think. It’s absolutely nuts how wrong Hasbro got the dimensions

      Thanks so much I’m glad you found this review enjoyable and helpful 😊 I love the Ezra/sabine saber design and I think that’s probably what lead to some of my disappointment in this video a bit. It looks good as a display piece in fairness so can’t complain there, just wish hasbro had taken some pointer’s from Disney’s legacy Ezra version. Really hope you like it when yours arrives 😊

  • @CraftMotion
    @CraftMotion 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Acutally, I think aside from some examples, the Disney sabers are not that big. I think people complain because they compare them to 3rd party lightsabers and while it's true that a slim hilt feels better in the hand, at least for me and many others, 3rd party lightsabers are not known for their accuracy, we can clearly see that canon lightsabers do have a little bit of thickness to them. Not all in the same way and this Hasbro one is definitley too thick, but if you look at, say, the Skywalker saber, that one has a bit of heft to it.

    • @DualSynchronicityX2
      @DualSynchronicityX2 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There are a TON of third-party sabers that are waaaaay more accurate AND better quality than what Hasbro or Disney are putting out. These "official" sabers are and should be seen as expensive toys because that's all they are. Collectible toys. If you want the good sh!t, go third party, every time.

    • @order66collectibles
      @order66collectibles  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think there’s definitely a mix. Some of the Disney and hasbro sabers are too chunky but then others aren’t - look at the Skywalker Graflex from Disney and compare it to a neopixel graflex and they’re the same size pretty much!

    • @CraftMotion
      @CraftMotion 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DualSynchronicityX2 It heavily depends. There are quite a few 3rd party sabers that are very close to accuracy, wich is impressive, but up to this date I've never seen a 3rd party replica without noticing inaccuracies almost immediatley. To be fair, most of the time these are just minor details that can be ignored, however these minor details make them unsuitable for screen accurate cosplay. I checked the 501st customing guidelines (in case you don't know, the 501st is the biggest and most strict Star Wars cosplay group in the world) and they explicitly sate that the lightsaber used has to be a either a Master Replicas, Hasbro or a self-made lightsaber. 3rd party lightsabers are not even mentioned (neither are Disney lightsabers, so I guess they are deciding on a case by case basis).
      Of course that doesn't mean Hasbro and Disney are any better. And when I say 3rd party lightsabers are not accurate this is not a complain at all.
      They're not inaccurate because these companies can't do any better, no, they are inaccurate because these companies don't have a license and are therefor legally required to alter their designs, replicating a lightsaber design perfectly 1:1 would be stealing trademarked designs.
      And there are multiple examples were lightsabers from Hasbro and Disney are not accurate as well. Some are too thick, the colors are not quite right, they lack Smooth Swing and 50 Watt LEDs...
      In those cases I'm totally with you, if you have the money, buy the 3rd party one.
      One example would be the Darksaber. The one from Hasbro is pretty neat, I myself have it on display, yet it clearly differs from the original design on multiple spots. I've seen a 3rd party lightsaber that, for my eyes, looks more accurate. Not perfectly screen accurate of course, but more accurate than the one from Hasbro.
      I'm totally with what Order 66 Collectibles said. It's a mix. Sometimes Hasbro and Disney really make good use of their license and just nail it. Like with the ESB Skywalker Lightsaber from Disney. It's just perfect. Still, no Smooth Swing or Neopixel but for collecting and cosplay purposes it's all you need. And you're right, these sabers are toys, more or less, so they are meant to be cheaper than, say, a Neopixel.
      BUT
      Hasbro and Disney have also produced lightsabers that don't meet their own standards and are less accurate than a 3rd party lightsaber.
      My personal opinion:
      If you're looking for best quality, best sound and best blade, go with 3rd party (wich I do currently, can't wait for my Neopixel to arrive).
      But if you don't care for these special features all to much and are mainyl looking for the most accurate hilt:
      Buy whatever is closest to accuracy. Sometimes it's a Hasbro Force FX Lightsaber (like Kit Fisto's), sometimes it's a Disney Legacy Lightsaber (like the ESB Skywalker) and sometimes it's 3rd party (like the Darksaber (don't know the manufacturer)).
      At the wnd of the day it's just about what you prefer, what features you are looking for and what price you are ready to pay.

    • @CraftMotion
      @CraftMotion 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@order66collectibles Best example, that lightsaber from Disney looks gorgeous!
      Although I've to say, some 3rd party variants of the Skywalker saber are really really really close, with just very minor differences. In that case I'd say, the Disney and the 3rd party one are equally impressive!
