"Silly"?!? Dude, the part about wildfowling had me laughing in tears! Been there, done that! I remember my butt sliding on the mud with each shot, in pouring rain! Dropping shells in the layout blind 'cause my fingers were frozen, and couldn't find them in the 2" of muddy water on the bottom of the blind... And cleaning the gun... getting mud and dead leaves out of the action at the end of the day... Like a buddy of mine says "if you didn't know it was a pleasure, you'd think it's a punishment!" Oh, and my all time favorite: one of the guys getting out of the layout blind to pee during late goose season, and sinking in the snow to his armpits... Three people trying to pull him out, and all four having a hard time getting out of the snow bank... while geese were finally landing in the decoys (and I maintain they only landed there to watch the show and have a laugh at us, taking off just as we were able to reach the blinds and pick up our guns... before we could fire a shot! )
Next time you visit the USA you need to do some wildfowling. Nothing like laying down in a flooded rice field right above freezing after a 1/2 mile hike through the same and trying not to move while the birds come in. If anything the water and mud in this episode was a bit on the light side. 😂
A few observations. 1. You were all good sports, but Michael in particular. 2. If Ryan was a person of normal height, like Michael and I, you barely get into a squat before your backside was on the chair 3. Shooting 1.5oz 1415 FPS Kent Fast Lead was no issue from my A400. The Black Cloud 3.5 was likely 1500 FPS. I think the 3.5" A400 would eat those up as well. The loading feature on the Maxus 2 is nice. 4. Another great episode. Just wish I could see you guys in person more often.
Another Brilliant Video. Entertaining and knowledgable at the same time. Poor Michael got the short straw, he’s my favourite! Reminds me of James May. Top gear vibes! Great way to show their durability, and eye candy too for us female gun lovers, Ryan 😍 Look forward to the next one. Great work!
Nice shotguns are like nice watches, that's how i look at them. NOTHING beats practice, and very few people will get that Nth degree of performance that an expensive guns bring. But if buying a nice Perazzi makes you happy, dont let people put you off!
The EGE really could become as good as it’s Italian cousin with a step up rib like the M2 and some over sized parts for £500 I’d have one you wouldn’t be worried if you dropped it and would happily abuse it !
JC, I'd have loaned you my M2 cerakote if I thought you were doing this, damn! Inertia over gas any day for the cleaning aspect! I suspect gamekeepers aren't as fussed about keeping it clean and would lean towards intertia over gas for that reason? I didn't think I'd enjoy this series but I really am enjoying it! I wish I had spoken to Michael more last time I saw him now!
Like London real-estate, British bespoke gun making will depend on how much money international oligarchs decide to park in the U.K. Directly or indirectly, since the collapse of the Empire 100 years ago, that's where the money comes from.
Eyup John and the boys, Another great show but I have to disagree with your choice of the best semi automatic, you are all singing the praises of the Browning Maxus 2. Having tried one at the Browning road show at Orston and not missing anything I went out and bought one brand new and had nothing but problems with it cycling any shells below 32g. Browning had it back twice and "repaired" it, Why would a brand new gun need repairing???? And what a pig to clean. After the third time of it jamming up I took it back to my gun shop and replaced it with a Benelli supersport and haven't a any problems whatsoever, I've put everything through it and it cycles perfectly. Inertia for me every time from now on.
(Disclaimer: this comment it's gonna sound sooo not English!) Dude, that Maxus is a HUNTING gun, not a clay gun! Moreover, it's a hunting gun meant for waterfowl. Again moreover, North American waterfowl hunting (where the shell of choice is 3.5" more often than not). That 1 1/4 Oz in the waterfowl world is considered a "light load". Most of the season you're allowed 3 or 5 geese and 6 ducks, daily bag limit. The North American waterfowler thinks: "Ain't gonna go home one goose short of the bag, 'cause the birds didn't decoy just right. I'm gonna get myself some #BBB 3.5" shells and I'm gonna shoot at those birds passing at the outer limits of the field." (1 1/4 Oz is about 32 grams while the 3.5" shells pack 36 grams of shot). Also, while sporting loads are limited to "3 Dram equivalent" of powder, hunting loads are always heavier than that. Much heavier. About cleaning... ALL gas operated semis are quite a chore to clean. It's the price to pay for significantly lighter recoil. If you don't want to clean messy gas semis, get an "inertia" (and don't complain about your shoulder). Bottom line, it sounds like you chose the wrong tool for your purposes... That Maxus is a solid waterfowl gun. At the same time, it's a poor choice for clay shooting.
Thanks to Canadian waterfowler for the comments made and point taken. But I ain't no novice when it comes to breaking in shotguns and I put way more than 100 heavy gauge shells through the Maxus 2 to break it in. Over here the gun is advertised as an all round tool not just for waterfowling, and John and his colleagues were praising it as such., I just begged to differ from their appraisal.
Hello I am big fan of channel I understand your contribution system, and I am happy to contribute you do brilliant stuff, but How do I became member like Ron Spomer And access specials which can not be show on TH-cam?
Congratulations to whoever is doing the filming and editing they are the real winners of today's competition.
Hear! Hear!
well said
I would quite agree myself.
cycle failure at 7:56 ? Why is that not mentioned?
Funny though
Top Gear meets shooting
At around 7:56 it’s looks like the 940 failed to eject the shell…
Ha-ha! "We acted like ourselves!" I'm in tears here! 🤣😂
Johnny - American fan here - totally love your channel.
Jonny Carter ..... conservation hero 🤣
Great video once again guys - had me glued to the screen from start to finish. 👏👏👏
Third Episode of The Gun Review and I now can't wait for the next one, loving this series!
This truck is an Isuzu, and they never break down
This is a simulated break down
...oh, I'm in a Land Rover! It's definitely broken down!
😂😜🤣🤪🤣

You've left out the best one, a Winchester SX3!!! The SX4 is full on government authorised canine wedding tackle as well!

top gear of guns
Did I just tune in to Top Gear by mistake?
I enjoy this format. It’s a nice augment to your in-depth videos.

Michael, you enjoyed it so much that you WILL be going wildfowling next season!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Looking forward to seeing the Maxus 2 and hopefully you guys too at the Show 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
In the same price range, a Beretta A300 on the cheap, or an A400 at the top end. Nice film.

Just come home at 7pm after spending 3 hours fixing my back brakes on my Isuzu pickup. They do breakdown. Haha
Great video again, always injoy them 👍
You guys should have a Netflix show
This is worthy of mainstream TV - kudos to you all. Love that .22
7:56 the gun didn't cycle. and soon after he says it cycled great... otherwise a great video as always
Another great film with a great team of guys...however, I can't help thinking that Michael reminds me of 'BOB' from Top gun Maverick 😄
I’am loving these gun reviews top stuff .👌👏
An excellent Sunday video 📹
Happy to be one of the purchasers in that last Holts auctions!
It’s addictive right?

Really solid show again fellas! More more more!
Loved it, made me an even prouder Maxus 2 owner!
Did I see a failure to feed in the mossberg?
yes you het what you pay for, cheap and quality are never two words seen in the same sentence. save and save and get the gun you deserve👍
always a good entertaining video from you guys. Excellent production Jonny and Sash. Love it 👍👍👍🍻

It was an awesome little gun!
Good fun. Nice videography
Was the power cut due to " A cost of Sacha crisis " ?
Photography and editing are, again, well done. My only reservation is perhaps just a tiny bit too much Top Gear.
Pigeon!!!!!!
Great entertainment keep them coming 😂👍
I have an ATA Neo that looks like a Montefeltro copy.
The duck hunter should have been wearing gloves !

The M2 in its posh ‘real’ format with comfort eh etc would have been the real winner!
This is art

Where do you film these? Was that a tank I saw in the yard?
I wanna know what camera you use ?
The mossberg performed flawlessly… except when is failed to feed and the camera cut away.
Big Mike did mention it jammed once at the end and with the amount of dirt it I’m not surprised

Further to my previous comment - Maxus is one of those guns that need a "break-in". That means:
"Reliably cycle" means heavy loads.

@@barryfreer4841 I didn't know they have a different marketing strategy in UK... You're right - Maxus 2 is no "all around" gun.

It’s great to see Mike, and the other guy, but where is Ant? “The other guy”! Sorry Ryan it just sounded better that way.
The other guy 😂 it’s fine I get it you miss Ant
Not overly, it is just Ant, Mike an I, are about the same height.
How tall are you? 6'6"?
@ 22.18 did he say the rifle only weighs 2lbs????? Better keep a firm hold on it to stop it blowing away!!
5lb not sure why I said 2lb long day 🤦
I find this very silly
You sound fun :D
So, best semi-auto, circa £1,000 (can be S/H) for competition clays? Go...
Used Maxus, used A400 or used Fabarm XLR5 velocity
On a good day you might get one under £1000
A400 multi target is nice
@@tgsoutdoors Fabarm, not looked at that one.
@@tgsoutdoors I'll have to have a little chat with Craig!
7:56 gun fails to cycle. Goes on to say gun cycled well?
The first gun had a failure to eject
This is like Brit top gear for guns
