Please bring on more professional, so called experts, who have their information together & not scattered. This was very frustrating to watch & listen to... especially while dealing with estrogen dominance & low progesterone and not being able to see a doctor until weeks from now. I inject estradiol valerate 2.5mgs every 4 days. Which brings my level to about 225. It's so simple and painless. I also inject testosterone cypionate 5mg once a week. I use an insulin needle and inject into my deltoid. I take 400mg progesterone nightly. I sleep like a baby and my anxiety has gone away. I know injections are not the money maker like pellets and creams though so clinics don't want to prescribe it.
What are your total Testosterone or free Testosterone levels with 5 mg/shot once a week ? Once a week will cause your levels to fluctuate up to 50% between shots. Test-cypionate should be taken at twice a week and sometimes every 3d day or even every other day for the more level amounts. I'm taking every day shots of Test-cypionate and my levels are pretty constant from day to day and week to week. From what I've heard from pellet therapy.....more like 10 mg/week would be better at 5 mg/shot every 3d day. But I'm interested in what you testosterone levels are for just one 5 mg/shot a week.
I actually just had a hysterectomy 2 weeks ago and decided to up my test injections to every 3-4 days with my estradiol because I was having some depression set in. When I was using test twice a week I was injecting a bigger mg and it gave me negative symptoms. So I dialed it back until they went away . So now here I am playing with doses again to find a good level for me after hysterectomy . My last report of my estradiol level was wrong . My last labs came in at 340 on 2.5mgs every 4 days of valerate. My T was pretty low yes, but I think it was ok for me at that time. I honestly can't remember what it was but it was a single digit. I'm a believer that estradiol and progesterone gives us libido so I try to make sure I get enough of those 2. Testosterone is my last worry. I just want a little bit. I had terrible acne and enlarged, painful clitoris with higher T.
Jennifer? Wow that seems like a high estrdiol level. What are the units? My E2 is about 38-66 ng/dL which is pretty high for a msn although it was 140 ?ng/dL when I was on T-pellets. And you take a huge dose of progesterone....is that a cream or a pill? Just curios because progesterone is supposed to increase estradiol receptor sensitivity so you should need less estradiol.....just trying to wrap my head around your numbers. I want to get other women's experiences with dosing as I don't need to supplement with E2 as Iget mine from my high testosterone which some converts to E2 in my tissues.
@@josephmanning1647 its not very high honestly. I want my E2 to be that of a younger woman. Not for a post menopause woman.. I need a higher progesterone (I take oral micronized progesterone) dose to balance out the estradiol. The pills only last about 8-12 hours as well. 5mg/week estradiol is a common dose for women. I break mine into 2 smaller injections so they level stays even..if I took that 5mg dose all at once it would be 700-800ng and that I think would send me way out of balance. Women are supposed to have a 10:1 e2 to P ratio.

Thank you so much for this info!! I'm a 41yr old in perimenopause..... I'm taking 100mg of prometrium daily cyclically (I have estrogen dominance). I wish I had taken the prometrium nightly like I was given in early 40’s. I decided not to and now have fibroids due to estrogen dominance. Definitely safe and definitely get your levels checked if you can. Good luck!
Hi Dr. Garrett! I have a question about an estrogen dominant 36 year woman with fibroids, and an extremely short luteal phase (the period comes on the 17th day). She obviously needs natural progesterone, but the fibroids have lots of receptors both for estrogen and progesterone, which means that giving a progesterone will make the fibroids grow. How would you proceed in this situation - will you not give progesterone or you would give a small dose? Thank you!
