  • It has been two weeks since I have had time to make a video, though I have been going out to the pool and testing and adding chemicals. Pool is still looking GREAT - it has been over a year since I've shocked the pool and I've NEVER had ANY algae since I've been taking care of this pool.
    Free Chlorine - .6 PPM
    Total Chlorine - .6 PPM
This is the perfect amount. Since we were supposed to get a ton of rain last week I added two tablets to the feeder. Today only about half of each had dissolved which means in total I have only dissolved one 3" tablet. I did not add any tablets this week since I have more than 1 still in there.
    PH - 7.6
This is fine. No need to adjust until it goes above 7.6
    Total Alkalinity - 70 PPM
This is all good as well.
    Calcium Hardness - 225 PPM
The water has enough calcium hardness to be sated and happy.
    Cyanuric Acid - 25 PPM
30 is ideal but 25 PPM is more than enough to hold up to 2.0 PPM chlorine. Since I am only holding .6 PPM I am fine.
    Phosphates - 300 PPB
I have been using PoolPerfect+PhosFree in place of CV-700. The water clarity hasn't changed much so the enzyme seems to work just as well, but the phosphates have been steadily around 300 - 500 PPB. When I was using CV-700 the phosphates would hang around 0 to 100 PPB. This leads me to believe the phosphate remover in CV-700 is more powerful.
    Borate - 50 PPM
With all the rain we got in May and at the beginning of this month my borate level has been diluted. I want it to be around 80 PPM, 50 is ok, but 80 is best. I am going to add another 10 pounds of SupremePLUS next week. It is a good idea for everyone to check their borate levels to make sure they are still ok with all the rain we had.
Until next week, stay cool and please use your pool!
