thanks to to www.youtube.com/@nirvanadump4700 for the isolation of Kurt's backing vocals on Something in the Way, I wouldn't know how to do that myself
Late to reply, but he just took a file from the multi-tracks and removed the cello.
@@Scout56b7 ah makes sense I thought he isolated the backing vocals from the studio version
Do re mis chorus is so eerie and beautiful
I agree! It almost brings hair on my hands to stand up. 🥰
I think knowing (to us) that is the last song endlessness and importance. Even more than You Know You're right. But I don't think he meant it to be.
@@krisfrederick5001 definitely. the fact that it might be the last thing he recorded gives it such weight, it's hard not to read into the trembles in his voice, but to him it may have just been another song
@@rarestnirvana It’s also a great song but incomplete, so we are just left wondering what could have been.
I wish he lived and that song was never recorded. it’s his intention to end himself put into song. devastates me to listen to every time.
"It might be nice to eventually start playing acoustic guitars, and be thought of as a singer and a songwriter. Rather than a 'Grunge Rocker you know?' Then one day I may be able to take advantage of that when I'm older, and sit down in a chair, and play acoustic guitar like Johnny Cash or something you know? And it won't be thought of as a big joke"
-Kurt Cobain 1993, you did and we loved it. He had plans for the future beyond Nirvana...
Exactly thanks a lot for sharing this he was a real Visionary artist Singer and songwriter with Long time goals It's so hard to believe that he would end his Life with a long barrel shotgun after taking lethal dose of heroin
A lot of drug addicts had plans for the future
@@populousmass and they don't get murdered
@@celebratelife8436 Yeah it’s so nuts to believe that a chronically depressed heroin addict who’d recently had a near fatal overdose and suicide attempt would kill himself. Then again, the earth is flat, so who knows?
@@populousmass actually the Earth is not flat but if that's what you want to believe then you will die a happy flat man
who found my voice memos
lol fr
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
exactly me lmao
Hearing this stuff makes a songwriter feel like they can do what Kurt did. In a very good way
We just have nowhere near enough songs from this man as we should have.
I almost put Beans in this video, but after relistening I think it’s more of a high pitched squeal than a real falsetto technique. Let me know if there are any other instances of Kurt singing in falsetto.
he was either on helium or using a voice modifier in beans
@@imcokecandle the recording might be slightly pitched up, but i think he's just doing that with his voice. his 4 track skits show he has a knack for weird voices
Maybe Come on Death? He does use falsetto In this song and it's very in line with all of these other very alien Different New sounding Experimental Kurt Songs 😂😂
Beans is Kurt's real voice ..I think he just played with speeds
finally someone doesn't forget bright smile
Hearing that right after Aberdeen was a powerful experience the first time I listened to montage of heck
6:24 Me when its 12AM and I want to sing Nirvana:
lmao
😃😃
that falsetto negative creep has me snorting
My fav performance of About a Girl in De Doelen, right in the middle of it. Kurt’s guitar cuts out and the band goes all quiet and his vocals go falsetto to match
Your one of my favorite channels because you upload stuff like this. Keep up the good work, and please never stop uploading this stuff. This channel is awesome!
nice compilation, dude!!!!!
The legendary performance of About A Girl live in Rotterdam, Holland 1991.
During the second verse, Kurts guitar sound cuts off, the whole band breaks down and suddenly Kurt sings the verse part in falsetto :D Also worth to mention: a few moments later when Kurts guitar sound returns, they just explode!
Eu fui ver porque você falou. O show todo foi demais!!!
He was Also Tripping On Mushrooms That Whole Live Show, Very Fun Time it seems
some or most of my favorites of Kurt Cobain’s works include a falsetto somewhere in the runtime i love is so much sounds so good man so nice so eerie
You can feel that music was the truest cure for his soul, the heroin was just to make him forget abut his body…
In the second chorus for _Dive,_ you can hear him go falsetto on the backing track on "MEEEEEEE."
what an album my god
Beautiful voice❤❤❤
So awesome thanks
When kurt said lights sparkling tiktok fame in the bright smile song i really felt that 😢
What more can I say sounds so epic. Wish I could hear a full song of that. I could hear Dave's drums beefing it up.
I would like to offer my thank you, and other gratitudinals, for you use whenever & however you might see fit.
A rainy day, perhaps? Hmmm…..
Also, am I dreaming this, or is there ever a moment in any of the do re mi solo acoustic performances that Kurt actually mudders the me and my IV lyric…?
I swear it happened, but my brain is not what it used to be anymore…
Just for the record, you guys, I spent the first 20 years of my life with even as even in his youth, curmudgeon and finally gallons of rubbing alcohol as the three rarest that I could find until the Internet started giving them away for free…
I don’t even know if I would be able to handle the amount of material that you guys have to listen to these days always always sometimes.
Keep up the great work
thank you again!
Amazing album
He had such a knack for finding dissonance and extensions.
Great range
Amazing ❤
How did I not think of Plateau?!?
Its a bit of a crime to not put the Mr. Moustache scream in here lol, probably one of his best falsetto stuff
Especially the demo version where he gets all frisky for tractors haha
I wish he sang more falsetto
Was this based on that reddit post asking what songs Kurt sang falsetto on?
that was my post haha. i was doing research
Do re mi makes me so sad to hear, he really was just a sensitive soul who was badly hurt and just couldn’t seem to recover. Poor bastard. It’s too bad cause I think he could’ve lived a peaceful life in Washington if he had tackled the drug issue with a therapist and help from other artists. He needed to give himself a break though, along with his parents, and needed to kick that nasty fucking heroin habit. It also didn’t help that he had a bunch of assholes around him in the music industry that barely cared about and just looked at him as a gravy train. Ultimately though, he needed to face his issues and at the end of the day that was his responsibility. He needed to be made to face his problems, but with love and support. It was a delicate situation and unfortunately it wasn’t handled correctly. As much as I love his work and his soul he did in incredibly selfish and terrible thing to his friends and most importantly his family and loved ones.
Suicide is a permanent solution to an almost always temporary problem, never the right thing to do.
we all can't do everything all the time.
❤❤❤
Kurt always used like the clipping bit to do little vocal flips that requires the falsetto. So he definitely didn't rarely use it. he used his vocal cords error voice box as he saw fit. And with amazing control. Super nuanced. I have no clue how to sing technically really but I can mimic somewhat decent. and I can tell u that much at least. His falsetto was like a flicker of a lighter thing he would incorporate. I don't really know how to explain it cause I'm self taught when it comes to that I guess. So I don't know the right terms. But even something in the way might also be falsetto. George Michael's and Ian Curtis have falsetto at lower pitches for reference? I'm pretty sure falsetto is just like light vibrating I fuckin forget the science shit. The words don't do me any good cuz nobody knows them lol. I just sing by ear. Copycat . It's fun not knowing how
do an ian curtis falsetto please someone i have a whole playlist of joy division discography on another one of my channels i have never heard ian do falsetto only low larynx chest voice beyond early joy division where he used a more normal larynx position and his normal voice
7:50 I think this is Dave Grohl, not Kurt
07:42 Are these really kurt's vocals? It sounds alot like dave and it would make sense if it was; just wondering.
It would make sense because Dave did do vocals for In Bloom.
I just looked into it, cause I was under the false assumption that Kurt did all the backing vocals for Nevermind, but Livenirvana has a quote from Butch Vig where he says about Something in the Way, "Later on we overdubbed drums and Kurt added some harmonies". I do hear it sounding like Dave though
@@rarestnirvana Alright, thanks!
@@rarestnirvana Thanks for the clarification
He used falsetto in lake of fire once
I see why he didn't do this
Something in the way sounds like Dave
I'm getting Jeremy Enigk and Jeff Mangum with a few of these songs.
Loved it but is there one for Dive?!❤
6:31 Kurt looks a bit like Axl here. Hi Axl, Hi Axl, where's Axl!?
think the something in the way harmonies are actually daves vocals
Desire really sounds like some other famous songs, anyone know what I'm thinking of? Can't quite place it.
Is Kurt using his natural voice in "What more can i say" i always assumed it was effects on the high parts, shifting the pitch. Also theres nothing really proving this story true, and ive heard people talk about some other Montage demo somg as being more likely a candidate, but for some reason i always associate it as being the song Kurt sent to Ren and Stimpy lol ot just gives off a kids cartoon type vibe imo even though its extremely unlikely the same song.
i doubt kurt had any equipment at home that could pitch shift without effecting the speed as well. it's just kurt doing a raspy falsetto because he just wants to get the idea down.
i've always wondered what he sent in for Ren & Stimpy, probably not a public song
Kurt sings "he doesn't have a gun"
Dave does . Cover of the first foo fighters album . Dave illumanati sacrificed Kurt ..
ah yes. dave grohl shot kurt with his Buck Rogers raygun. brilliant
@@rarestnirvana sounds like something they would say
Kurt sings a bit in falsetto during the performance of Blew at The Moon, New Haven 1991 in about 2 minutes in
th-cam.com/video/s9DaOPDWHmM/w-d-xo.html
I THINK thats falsetto but idk might be wrong 🙏
that is for sure falsetto, thanks for the add I hadn't heard this
7:07 thurston moore?
If you listen to his natural deep voice would it be wrong to say he was always kinda singing in a falsetto?
You missed Kurt singing Aerosmith Song, dream on, doing his best falsetto ever
He sang in John Frusciante
So Kurt used the Mickey Mouse voice before Axl Rose
Isn’t it Dave on Something in the Way?
Isn't dave on something in the way backing vocals?
How did you isolate the backing vocal track of Something in the Way (assuming it was you)? I know softwares that isolate the vocals from the instrumental but none that isolates one track of vocals from another.
@nirvanadump4700 isolated it. according to a different person, he took a file from the multi-tracks and removed the cello
Onde eu acho essa versão da música dó ré mi ? mais tem que ser essa porque já pesquisei e não achei alguém sabe?
es la versión larga del álbum de 2015 Montage of Heck. Puedes encontrarlo buscando Do Re Mi (Medley)
@@rarestnirvana vou pesquisar melhor muito obrigado :D
head voice and falsetto is not the same technique
whats the song that plays during the subtitles?
Gallons of Rubbing Alcohol Flow Through the Strip
@@rarestnirvana i thought i recognized it! ty!
🤣 yall don’t mind nothing 😂
Something in the way was Dave not Kurt
Butch Vig confirmed that it was Kurt
@@rarestnirvana was it? If so I didn’t know. I always thought it was Dave lol

Awesone to listen to thos amongst AIC:s Dirt Album while high on hash, speed, few benzos and 600mg of gabapentin. 😁 I just finished doing laundry, while listening to Dirt. ✌️😁👌
That’s a little concerning. U don’t wanna end up like Layne
speed and gabapentin is a good enough combo, and addictive
✍️📖🐦🎶😶🌫️👼
One of the funniest things I’ve ever heard 😂
What the fuck is Desire?
one of my favorite unused kurt compositions. silly voice he's using, but very pretty melody
@@rarestnirvana it's exciting to hear these basic ideas of songs that never were fleshed out I'm a fan for over thirty years and never heard some of this stuff!
@@ratsontherails Me to, had no idea of these songs; reminds me of the box set.
Do you even know what falsetto is??😂😂😂😂😂
yeah
Hate it!!!!! Freaking thank god he chose to sing the way he did!!!! God Dam!!!!
It’s just an easy non exhausting way to test stuff while writing songs
@@enriquepastor3626 I know. Their just goofing around and having fun with it. I get that. It's my opinion....
I'm pretty sure that Buzzs Les Paul Coustom that Kurt is muckin with.
