Watching this as I was reminiscing about things after hearing of the death of Alice. Nice video and im glad you made it. I am a disabled veteran and actually had an appointment with my shrink today and I rolled in and sang a verse of Alices Restaurant and my shrink went on to the next verse lmao. We both took the time to sing and listen to the song.
I ate all the time at Alice’s Restaurant in Westwood Village near UCLA in the 70’s and 80’s. My favorite was French onion soup and their bread. Sandwiches with sprouts were good back then.
i watch the movie every year. i live about an hour away from there .i still live in western massachusetts. i lived in the building next to the lee police station in Lee 1989
Awesome video in November of 23 my daughter and I visited Alice's restaurant and the church and had the opportunity to meet Arlo Guthrie's grandson Moe what an awesome time every year my family as well listens to Alice's restaurant 12:00 noon on our local HJY in Rhode Island

South Barrington MAss Aye ! Well there isn't one ! You could more accurately say Van Duesenville or maybe even Housatonic ! In 1885 Van Deusenville was a small postal village located midway between Great Barrington and Housatonic, on the Williams River, and on the Housatonic Railroad. The village had the only works of the Richmond Iron Company, a church, a school house, about 20 dwellings, etc., though it was formerly of considerable importance, having 3 stores, a hotel, 2 factories, a chair shop, a wagon shop and a blast furnace. Isaac L. Van Deusen, to whose energy and enterprise the village was largely indebted, and whose resources were impaired in building it up, removed to Grafton, Ohio, in 1834, and died there. [1]

In 1969, when I was in the Navy, there was an Alice's Restaurant on Waikiki Beach in Hawaii.

Wasn't there a headshop in DC that was named Alice's Restaurant also? I remember going there in 1978 and I recall that it was glorious.
We do not know of that but there might have been.

We do not know if the Thanksgiving meal is a yearly tradition but they did do it this year. We wish we saw Arlo there but sadly we did not.
The last time I was there the restaurant was still accessible via that back door only
