Im in the process of switching to IPS. I have my 1st client tomorrow for the session and two weeks later the order session. I feel digitals are getting so cheap and the expectations is crazy 50-100 digitals for $200 to $300. It’s not probably. I have not tried online sales correctly. I was trying it for weddings for the guest who wanted prints but the brides don’t seem to like to share their photo with the guest. So I’m going to revisit this. Thank you for this video. I only recently found you and really appreciate your content.
Okay, so do you charge flat rate for you doing the shoot AND THEN charge for prints whether be digital or not? or do you charge a flat rate for all of it together also depending on the package they choose?
The only way I sell is in person unless it's impossible to do so. I print my own up to 13x19", and I have an excellent local lab that I can go talk to with a test print they can match on the same paper type in larger sizes. I don't sell digitals except in unusual cases, or if they spend more than $650 in prints. I don't want the client taking digital images to Walgreens and getting lousy prints that make me look bad. I use Hahnemuhle and Canson papers, which cost me more per sheet than Walgreens charges for prints.
Romie, you should probably give them lower resolution digital files that they order to share on social media. I stopped including high resolution images in my collections. If they ask about "digitals" I tell them that digitals for social media are included with everything they order. If they ask about high resolution digitals then I do offer them for sale but I make them expensive to buy.
Hello 👋 twins :) would you recommend to shoot professionally with nikon 5600 or d7500? I'm debating between these 2 I'm about to start shooting come end of August for maternity and family portraits
Thanks for all your great information. You two are so down to earth and make it fun to learn!! How do you upcharge for a large family, for instance, 2 families with grandparents who want individual family shots as well as the entire gang? I have a set price for family session but recently came across this situation . Do you charge a certain amount for each additonal person after the typical family of 5? and if so , how much more. I want to be fair but want to make it worth my while. Lots of editing with more people!!
@@esquared.photography thanks for your reply! Did not expect that. I think for me personally it would be really tough to juggle this as I have 4 children that also require a lot of my time...so for me doing all digital sales has been working pretty well but I am currently in a bit of a rut where I feel I need to consider more ways of bringing in more money and I am finding this very challenging
@@rissiepitphotographyvideo6690 That sounds very busy! We have found that online sales took some time to set up but now we make a good amount on that!!
Thank you so much for this video. I am actually struggling with my pricing. How much do you sell your prints for (if you don't mind me asking)? I offer prints through my Shootproof gallery, but I am not getting any sales. Most of my clients go to Costco to print. Also, do you offer print packages?
Thanks for watching. Let us know what pricing questions you have!
I don't have samples yet and need to get a few before I would be comfortable with IPS..
You have great advice and I love watching and learning from you.
Once again - thank you for another informational and helpful video !

How much if a previous client wants to order an additional USB of photos?
Very useful advice, thank you ladies.
You are so welcome!!

How much do you charge to download the whole gallery?

@@jamilgotcher5456 Great idea, thanks!
I like the idea of an online viewing party! I use pixieset to deliver. Do you open the gallery together via a zoom call and review?
We don’t. It just gets sent to them and the family and they review it :)
Very well done!! Thank you.
Great info as I’m just getting started! That helped a lot! Thank you!
So good to hear! Thanks for watching

Hey!! I would say the 7500. Our favorite is the 750. :)
Are you doing a Lightroom Slideshow and then link to their gallery?
We make a slideshow through fundy and we upload their gallery on shootproof
Good morning! I have a question is selling prints still popular? I sell prints but not online ?
Yes!! We get a ton of print orders

I wouldn't be able to do IPS mainly because of the time commitment
Agree!! It’s a bit commitment for sure.

Hello. First I’d like to say that I’m so glad I stumbled across you two. Am I allowed to ask where y’all get your photos printed?
Miller’s Lab!
@@esquared.photography perfect. Thank you for the fast response
This is so helpful I am just starting my journey into the photography world!
How would you go about starting a website? Do you have any suggestions?
Yay!! We use Showit for our website. It’s pretty simple to put together. If you don’t love doing that kind of work, hire out! Haha

We totally get it!!! Price time low to start while still making some money. Maybe try giving them a $25 print credit to push them to buy through you.
Please please make a podcast! 🙌😆
A podcast sounds so fun to do!!! What would you want to hear about?!
@@esquared.photography Everything! I just got youtube premium so that I could listen to your youtube videos with my phone in my pocket! 😆🥰
I like online sales instead. Give them to put their own package together. Plus the May order more
