I broke down today from literally everything you've just talked about and it took a bit for my partner to get through to me to not feel so blehhhh. I then found this video and related so much. Thank you for this and being so raw and genuine. It really helped me out
Hey Cameron! Aw so glad the video was helpful and came at the right time for you! Pricing and just photography in general is not easy to navigate and sometimes we can feel very alone. My DMs are always open 😊
I've been watching your videos for the past week and I can't even put into words how much I can identify with you, specially on this video and also how much you've been helping me out with my own business! I decided that this year I will take my work seriously to live from it and I've learning and studying and your videos are incredibly useful to me. I live in Venezuela and it's quite hard to find exactly how much I should charge and how to do it. Its been so amazing to see the way you structured your bussiness because it gives an easy visual guide on how I would like my bussiness to be. Thank you so much!
This made me so emotional.. Thank you so much for this, I needed it! I’m a nurse, with a photography business. Photography is my passion and gives me instant gratification.. But it has been hard to go all in for fear of not making enough money to sustain my family… I am AMAZING at what I do, and I know that. Thing is, I’m too afraid to ask for what I really want. I edit ALL of my own work, my husband is a drone master, and together we create inspiration.. This video came just when I was about to price a realtor branding photo shoot!! Thank you..
Amanda do you ever shoot a lifestyle/ product photoshoot and the client didn't tell you before when they hired you but at the shoot they start shooting everything with their iphone themselves? The client was even shooting over my shoulder and shooting with a pineapple prop I bought and then didn't order the photos I shot of the model with the prop! Have you ever experienced this? It reminded me of when I used to help my Dad shoot weddings, I didn't expect this at a brand photoshoot.
Hey Jamil! I’ve never experienced this no. I would set a firm boundary for something like this when your client is on set. It will also help to get a 50% deposit up front before you start the project and then the final 50% before you upload the photos to ensure you’re paid for your work. 😊
@@amandacampeanu Thank you for replying Amanda! I'm usually good about getting a 50% deposit but I was so busy the week she booked me that I didn't even have time to send the invoice for a deposit. Thankfully she paid in full. I also did not charge enough and created a package that was based on my old model portfolio prices. My daughter told me I did not charge her enough. Not to mention the client's daughter treated my daughter rudely and all my other clients love my daughter. My daughter told me she doesn't ever want to work with that client again. I actually would and just make sure I get the deposit. Anyway, I've been binge watching all your videos. Thank you for all this helpful advice. I need to look into your course you sell. I'm at that point where I'm too busy and have no free time and know I need to raise my prices because this is non sustainable.
I’m having soo many issues with my pricing! Customers are ALWAYS choosing the lower priced package even when the higher one isn’t too much more and offers way more. 😩
Hey Alexis! Oh no! I know the feeling. This happened to me when I used to have packages. Everyone would go for my 5 photo package and next thing I knew I was so booked up with these and even 5 photos takes a lot of work. If this is what’s happening don’t be afraid to remove that package altogether. I have a financial minimum in my business now and so if someone doesn’t have the budget for it unfortunately I say no. It’s made me so much happier and less burnt out. Hope that helps! 😊
Perfectly worded. I learned something on this video that I didn’t on the last 15 videos didn’t point out. You strongly encourage to charge what you’re worth
Amanda, thank you so much for making these educational videos! I have done some free work in exchange for testimonials and shares on Instagram but at this moment I am ready to start charging for my work as I became more confident in my photography. Would love to know ...how do I go about researching the industry prices? Should I just DM photographers and ask them or you would suggest any specific resources? Thank you, again for all your beautiful work
You’re so welcome Kristina! Google will always be your best friend. There are many photographers who are not willing to share pricing info if you straight out DM them without having built a relationship with them first. If you’re a student inside my course Become A Brand Photographer pricing is something I go over and I’m there to offer 1:1 feedback for my students as well if that sounds of interest. But otherwise it’s just seeing if you can find prices on other photographer’s websites but there are also many other variables you should consider when pricing your work x
Absolutely loved this video! Thank you for being so open and honest about your experience. As a fellow Brisbane girl just starting out, this is so valuable 💖
Hey Ricky! I go more into pricing in this video here: th-cam.com/video/y_I0bjGEN5I/w-d-xo.html With more in depth detail and a pricing calculator inside my online course Become A Brand Photographer 😊
Would be awesome if you were transparent about your baseline price to even work with you. Would help out a lot!

It’s all about supply and demand. It’s econ 101. Your supply is your time, your demand went up and your supply is limited so price increases.
champagnewishez exactly!
This made me so emotional..

Thank you for this video. I almost gave up on my business out of frustration and lost of creativity because of pricing
You’re so welcome! I’m so glad you were able to take something away from it. Pricing can be really difficult!

This video came at the perfect time... just when I was about to start making my price list!
Mandy so glad it came at the right time girl! Custom quotes all the way! You end up valuing your work much better! 🥰

Hello from Greece. You are so right about pricing, professionals here work literally for nothing and i blame them for not understanding their value.
Hello from Australia! 😊 and totally! It just ends up ruining it for everyone else. Hopefully one day it will change!
7:05 is exactly how I’m feeling right now. Just broke down a quote and realized there’s no way I could go for less
Absolutely loved this video! Thank you for being so open and honest about your experience. As a fellow Brisbane girl just starting out, this is so valuable 💖
Alana Keegan thank you so much for watching! So lovely to e-meet another Brisbane girl! 🙌
I'd love to hear more about how you specifically come up with custom pricing..
