I recently purchased a stock VTX 1800F. Since then I’ve been consuming VTX content and came across your videos! It’s cool to see someone riding the same bike as me. What exhaust do you have on your bike? Thanks for the letting me ride along with you via TH-cam!
Awesome, congrats on your new bike! I’ve got a set of cobra speedster slashdowns on my bike. They aren’t discontinued yet (like many things are for this bike), so you can still get these new
Hey man! Always love to watch your videos. I‘m thinking about gettin myself a vtx 1800, but i‘ve been in contact with an 1100 rebel. These things are freakin‘ awesome too! Now i can’t really decide on which to choose, as both bikes almost costs the same in germany, besides the Rebel is brand new for 11k€. But the vtx is just a freakin‘ monster! What’s your thoughts on this? Ride safe!
Thanks for stopping by! Yeah both of these machines are fantastic bikes, but will give you completely different experiences. The rebel is new, still in production and you’ll be able to get parts much easier, the vtx is out of production, so parts aren’t as readily available (you can still find them though). Now the 1800 is more like having a classic muscle car and they’re starting to become rare. Power wise: the VTX will feel more intense with the torque, like you’re trying to tame an out of control bullet train - instant power! With that in mind, the bike is heavy and well planted. The wind has no effect on it and it feels stable at high speed. The bike is nimble when you’re moving despite being almost 300 lbs heavier than the rebel. Slow speed maneuvering is tough, especially when you’re parking. The rebel is just as fast (a little faster), but more refined. It needs to rev much higher to access its torque. It has less HP and noticeably less torque, but it’s also a much lighter bike so despite having less power, it’ll be an intense ride. You’ll feel like you’re riding a monstrous dirt bike compared to the VTX. The body position will feel smaller on the rebel, but the handling is no comparison. It will be much easier to toss into corners. Low speed maneuvering will feel more confidence inspiring on the rebel - parking it will be a breeze. Think of the rebel like a tastefully, yet heavily modified VTEC Honda civic that can take on anything it challenges, while the VTX is like an old 5.0 mustang. They are both going to give you an amazing experience, but delivered in different ways. Hope that helps!
@@JTibs dude!! What an awesome description! Thank you brother. Guess i‘ll have to take both for a ride, if i get a chance and see what happens. But considering i want to keep it for some years, i may give a shot for the rebel. At least both are reliable long distance cruisers. Stay safe bro! 🤙🏼
Came across your videos because I'm doing some research on the VTX 1800 and realized we are in the same city. B-town👍🏾 Awesome. What year is your bike?
Hey thanks for checking out my videos, pretty cool we’re in the same area. My bike is a 2008 F, if you’re looking to buy one that’s the best year to get since it’s the last one

Dude I love the videos and the bike you should definitely do a walk around of it
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I'll certainly add that to my list of videos to add to my channel.
