    Good respectful riding. So many punks racing around weaving in and out of traffic, lane splitting these days. Riding should fun casual, feel the wind in your beard type of experiences, not driving like an asshole and bitching people almost hit you because you cut them off or came up beside then so fast, they couldn't react. I had a dirt bike for driving like an idiot out in the pits. I just acquired a VTX 1800C this weekend. Can't wait to get it on the road.

    All the Harley Riders including my self have to be asking... I wonder how many codes the VTX has, My 08 FXDL has like 4 codes @ 15k miles, one is security signal module, another is voltage regulator and the 3rd is battery. On the multimeter they all test perfect and all grounds are clean. The battery is charging @ 13.9 volts @ 3000 RPM, security module tests good and is working and VR is testing 0 ohms which is perfect. Anyone want to buy a POS Harley 🙂 Never buying another one as long as I live, especially when my 05 CBR 600rr has 56k miles on it and I never had to replace a part other than the cam chain tensioner. Oh I also have to add that all the electronic parts on my Harley say Made in Malaysia, I thought Harley was 100% American made?????

      Hey, thanks. The gear indicator was already on this bike when I bought it, but I think you can find this on Amazon or AliExpress pretty easily. I looked into it some time ago; from what I learned, it hooks up to the diagnostic port which is near the battery tucked under the frame rail with a bright red plastic cap. There is apparently some synchronization to do when you first set it up

    Thank you for the cool videos! I agree with everyone else just hearing the engine and pipes is music to my ears. I inherited (lucky me) a black 2004 vtx 1800 c in the fall, with only 6500’ish miles. I can’t wait for Spring 2024 to ride, and get the same cobra pipes you have on your vtx and a windshield, any suggestions I like your setup, thanks

    • @JTibs
      @JTibs 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for watching, you inherited a real gem, it’s a fantastic do-everything kind of bike. Comfy for long rides and quick for a fun time in the twisties. The cobras are definitely great pipes that you can still buy brand new today. A lot of people prefer the tone of the V&H, but they’ve been long discontinued. Here’s a couple cool things I’m using: - If you like to carry a drink with you, I use a RAM cup holder. I’ve mounted it to the highway bars. I chose this because of it tilts when you lean/accelerate/decel. - if you like a sporty windshield with a smaller profile, I’m using a national cycle switchblade windshield. It’s detachable and despite being small, makes a big difference. But I’m only around 5’6 so the wind might hit you different. I almost always ride without a windshield in the summer though, I just really like the look of the bike without it - I recommend a gear indicator - this bike has a lot of power so it’s not necessary, but it’s a nice luxury especially if you’re often looking for that “6th gear.” The diagnostic connector is somewhere under the seat with a red cap. - Daymaker headlight. Nothing updates the look of this bike more than a proper LED headlight. They include a 3D-printed mounting bracket that you can use to adjust the light’s angle which I’ve found is a rare feature in the aftermarket. - I’ve been looking around for some cool aftermarket turn signals, but haven’t found the perfect thing yet. I’ll probably make a video on that later

      Realistically, for a stock-tuned 20 year old 2-cylinder cruiser bike with a lot of weight, it’s pretty hard to complain about a mid 4 second 0-60, and a low 12 second quarter mile.

      @@JTibs That's one way to see it, but then at the other hand a two cylinder sportbike with 45hp (Ninja 400 for example) has a faster 0-60 and similar quater mile time, sorry if i'm a bit argumentative here, but i really dislike motorcycles with big and heavy torquey engines, not my type of bike, idk why youtube recommended this to me

    • @JTibs
      @JTibs 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you’re looking to buy, all of the 1800s regardless of year or trim are fantastic reliable machines. There are a couple modifications Honda made as the years went on though, for 2002, the fuel pump will be inside the tank so you’ll have slightly less range and also a harder time if you need to replace it. Honda built it outside the tank in ‘04 for the R model. There may be issues with grounding on an older VTX. In ‘04 Honda addressed this and added a ground to the engine block. If it hasn’t already been done, there’s a mod on bareasschoppers that walks you through fixing this issue. Aside from this, Honda didn’t really change much throughout its production run

    What phone holder is that? And how did you hook up the charging cable?

    • @JTibs
      @JTibs ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a wireless charging phone holder made by "LEEPIYA". The previous owner had this on when I got the bike. I did some digging, it looks like the exact model is here ($33 USD): youmotorcycle.com/product/leepiya-motorcycle-phone-mount-with-wireless-and-usb-charger-10w-qi-fast-charging-cell-phone-holder-for-motorcycle-atv-boat-snowmobile-compatible-with-iphone-11-xs-max-xr-x-8-8p-samsung-s10-s9-s8 Similar models are on Amazon and ebay. It's been wired under the tank along the frame, tapping into the ignition. It works well, I haven't had issues with it and it charges both my phone and GoPro at the same time, and also claims to protect from vibrations. I'm sure there are better options for vibration protections, but they'll cost much more. You want to protect your phone camera from vibration damage - it messes up the accelerometer permanently, and your camera will forever be unable to focus properly. I haven't had any issues with my camera using this mount so far though (hope it stays that way 🤞🏻). If you have an older phone with wireless charging, also keep in mind that wireless chargers can lead to overheating your phone, unless you ride without a windshield. Newer phones run cooler, so that might not be an issue. I also use a DIY visor to block the sun from shining directly on my screen on really sunny days - helps a lot when in traffic. Either way, you have options with this, wireless or wired. Also, this holder has never dropped my phone, I use an iPhone with a case. Just make sure it's snug, as with any holder.

    Hey man! Always love to watch your videos. I‘m thinking about gettin myself a vtx 1800, but i‘ve been in contact with an 1100 rebel. These things are freakin‘ awesome too! Now i can’t really decide on which to choose, as both bikes almost costs the same in germany, besides the Rebel is brand new for 11k€. But the vtx is just a freakin‘ monster! What’s your thoughts on this? Ride safe!

    • @JTibs
      @JTibs ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for stopping by! Yeah both of these machines are fantastic bikes, but will give you completely different experiences. The rebel is new, still in production and you’ll be able to get parts much easier, the vtx is out of production, so parts aren’t as readily available (you can still find them though). Now the 1800 is more like having a classic muscle car and they’re starting to become rare. Power wise: the VTX will feel more intense with the torque, like you’re trying to tame an out of control bullet train - instant power! With that in mind, the bike is heavy and well planted. The wind has no effect on it and it feels stable at high speed. The bike is nimble when you’re moving despite being almost 300 lbs heavier than the rebel. Slow speed maneuvering is tough, especially when you’re parking. The rebel is just as fast (a little faster), but more refined. It needs to rev much higher to access its torque. It has less HP and noticeably less torque, but it’s also a much lighter bike so despite having less power, it’ll be an intense ride. You’ll feel like you’re riding a monstrous dirt bike compared to the VTX. The body position will feel smaller on the rebel, but the handling is no comparison. It will be much easier to toss into corners. Low speed maneuvering will feel more confidence inspiring on the rebel - parking it will be a breeze. Think of the rebel like a tastefully, yet heavily modified VTEC Honda civic that can take on anything it challenges, while the VTX is like an old 5.0 mustang. They are both going to give you an amazing experience, but delivered in different ways. Hope that helps!
