    Nice riding.. I actually traded my Vrod for a full on Corbin custom VTX1800 .. Fairing,Solo Seat,Hard bags, and Lowboy fender all Corbin. 21" custom front wheel, Has Cobra floorboards and and extra Cobra exhaust. Currently has Bubbs true duals on it now. I couldn't believe the guy traded me once I looked up the price of all the aftermarket parts. The guy had it all done in 06 and said he just wanted something different. All the Harley Riders including my self have to be asking... I wonder how many codes the VTX has, My 08 FXDL has like 4 codes @ 15k miles, one is security signal module, another is voltage regulator and the 3rd is battery. On the multimeter they all test perfect and all grounds are clean. The battery is charging @ 13.9 volts @ 3000 RPM, security module tests good and is working and VR is testing 0 ohms which is perfect. Anyone want to buy a POS Harley 🙂 Never buying another one as long as I live, especially when my 05 CBR 600rr has 56k miles on it and I never had to replace a part other than the cam chain tensioner. Oh I also have to add that all the electronic parts on my Harley say Made in Malaysia, I thought Harley was 100% American made?????

    What phone holder is that? And how did you hook up the charging cable?

    • @JTibs
      @JTibs  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's a wireless charging phone holder made by "LEEPIYA". The previous owner had this on when I got the bike. I did some digging, it looks like the exact model is here ($33 USD):
      youmotorcycle.com/product/leepiya-motorcycle-phone-mount-with-wireless-and-usb-charger-10w-qi-fast-charging-cell-phone-holder-for-motorcycle-atv-boat-snowmobile-compatible-with-iphone-11-xs-max-xr-x-8-8p-samsung-s10-s9-s8
      Similar models are on Amazon and ebay.
      It's been wired under the tank along the frame, tapping into the ignition. It works well, I haven't had issues with it and it charges both my phone and GoPro at the same time, and also claims to protect from vibrations. I'm sure there are better options for vibration protections, but they'll cost much more. You want to protect your phone camera from vibration damage - it messes up the accelerometer permanently, and your camera will forever be unable to focus properly. I haven't had any issues with my camera using this mount so far though (hope it stays that way 🤞🏻).
      If you have an older phone with wireless charging, also keep in mind that wireless chargers can lead to overheating your phone, unless you ride without a windshield. Newer phones run cooler, so that might not be an issue. I also use a DIY visor to block the sun from shining directly on my screen on really sunny days - helps a lot when in traffic. Either way, you have options with this, wireless or wired.
      Also, this holder has never dropped my phone, I use an iPhone with a case. Just make sure it's snug, as with any holder.

These guys were the best option for me, they make a bracket that lets you adjust the angle of the headlight 👍🏻

    Good respectful riding. So many punks racing around weaving in and out of traffic, lane splitting these days. Riding should fun casual, feel the wind in your beard type of experiences, not driving like an asshole and bitching people almost hit you because you cut them off or came up beside then so fast, they couldn't react. I had a dirt bike for driving like an idiot out in the pits.

    What do you think about 1800r 2002

    • @JTibs
      @JTibs  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      If you’re looking to buy, all of the 1800s regardless of year or trim are fantastic reliable machines. There are a couple modifications Honda made as the years went on though, for 2002, the fuel pump will be inside the tank so you’ll have slightly less range and also a harder time if you need to replace it. Honda built it outside the tank in ‘04 for the R model. There may be issues with grounding on an older VTX. In ‘04 Honda addressed this and added a ground to the engine block. If it hasn’t already been done, there’s a mod on bareasschoppers that walks you through fixing this issue. Aside from this, Honda didn’t really change much throughout its production run

    Hi bro! Pls advise, what is the main headlight (Bulb or upgrade LED module) do you use? And if i'm not mistaken, you also use an additional fog light mounted onto your crash bar? Pls share a link to this light module which you use. Thank you in advance!

    • @JTibs
      @JTibs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure, I’m using a full LED headlight assembly from VTX Daymaker. A great part about this headlight is the adjustable mount that I ordered with it to make sure the light isn’t blinding oncoming traffic. Most aftermarket assemblies only install one way which often isn’t ideal.
      Also I have the F trim of this bike, so there isn’t really much to choose from - the headlight bucket is a different size than the other trims of this bike. This is pretty much all that’s available for the bike with the adjustability.
      As for the fog lights, I’m not sure which kind they are, the previous owner installed them. They look like a pair of LED light bars. Does the job though 👍🏻

    I have the 02 VTX 1800 model. It has the basic analog speedometer. I definitely wish it had that digital cluster on it though. That would be super nice to know what my RPM's are at when I'm cruising. lol

    • @JTibs
      @JTibs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah, the tach is a nice luxury on honda cruisers, which are usually very barebones in the features department. To give you an idea when you’re cruising on your bike, at 60mph in 5th you’re at 2.8k RPM.
      70mph is above 3k rpm, 80 is 3.3 and 90 is closer to 3.7. You’ve just past 5k when you feel the power start to dip. The rev limiter is at 5750, but you probably won’t be able to get that high In 5th even if you tried.
      On the note about the rev limiter Honda engineers really keep longevity in mind and tune their engines below their maximum capacity, so if you hit the rev limiter by accident don’t beat yourself up too much, the engine can take it.

    • @ganonpig
      @ganonpig 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@JTibs I've hit the rev limiter a couple times in first gear back when I first got it. I was just getting used to the bike and didn't realize how short first was. I figured it wasnt a huge deal if you hit the limiter. That's the whole reason they're there, So you don't blow your motor up by accident. Lol.
      Thanks for that info on the rpms too. Just going off of sound I was kinda surprised. It felt like 5th gear wasn't necessary until I reach 75mph or higher. I'm assuming all the 1800 models have the same gear ratio

    • @JTibs
      @JTibs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@ganonpig Yeah 5th is really tall and feels more like an overdrive gear. The torque really starts to set in at above 3k, so shifting into 5th at around 75 makes sense.
      But if you’re looking to pass, you’re probably better off downshifting.
      Unless I’m on an incline, the earliest I shift into 5th is around 55mph, but only if I’m cruising or coasting. I don’t do much acceleration in 5th until I’ve hit around 70. So your ears definitely aren’t lying to you

    How are the brakes? Good stopping power?

    • @JTibs
      @JTibs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For a cruiser, this thing has surprisingly fantastic stopping power. I’ve never felt unconfident that I might not be able to stop in time for a questionable yellow-red light or being cut off in the HOV lane during heavy traffic.
      This bike has two disc brakes in the front, one in the rear and they’re linked proportionally to keep everything balanced.
      No issues going down steep gravel hills with rear brake control, despite them being linked.
      My last bike was an old 750 shadow, and even with that bike being significantly lighter and not having anywhere near the same power as my vtx, it felt like a fully-loaded truck when it came to stopping.
