- From capturing a flag during the Civil War to saving lives in the mountains of Afghanistan, the Medal of Honor is our nation’s highest award for valor. Each Medal of Honor Day, we salute those who have received the medal and remember all those who made the ultimate sacrifice as they earned it.

On Medal of Honor Day 2024 all Americans need to honor our military heroes for their service and sacrifices. Arlington National Cemetery has always been the proper caretaker of the immortal legacy produced by our valiant warriors. Requiescat in Pace! 🇺🇸

I'm the first one to debate whether or not our troops should be committed to some foreign conflict. But I always always honor and respect the men and women who serve in those forces for their sense of duty, their honor, their loyalty to the country and to their fellow citizens. They are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for the rest of us and they will always deserve our gratitude. And no veteran of this country should be homeless or hungry or sick. They were willing to die for us, we should make sure every single one of them is taken care of.

4:05 I always keep Thomas Hudner in my heart. I grew up a town over from him, and in High School I drove by his funeral. After his burial at Arlington I visited his grave while the temporary marker was up, and I payed my respects and said a prayer.
I met him years ago when he was Commissioner of Veterans Affairs

I Was there on the 21st. to bury a good Army Friend and to walk among that many heroes effects you profoundly. It hits you hard with the realization that these great people made Freedom possible. I'll be very proud to join them soon as my body is tired and sick with Cancer. May God rest their precious souls in the Perfect Peace of Jesus Christ.

The Medal of Honor, as Kyle Carpenter said: It is a beautiful burden, a burden that represents all those who have sworn an oath to defend America and if called on give their lives. It represents all those who came home but also all those who didnt come home.

From what information I could gather there have been “19” men who have received “2” Medals of Honor. Outstanding and unbelievable. 🇺🇸

Ive always wanted to go visit but i never got a chance still on my bucket list. And i know i have to takee tons of tissues my family has served in every war since the Civil War not sure if any barried there but just to go visit would be an honor
Ive met MOH recipient Drew Dix several times over the years, being he is from Pueblo, Colorado. I asked him once to the best of his knowledge if a MOH recipient has ever served as a Tomb Sentinel. He said he didn't know. I was wondering if this has ever happened? Thank you.

Unfortunately there are many Americans who have no understanding of the meaning of the oath we took.
Sadly, patriotism and the American flag are now perceived as abnormal. National disregard and disrespect.
A true thank you, to those fallen and their families. As well as those that are currently serving!!! I truly appreciate everyone and everything you are doing to provide the freedom that i have today! For those serving now, may god be with you and keep you safe, and for the fallen, i personally will not forget what you gave for our great country!!! My grandfather is...R.I.P. a veteran from WW2. So i will not forget!!! Please, keep in mind when someone says thank you to you no matter what conflict to be appreciated by our support.
