Rest in peace, Lt. General Arthur Gregg, my commanding officer in Vietnam, HHC 96th Quartermaster Company. Outstanding leader, and great friend, thank you for your service.
Rest in Peace, Lt. General Arthur J. Gregg. You are a True American Hero. The only thing is, we couldn't have Thanked You enough for all of the Courage, Faith, Strength & Sacrifices you've shown in all you did for our Beautiful Country so we can have our FREEDOM. After all, our FREEDOM IS NOT FREE. It's all Thanks to those that laid down their lives while serving our Country so we can have our FREEDOM. That goes to show just how much they love our Beautiful Country & wants to protect her for us all. All Gave Some, Some Gave All!! That's why we STAND for our National Anthem & Flag!!🇺🇸🦅🎖️❤️
Hearing taps play, seeing the flag delicately folded and any discrepancies/creases swiftly wiped off before transferring to the Officer presiding before presenting to the next of kin. Arlington…..these videos inspire me and current service in the armed forces May you forever look after us LT Gen Gregg 🫡
Thank you for everything you post - it is always moving, memorable and a place for learning and reflection. I appreciate all of you who maintain this channel.
A beautiful ceremony. Lt. Gen. Arthur J. Gregg is a true American hero who broke down barriers. His family should be proud. What a man he must have been. RIP.
Great Man. I knew him. But as he told people often. “I am an American, not a black American” The gentleman in the blue suit who presented the flag is Lloyd Austin lll Secretary of Defense. He and I shared offices as Captains. Equally a good man who hates the labeling of humans.
Sir, my family is in the funeral business and I have had the honor of participating in funerals at Arlington. I have two questions which I hope you can answer: 1. Why wasn’t the casket transferred to the horse drawn caisson as usual? 2. Why was the Catholic priest a civilian rather than an army chaplain? Thank-you
@@francisruggiero8361 good morning Friend . First thank you for any services you performed for any of my Brothers or Sisters, far too often no one recognizes the importance of you in the last chapter of our time with the loved one. As I understand it there was a private funeral at his home church and then he transported to Arlington. The family may have chosen to not request the horse drawn caisson. Tradition requires the full panoply of the military funeral for a death on active duty or state funeral. The Army Chaplin was present, actually the Chief of Chaplains, but he did just the standard prayer for a soldier. The Catholic priest was the family priest.
My dad was in WWII, and he was of African American and Senegalese descent. He did not personally know this person but knew that this man had made general many years ago. My dad was the late Sgt. AR Steele and although he was a non-com he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Daddy was also in charge of an ammo dump in the area that he was assigned to work in and protected his men well. I and my brothers were not born until the late 1950s, so he was someone to admire and look up to. He was my hero and our mom who was his wife was my role model. She was a teacher, and I also became one. Finally, our family did give him a military funeral at the graveside ceremony for him. Grahams Funeral Service helped us with this, and they were African American also. This was in January of 2001. We folks of color care also about freedom and liberty.
My condolences from Austria 😭😢😢 🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🌎🌍 In Austria we say God protect your children ,family.men’s,members.friends…. .and we send positive vibes, energy.

Touching. A Good Man. Tradition matters. These ceremonies honor the family, our Country and those who served with (around , before & after) Lt. Gen. Arthur J. Gregg. US Army and all of our US Military reminds us & shows the rest of our society about the Dignity thru our Deeds equals Honor. ACommon1 Connectivity in our Journeys with God & Destiny.
One usually says goodbye to military life with a kiss to the Flag, deeper and more venerable, if possible, than the fiery one that as a young soldier you placed between its folds. May God rest in peace the esteemed soul of this brave man. Lt. General Arthur J. Gregg. I pay all my tribute to this great soldier of our nation. His service and sacrifice will be honored and remembered for generations. May his soul rest in peace. God bless the USA.
