US Navy Ranks Explained

- In this video, we will go over all the ranks of the United States Navy, and how to recognize them. Navy sailors are broken down into 3 different rank categories- enlisted sailors, warrant officers, and officers. Each wears a different insignia or device to show their rank on their uniform.
The Navy has many uniforms, which can make this topic confusing as there are different symbols on different uniforms to show the same rank. For example, a new officer will wear a bar on their collar, but have a stripe on their sleeve.
Navy ranks also have different titles than the other branches of the US Military. While the Army, Air Force, and Marine Corps all use the same titles for enlisted and officers of the same pay grade, the Navy has different titles for these ranks. To make things even more tricky, sometimes they have the same titles as the other branches, but referring to someone of a different pay grade!
