I love my KLX 250 it continues to surprise me
I know a 65 year old little guy thats been riding for 55 years in up state NY mountains, he now rides the new crf250f kids trail bike, i rode with him on a sprint enduro and I could not keep up with him, he has stock motor but $1000 in suspension, the problem is the Japanese dual sport bikes are heavy but cheap reliable machines, but the japan trail bikes, like the crf230 250f's the ttr230 250s the klx300r are lighter, lower, shorter and very good for smaller riders, just need to be in a state to get a tag to make a good reliable, capable, cheap, dual sport

After having many road bikes I decided to switch my 790 Duke to KLX mostly because being inspired by your channel. It wasn't easy find one in Europe as they are discontinued since 2016 but I managed to pick one in perfect condition just with 6800 miles on it. What I can say, I am in love with this bike just after first trails. I think I will keep it for long time. Thank you for inspiration!

If you ever come to southern New Mexico I have a KLX 250 as well and I can show you to some cool spots in the Sacramento Mountains and the Basin.
Looking forward to more videos! I just bought a KLX 230 as my first dual sport and I'm excited to learn more about the off-road life. Been riding street for a few years, so this is a whole new chapter
I totally agree that having a less capable' bike to ride will improve your skills more than riding a great bike. Especially one that doesn't have the power to accelerate you out of trouble. I think the same thing about tires, you learn a lot more about momentum, clutch and throttle control with a low traction tire. Putting on a gummy enduro tire is almost like cheating!

loved the klx250s as a great beginners bike then upgraded it to bb351 and man this was a great upgrade! Changed this bikes sluggishness to a drz400 with 6spds. The new fuel injection was rock solid too. but i sold it for a bigger bike (crf450l) but still miss the smoothness of the efi 250s
I've ridden my friends 250L even on some idaho single track. But I would skip and I did skip the 250 dual sport market and went straight for the 450L. I went from being scared of some of the more technical quad trails to seeking out hard single track within six months. There are some notoriously hard double black diamond trails in my area that I have avoided but I'll hit those when I get a TE300i or if my friends peer pressure me into taking the 450 on them. I know it will do it but I don't know how fun a 450 will be on those trails. My point is you can skip the 250 dual sports and get something a little more capable. Im not saying it has to be a 450. The 350 dual sports are pretty versatile.
Hey will great video ! Thanks for all the info. I've ridden many street bikes. Just now getting into riding dirt. Thinking of one of these to start with. However i'm a big guy 6'2 and about 260 lbs. Think this bike would be too small for me ? Also i'm in colorado as well ! Thanks !

I really like the KLX300r for the price and if you are in a state that will allow it, convert it to a dual sport.
