Bravo 👏🏼 Friend got a Wave from 96 yo, aunt, divesting herself of no longer used. The CD skips…… now that you are a pro. But sounds like may be on a far away land mass. We’re in Hawaii. Might be able to trade you for round Oahu tour to encourage a visit if you choose to take on this repair
Ok.. old video. Hope you can help… I’m trying to adjust The potentiometer… I have precision bits but can’t figure out what is needed to loosen or tighten? My CD is reading unplayable
I know it's a old comment but it may not even be an issue with the CD Player. With these units a lot of the time it's the capacitors on the CD Board that can cause CD's skipping, not reading or worse just causing the unit to shutdown when trying to use. With the amount of repairs I've done so far I've found this to be the case for 90% of the units, then the other 10% comes between bad laser/CD unit or something on the main board.
Hello, I bought by Bose CD about 3 years a ago. Today put a CD in and it played fine and eventually it just stopped. Now it not playing any CD at all. Its just saying not playing. Help me please Petra
If you still have this unit with issues feel free to reach out to me, I do repairs on these units and we can have a look at this. Usually what tends to go bad on these first is the capacitors. If that doesn't resolve the issue then it comes down to usually the CD or something on the mainboard but I have seen with a good amount of these just being the CD board using cheap capacitors and them just going bad and as the CD player uses a lot more power to function compared to the other functions, it tends to be the first failure point. Again feel free to reach out if you need any help!

I am a long way from Hawaii. A skipping CD might be fixed with a good clean, blow the dust out with compressed air and clean the lens with IPA.
Hi, can you please tell me where you bought the cd lazer from? I appreciate it Thanks
Same problem here. Can you tell me what the part was you had to replace, even better a part number?
Beach Boys' CD ? Your friends have a sense of humor!

@@northbridgetechrepair I see… I still have it torn apart….was thinking to 3d print speaker enclosures and just toss the rest out
Must admit a useful video but spoilt by the unnecessary racket in the background. Please avoid in the future.
bose soundtouch iv when ejecting the cd makes some weird noice and the cd ejects but the disc is scratched. Any ideas?
It sounfs like there is a screw loose, a bent frame or a foreign object in there, you'll need to take it apart to see if there is anything obvious.
