    wow since part one until here I was amazed the way you deliver and explained well, I´m having a hard time to memorise or practice possesive pronouns vs. possessive adjectives but the way you explained it makes me easily understood, you are such a great Teacher, thank you for saving me in this kind of a hard situation which I currently belong. I will definitely visit your lessons probably often times until I can be able to memorise and speak it fluently in the public. Thank you so much sir or muchisimas gracias for your hard work for us to be able to learn and understand very well.

    In the third sentence the noun dinero is ending with o but you have written ella I think it should have been ended with de el right.

    What’s the difference between suyo, tuyo, and de ustedes? How will I know which one I should use?

  • @G.T.01
    @G.T.01 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you for another great lesson Rodrigo :)
    I have a question please - is suyo in the yours context only used for plural yours, or is it used for formal yours also? For example, if I were to ask my boss "is this car yours?", would I use tuyo because it's only singular, or would I use suyo even though it's singular but as a formal yours? Thank you :)

  • @stoicovic3130
    @stoicovic3130 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    is there any difference between the usage of tuyo /vuestro / suyo ?
    i mean to ask whether there are some particular situations where we have to use them specifically?

    • @RodrigoIdiomas
      @RodrigoIdiomas  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. TUYO es only used as YOURS for the 2nd person in the singular (when you are speaking to one single person).
      SUYO and VUESTRO both mean YOURS for when you are speaking to 2 or more people (2nd person in the plural).
      SUYO and VUESTRO are identical in meaning. Just that the first one is used by Spanish speakers in Latin-America, and the latter is used by Spanish speakers in Spain.

    If I'm talking to an elderly man or lady that I just met, am I correct to assume that I should be saying, "Este boligrafo es ustedes." instead of "Este boligrafo es tuyo"? I'm asking because I'm under the impression the Usted when used in the right context is the spanish equivilant to ma'am or sir. Am I wrong?

    • @RodrigoIdiomas
      @RodrigoIdiomas  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hola José. En alemán los grupos mixtos NO tienen género. Que el pronombre SIE (ustedes) sea la misma palabra que el pronombre SIE (ella) es una coincidencia de palabras. Pero no hay una conjugación masculino o una conjugación femenina. No es como en español que usa el masculino para los grupos mixtos o genéricos. En alemán, cuando decimos "sie sind", no hay masculino ni femenino.

    So in the board when you say his/hers suyo/a/os/as, you put "hers" by mistake i guess cause suyo doesnt imply whether the noun is masculine or feminine...you can declare "hers" in spanish only if you say "de ella" ...Did i get that right?

    • @RodrigoIdiomas
      @RodrigoIdiomas  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The ending in SUYO/A depends on the object, not of the owner. Therefore, if you taking of somebody's book (libro) you would say "suyo" because LIBRO is a masculine noun. And if you are referring to somebody's magazine (revista) you would say "suya", because REVISTA is a feminine noun.

      There is no way of knowing who's it is other than through the context. But this is true in all the languages in the world. For example, think of this phrase in Spanish: "Sus ojos son azules". How do we know whether the subject is "ÉL, ELLA, USTED, USTEDES, ELLOS or ELLAS?"

    It makes no sense to me that the possessive pronouns depend on the gender of the main word and not of its owner. I mean „este dinero es suyo“ lacks the important info on the owner of the money while „suyo“ is kind of redundant due to its relation to dinero. „Este dinero es suya“ would be so much more informative. Why does Spanish not use it?
