Thank you so much for the info,I just got a brand new 14ft dump trailer and thanks to your video I checked all me grease points. I had already greased the hinges on the barn doors that the fittings were powder coated shut and thought that they left such an obvious omission for the customer customer to do after sale because of the potential of making a mess or appearance appearance. Low and behold grease gun gary not only didn't get the rear dump hinges that you said are so often forgotten or neglected neglected but one was missing the grease zurt. Thanks again .
Lock n lube changed my life on the end of an electric grease gun taking care of my heavy equipment. So often zerks are plugged or things are frozen and won’t take grease easily, having the power of a Milwaukee grease gun with a locking tip on it is a game changer. The lock n lube is a bit pricey but buy once cry once, a nice feature is the locking jaw is rebuildable and comes with a rebuild kit. If you grease lots you will wear out the jaws or break them.
I have a Lock-n-lube coupler too and completely agree it's a must-have product for a grease gun. I didn't know about the swivel that would be so great, I've already added it to my cart! LOL
I'm so glad you made this video man!! Not long after I got my new Dura-Haul dumper, I noticed a squeak coming from the tail end when it was around mid-dump. After dumping, I checked the bed hinges in the rear,...YEP sure enough; Grease-Gun Gary Put Zero Grease in either of the hinges. OMG Yes sir you nailed it on the most overlooked zerks on a dump trailer; dadgum, even the factory overlooks them.
I really do enjoy your videos, you are a very knowledgeable person I would like to get your opinion on military style trailers like the M1101/M1102. If you could do a video on those it would be much appreciated thank you
I'd like to add...keep it clean. I used to work on multi million dollar bottling and packaging equipment. I'd see guys drop the grease gun on the floor then pick it up with dirt stuck to the end and shove it on a zerk covered in dust and pump dirt along with the grease into the fitting then tank the the grease gun off and not wipe the zerk off when done. Gotta keep it clean. Wipe those zerks off before AND after... and wipe dirt off the grease gun coupler.
I made these myself. New dump trailers will come with a shorter one. If you have a fab/welding shop near you, you might be able to get them to make you a set.
Question: I have a 13 foot skiff. Total weight Boat, motor, trailer and fishing stuff is aprox 1100 lbs. The trailer currently has 8” rims. The specs on the tires meet the load and speed requirements. However, I plan to tow the trailer 500 miles each way when traveling from Georgia to Florida multiple times per year. I want to put larger wheels on the trailer as I believe the trailer would ride better and be safer. My question is what size wheel should I put on the trailer? 12”, 14” or 15”. Thanks in advance. Personal experience with small trailers like this, a 14" is probably the most common size so if you are on the road and get a blow out, it will be easier to find an ST 14" tire. Biggest consideration is fender clearance when the suspension is fully compressed, such as if you hit a bump or pot hole. Good idea to go with a larger tire for long trips. I had a pop up tent trailer with 10" rims. I did bearing maintenance yearly. Took it on a 4,000 mile trip early summer. Hubs never got hot, never had any issues. Watch the date on the tires. If they are 7 years old, consider replacing them.
@@johndias6614 I wound up getting 13” radials. I have over 3” clearance from hitting the fenders. Once I put the boat on, I can raise the fenders if needed. My next issue is, I discovered the axil is bent. Going to get it fixed or just buy a new one if too expensive. All the best! Jim
If a customer is not willing to grease a brand new trailer. They never will till its to late. Same with machines (cars and trucks) break in oil changes are still very important. Yet no one does it.
Man what is wrong with me I've had many different grease guns and once the original tube is empty I can never get a new cartridge to work. Do a video on simple grease gun reloading or my simple mind. Thanks loyd

AMZN links are not connecting. Excellent content as usual.
Thanks for the heads up!
I checked those links on my end and didn’t find any issues. Might try them again.
Thanks for watching!
Where do you get the safety braces to put on the trailer (the red bracket or bar you said to use).
