Hey Chris, 2 years ago I remember leaving a comment on this channel saying I wanted to pursue a creative career but I just wasn’t sure I was actually creative/innovative enough to make it. You basically told be that I should just give it a shot and see what happens. But I’m happy to say that I’m officially a graphic design student. My current designs you’d probably say are garbage but I’m actually having fun in my classes and experimenting with different styles. So thank you
Hot damn, Chris is smooth as hell. Jeez, I was already picturing myself with him on a picnic with our Golden Retriever watching the sunset drinking ice cold beer. You can't just up and do that to people, Chris. I have a wife and kids. Control yourself.
This is a good role play. Clients ALWAYS want sales. ALWAYS, this is a great way to let them know what KPI's - metrics we HAVE control over. I'd love to see more like this ( a lot of my clients think social media = sales) where they ask for sales and you have to skrt skrt and explain to them it's a 360 marketing plan.
I love these role plays! Right from the beginning, you start digging and figuring out what the pain points are (she could do it in house but didn’t want to). Implementing these strategies into my own discovery calls.
"All I want to do is find out what makes her happy. And then design the conversation around giving her exactly that..." Priceless. (this can definitely be great advice in a marriage as well). =)
I just built a creative and marketing agency as an another revenue stream of my company. I just secured 2 clients by simply following all chris' advice on the very first day. These contents are ridiculously gold Thanks chris
Since i discovered your channel my mentality seriously improved when it comes to design, branding and marketing. Thank you for being a mentor to me Chris Do
I enjoy the approach Chris take every time to close a client. The one thing I learnt is not to jam pack the client with options that I think is ideal but learn what results they are looking for and craft a solution that suits those needs
I have never seen this style of video editing in sales training. It's innovative. Love the calmness and accuracy of this video. Also really loved the softening techniques. 💚
Thank you so much Chris! In the past two weeks or so that I've been watching your content, I've really found these role-plays incredibly helpful and informative! You've changed my outlook on how to close a client and cater toward them, whilst also getting the price you want and deserve. Please, continue to do more of these as they are super helpful and entertaining.
I've been binge watching past episodes with Chris and Melinda, it was so educational. I cannot wait to watch this new episode. Futur videos are like comfort food, they never disappoint.
Thank you so much Chris, I learnt that during the journey, it shouldn't be just about me, making the client feel comfortable and moving at his or her paste is also the key. Because the gives room for breathing
The most important thing that I learned from this video is you must always focus on your client, instead you telling clients your vision ask them how you want to look things, what does success look like to you.
Did anyone else almost cry during this? Damn that bg music man. If they would've gone full slow close up when he was talking about the picnic, that would be the end for me. Also amazing content lol!
Came here wanting to learn how to talk to clients, and I'm leaving having a blueprint of how to better support my loved ones emotionally... Thank you guys s2
Damn. This was insightful, I had never came across such video. And, that constant smile throughout the video reflects the confidence of what you are providing.
I honestly love you guys, I watch all your videos religiously and am a huge fan of Chris Do and Ben Burns. With love, these "roleplays" are such an American thing to do, they're absurd, no risks, no stakes, and linear; I appreciate the tense background music though, nice try. If you're going to teach me how to talk to clients then just give me the points and I'll try them on the field, the video could've been 8 to 10 min long. That said, thanks for all the content you're sharing with us worldwide. Love you guys!
When I heard she actually wanted video cuts, my heart sank. It was entire different set of expectations. Usually I will get pissed off and just conclude that this is not the right client. It was really enlightening to see how Chris turn it around. I think it’s only possible when we found out their pain points before entering to discuss about pricing and expectations. That makes a lot of difference. Thanks for reminding we should prioritise the one right in front of us. I’m selling something that makes me happy than what makes them happy. That makes me struggle. Thanks for the sharing.
We are watching a portion of a long form video about how to get a client to say yes to repurposing long form content into digestible chunks that has been repurposed into digestible chunks.
Funny to listen to your date analogy at the end. I always say that getting clients to say yes is like going for a date and getting that kiss at her house door. Great video, as usual
Every second of this clip is definitely worth to watch! I love the mirroring and labeling techniques Chris doing to validate, empathized and being able to see the world in the clients! Your so good at these! Can you recommend me a book or any resources I can use to drastically develop the skills of mirroring labeling and the ability to acknowledge peoples emotions? Thanks and Happy New Year!
When I starting watching the channel I was a graphic designer student, but now Artist, Art educator 😅 but still love to learn how to be more professional and business-like from the channel 👍🏻I was thinking about Keir McLaren, haven't seen him in the recent videos
Another incredibly useful video that gets an instant like from me! Especially the part about $. I get really awkward when I get to that part. Not anymore! Quick questions: is it a good idea to try to close on the first meeting? I saw a lot of sales people saying that you should have 2-3 meetings to create rapport . Did it ever happen to you not to be able to deliver? Promising someone a design that would increase conversion rates by 10% but it only increased by 4%. If yes, how did you handle it? Thank you ! You are a designer's best friend!
my approach is to get to a $ on the first meeting once I've established outcomes and expectations. Otherwise I'm wasting time. but it's not necessary to close on the first call.
Hey Chris, curious how you view this approach vs the diagnosing approach in your other videos? To me, the diagnosing approach is semi-structured, whereas this was unstructured. Would you say that is accurate? and what cues make you choose one vs the other? Thank you for your knowledge Chris-dono
What's long-form content? Could you give some examples, is that blogs or long videos or something? OK I listened past 4 minutes and I got that it's longer videos (sorry for premature questioning!) I'm an OKR coach (Objectives and Key Results) and I talk about objectives and metrics all day. I love that now I can do in my sales pitches. Brilliant, it seems a lot less daunting now. Thank you for connecting the 2 ideas. PS LOL @ the music at the end it made me grin - very good. I've subscribed.
Hey Chris, you're the best, and the videos of Futur are *really* helpful. I had some questions. Should I practice conversation before engaging with a real client? If yes, how do I do that? And, thank you to all of you.
This was such a informative and helpful video. I have a question though, how can I transform this information to work in a cover letter or proposal? I'm new to freelancing and I use the site Upwork to find clients. When I send a prospective client a cover letter/proposal. I never hear back from them. So I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong. I hope I made sense there lol.
I had the same client problem, At the end of the shoot They wanted 9 videos Contract says 3 videos But didnt wana argue With client since its Mitsubishi But i did what i had to do To the point they didn’t know What they wanted in the 9videos. It was heartbreaking 💔

@@thefutur Well... asking a girl what she wants to do isn't the right approach for dating as it typically makes you look wear and very undecided. Women don't like that. But I do see how the same strategy/thought process may work for business and handling leads.

Ask yourself what you will regret not having done at the end of your life. Make a plan and fo those things.
Totally agree. You could just start and make a plan to see it through.
It might be overlooked, but the song choice in the background makes me genuinely happy to have watched this
