we bought a house 2 years ago that it turns out had a lot of DIY/my friend's a contractor background, and each time we have to get something fixed/updated the professional has been like...wtf happened here, this is not up to code...
Becky was so cute when she was learning the new skill! She is really great at making you feel like anyone can tackle these kind of DIY projects. THIS TURNED OUT AMAZING!
A couple of narrow rectangular plant pots filled with trailing plaints on that sliver of flooring under the gallery wall would look nice trailing down the wall.
If you like TSG, have you found XO, MaCenna? She has the same roots as TSG where she started out doing small DIY stuff and just got more amazing as the years went on. These last three years she’s been doing an extensive renovation of her home in Texas. She did all of her kitchen cabinets from scratch! She’s amazing.
I was so relieved to see you did the appropriate wood handrail! The right size, the right stain! Way to go! I looked for 3 years for a similar house and was constantly outbid! So we gave up and now I'm living vicariously through you. Ontario real estate sucks!
I just love that I sat down to eat and watch something and couldn’t find anything good. As I was about to give up, this was uploaded 😊 Yay! Excited to see how it turned out!
Love it all, I am a 70's child ( just turned 60 on the 17th) ugh! Anyway... my son still has that lamp and he loves it. I really enjoy watching all of your videos Becky with Austin in them, what a sweetie. God Bless you all , hugs from Lancaster, Pa. 🤗❤
My high school was completed in 1972. The railings were topped with wood just like you have done ... You absolutely rocked this. You and Austin are the dynamic duo. Your vision and its execution were most excellent.
That corner is so freaking amazing now!!! I love love love your maximalist style, not necessarily the 70’s, but just surrounding yourself with everything you love. So dreamy!
I am literally obsessed with every video of your house renovation! It's just the perfect match of funky and retro. And it has a lot of personality and it's just the right amount of spontaneity into your makeovers. Just love it
As always, I’m blown away by your work!! You are living my MCM house dreams 😍 I hope you don’t feel too bad about the angles not all coming together perfectly. I’m a carpenter, and I can tell you it’s pretty rare when anything in a house comes together square and perfect. Another possibility is that your miter saw may not lock into the correct angles. You can try checking the calibration of your saw. That being said, I totally understand getting upset when a project isn’t going how you expected ❤ sometimes you just gotta walk away for a few mins and come back with a clear head. Something that might help in the future is a sliding bevel gauge (digital is reeeeally nice).
I'm not tech savvy enough to do my gallery wall layout on the computer so I just put all the frames on the floor and play around until it all fits. Love how this space turned out. The railing is gorgeous 😍
Gorgeous! It ties in so well as an extension of the sitting area especially with the repeats of the metal and wood materials. Love the round window. I like that you hung the smaller pictures low for the best viewing vantage when going down or coming up the stairs. People so often forget from where they will be looking at art work and hang way too high! I've even hung a cute picture in the bathroom directly in front of the toilet to view while sitting. Even small spaces in our homes are important and can make a big difference. I enjoy the interactions between you and Austin and how he explains things and especially the safety features and guidelines. He's a great guy! Well done! S.
Your smile when you saw the window fully installed in the last video was so sweet! I could tell how genuinely filled with joy you were. It must feel unreal to be creating your dream home! I hope to have that feeling one day too 💌
You are always such an inspiration for being brave in DIY. Welding?! Heck yes!! I'm glad you introduced us to this new skill that you are developing. I commend you for your courage. Thank you for being honest & vulnerable about the challenge of cutting angles and how it almost broke you. I feel you. I thought I was a rock star when I was assembling a bench only to discover my measurements were off. I had to drive to Home Depot, get more wood, and fix my mistake. Let's just say it was an angry cry DIY session.
KING AND QUEEN OF DIY!!!! Lolol, but seriously, what a beaaaauutiful job!!!! The Sorry Girls are so inspirational. Thank you for all of your hard work!!!!!!
That railing is impressive. I can't belive you guys did it yourselves! I would have loved to see how you managed to do the angled cuts, but it seems to have traumatised you, so it's better that way. The end result is stunning. I love your vision for your house.
This MCM entryway makeover has been my favorite of your series!! It turned out soooo well. It kept me on my toes the entire time too. What a rollercoaster.
The lights (3) above the new railing looks unusual. Your railing is stunning and I think it deserves a round metal and glass pendant light. You mastered welding so fast. Your pics look amazing. Thank you for sharing your diy talents.
Becky! WOW! This is incredible! Seriously! I understand that "nothing ever just works" ever (I am sure others feel the same), which causes me to hesitate. I love your style! Funky eclectic! You've given me ideas... My challenge is, I like too many styles that it is hard to just have one or a few. Sooo! Trying to keep create an all together style that looks cool and not just like a haberdashery exploded!! Classy, yet stylish. Funky and fun! Enjoy your day and have a fantastic weekend!! xxoo
Literally love your DIYS/Makeovers in your home. I think it's your personality, creativity, and how loving/supporting Austin is. You killed this makeover 🔥🙌🏻 loveeeee ❤️
Sooooo good! I was a teenager in the 70's and we had a railing much like that in our house. Your design is impecable; right on point, in every way. The round window is amazing, it gives great character to your house inside and out. I love your approach of form following function. You've spent an minimal amount to get maximum value. Stars on the chart beside your name, for sure!!!
Wow Becky!! Amazing! and I am pausing the video to write that I was thinking the wood railing behind you looked so good, I thought you were going to say, I scrapped the whole thing and hired someone else to do it!! Well done. it looks fabulous. And thank you also for sharing the melt down. I am sorry you had the melt down but so appreciate you sharing.
Oh, how I love that gallery wall!!!!! And the railing!! It all gives me the good, happy chills. The only thing I've noticed on the second watching is that I don't quite like that the walls are white. Together with stained wood, they throw a bit on a farmhouse vibe. But, wow, I want this in my apartment, where I don't even have the stairs. 🥰
Becky and Austin are my favorite!! ALSO! Becky needs to get with another Canadian TH-camr Jenna Phipps about her new abandoned home she just bought! It’s right up Becky’s alley!
Dear Sorry Girls Team, Thank you with my whole heart ❤️ thank you for teaching me that learning and doing new things is not only possible but necessary for Growth and happiness. Thank you for teaching me that guy things girls can also do while still looking like girls. Thank you for everything your channel stands for and more.
Coooooollllll!! I just love that you DID THIS & learned a new skill! I know it was a Ton of work - but so worth it - The front entryway is fantabulous!! Only thing I might could want to add would be like some type of natural fiber runner perhaps??....a little more texture never hurt anyone....right? Lol!! Amazzzinggg as always! And Danni/y is just adorable!
The vibes are indeed immaculate. Your take on a classic gallery wall is much more personal - loving the tame impala album cover hehe, will be hanginf the same one!! Overall Becky, you did so good!! I will never get over the 70’s vibes. You always do it so good
I loved how the two of you put your skills together to create that awesome railing! It came out so well. The way you set up the gallery wall is perfect, too! Well done!
This entryway makes the room. It's going to be the first thing you see every time you come home. Without this change, the other parts of the room always looked a bit off or incomplete. They were lacking that "something", now it all flows beautifully together.
my mom's townhouse from the 60s (i think) has a railing like that but the wood isn't as thick! It turned out amazing! the gallery wall works really well. love the wood tones 🥰 your home is beautiful, the mcm vibes make my heart so happy 🧡💛
Becky, you've outdone yourself. I can't believe you and Austin made your own rail! Really sets the vibe of your home when you walk in 🧡
The talent is shocking!! Gotta love a B + A DIY though 💕
This might seem silly but thank you for including that you’re building up to code!!!! The focus on safety and sustainability always sets TSG apart
you know it!
Fr; I also appreciate that they do land acknowledgements when relevant to their project location!!
@@cncable One of the first videos of theirs I watched did this, and I became a loyal follower right then.
we bought a house 2 years ago that it turns out had a lot of DIY/my friend's a contractor background, and each time we have to get something fixed/updated the professional has been like...wtf happened here, this is not up to code...
I’m a simple girl. I see a video where Austin helps Becky with a project and I click. He’s the best!
Becky, big congrats on an amazing project!
I can't wait for a tour of the whole house once all the renovations are over, it's gonna be so goood! 🙈
I can't wait either 😅
Love that our sorryboy austin supports what u love doing ❤️
Sorryboy!!! Love this
Becky was so cute when she was learning the new skill! She is really great at making you feel like anyone can tackle these kind of DIY projects. THIS TURNED OUT AMAZING!
That's what we aim to do! You can do anything if you put your mind to it 🩷
The matching overalls ❤❤
RIGHT! They are so cute!
A couple of narrow rectangular plant pots filled with trailing plaints on that sliver of flooring under the gallery wall would look nice trailing down the wall.
Really out here setting the tone of DIY. Like who on TH-cam is welding their own bannister 😭😭 Brava Becky

@@ang_131 thanks for the rec!!
I still think your 70's sitcom intro is the best one any of you have had so far 💛
You’re lucky Austin is experienced with construction. He’s a good teacher.
Girl you have mailed the 60's 70's vibe to a tee. I grew up during this time and it looks like my Aunts home in NY.
I was so relieved to see you did the appropriate wood handrail! The right size, the right stain! Way to go! I looked for 3 years for a similar house and was constantly outbid! So we gave up and now I'm living vicariously through you. Ontario real estate sucks!
It's craaay out here 🙃
The Slow Rush Album by Tame Impala is such a vibe. I love that album art so much!
It’s so sweet to see the way Austin empowers you to try new things and helps you when you're struggling without taking over. ❤
Dude!! You totally made a railing!? Amazing🥰
She killed it!!
I just love that I sat down to eat and watch something and couldn’t find anything good. As I was about to give up, this was uploaded 😊 Yay! Excited to see how it turned out!
I just finished it and wow, the railing looks incredible! Also, welding seems so fun. I kind of want to try now 😂
We timed that perfectly 😉🩷
I just watched part one yesterday, so I am thrilled to get the rest of the project today!!
@@TheSorryGirls You sure did 😂 Thank you 💕

That railing! That window! Those lights! 😮 annnddd that Wall!!!!! I love all of it!!!!!
That space is INCREDIBLE!! The railing, the window, the vision… but especially the gallery wall.
Great video Becky. Sharing this project with your very talented husband is a total trip. I always watch Sorry Girls. This is in the top five for sure.
That window is spectacular. And the red abstract art print is gorgeous!
Thank you! You can purchase the digital art on our website!!
Loved this video but I simply adore your home. Thank you to TSG for being exactly who you are and what you do

If I had unlimited funds, I’d so hire Becky to take over & design my whole entire house ❤❤❤
That railing is **amazing**. Nice job! I love the whole corner and it looks like it should have always been that way. Beautiful.
I am totally obsessed with your house! So love midcentury modern forever....even if people say it's out! NEVER!❤🎉😊
I am not a mcm girlie, but holy moly this looks SO good Becky!! Fits you & your home so dang well. I’m so impressed !
BECKY!!!!! My heart goes out to you on this project!!! The railing looks SOOOO SO SO SO GOOOOOOODDDDD!!!!!!!!! you did it girl!!!!!
OMG! You did this! Great work - love seeing Austin and Becky working together!! ❤

Congrats
I just love seeing Becky & Austin’s home transformation! It’s all just SO GOOD!
This staircase is much more Becky approved and the railing will now be know as “The Becky” design! It looks fantastic! Xx

I love it, really, the round window, and new rail. It's groovy baby.
Oh wow, the fact that you simply decided to learn how to weld is so impressive!
This MCM entryway makeover has been my favorite of your series!! It turned out soooo well. It kept me on my toes the entire time too. What a rollercoaster.

Becky, can’t even tell you had any struggles with the railing wood top, it literally looks amazing 🔥👌🏼 Way to stick it out, the results were worth it!
The new railing is soooooo much better! It looks amazing. and the artwork! It gives off cool used music store vibes.
Becky! WOW! This is incredible! Seriously! I understand that "nothing ever just works" ever (I am sure others feel the same), which causes me to hesitate.

That gallery wall is just 🤩🤩🤩. What a statement!
The digital wall art placement planning method! My designer friend and I have been doing this for years and it never lets us down :)
I love it, Becky! I wasn't sure, but you totally rocked this space. Brava!

I love it! I feel like an updated midcentury modern front door and closet door, along with a retro rug would COMPLETE this.
It looks amazing and its suits you and Austin well. Love that you guys are doing these projects together
Great job on the railing. I am in love with that round window ❤
Perfection. No changes. No notes. Onward!
Woman you are super creative and brave! That railing is superb!

This is an absolute triumph, Becky! Congrats!!! Love it.
Major kudos for your welding work. The stair rail looks gorgeous, and the wooden banister is perfect.
Thank you very much!
Epic gallery wall. Your entrance hall is completely changed. It's fabulous!
This entryway makes the room. It's going to be the first thing you see every time you come home. Without this change, the other parts of the room always looked a bit off or incomplete. They were lacking that "something", now it all flows beautifully together.
Love it! So glad you put that ladder away. Now everyone is safe. Now on to the ensuite bathroom.
We are all glad she is done with the ladder 😅
