You forgot about the last line “Wouldn’t the world be a better place if we took non sense more seriously” Also this line doesn’t seem to agree with the story you think the songs about I feel like the songs just about finding an indie band
One of my comfort songs. Even before I was a Tally Hall fan the beautiful voice and the calm vague lyrics that it can be interpreted so differently helped me in so many dark times. Lovely to hear a proper interpretation of these lyrics, Tal
This song was my introduction to TallyHall, how I started playing ukulele, a start of a new friendship (which is platonic, if you’ve listened to my music you’ll know the reference) and one of the first songs I performed publicly 😁
I always interpreted the video as a parallel to the song, everything going swiftly (a possible relationship with sally) until an unexpected thing (another person, or, a bird) ends up sinking the boat. Awesome video ball!!
The ending with the analysis of the music video were my exact thoughts about it! Its so good, its own little story can also tie up to the song’s story too. Like the verse “you told me to by a pony but all i wanted was you” could also mean that a person could say one thing, and appear to have one intention. But in the end all the other person wanted was you. You, the true person you are hidden underneath (the sand).
I remember the first time I actually watched the music video and I was just thinking “oh it’s animated that’s so cool. Aw this is so wholesome wth” and then “OHHH MY GOSH, WHA- OHHHHH MY GOSH- TALLY HALL WHYYYY”
Legend has it if you lay 100 ties in a field forming a circle in the middle of a field, and then scream "TALLYBALL TALLYBALL TALLYBALL" 13 times. Tallyball himself will appear and eat you.
Blood is slightly denser and is approximately three to four times more viscous than water. Blood consists of cells that are suspended in a liquid. As with other suspensions, the components of blood can be separated by filtration. However, the most common method of separating blood is to centrifuge (spin) it. Three layers are visible in centrifuged blood. The straw-colored liquid portion, called plasma, forms at the top (~55%). The buffy coat, a thin cream-colored layer consisting of white blood cells and platelets forms below the plasma, while red blood cells comprise the heavy bottom portion of the separated mixture (~45%). What Is the Volume of Blood? Blood volume is variable but tends to be about 8% of body weight. Factors such as body size, the amount of adipose tissue, and electrolyte concentrations all affect blood volume. The average adult has about 5 liters of blood. What Is the Composition of Blood? Blood consists of cellular material (99% red blood cells, with white blood cells and platelets making up the remainder), water, amino acids, proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, hormones, vitamins, electrolytes, dissolved gasses, and cellular wastes. Each red blood cell is about one-third hemoglobin, by volume. Plasma is about 92% water, with plasma proteins as the most abundant solutes. The main plasma protein groups are albumins, globulins, and fibrinogens. The primary blood gasses are oxygen, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen.
On the titanic, the band played until the boat sunk. In fact, the whole music video was very similar to what happened on the titanic according to survivors. Maybe on some level, the music video is based of real life tragedies. Proves that what the music video displays is true.
I thought it was about a Marriage band (or ring) and the girl fell in love with the ring (and just the guys money in general) but this makes more sense
I've always interpreted "you found a little band" as a wedding band, "you told me you fell in love with it" as in she falls in love with the idea of love and getting married, but not true love or happy marriage
Hi, I'm new in this tally Hall world, I knew the band a long time ago but I didn't pay much attention to them until a few days ago when I started listening to their music. My English is not very good either because I am Mexican but I hope to learn some English with your videos and learn more about tally hall
My personal understanding of the "little band" was like a bracelet band. And the person singing, deliberately placed it there as a surprise. I'm imagining he had it all planned and placed it in the sand with the intention of "accidentally" finding it and giving it to the girl. But the girl found it first, and thought of it as a random band. Hence "hadn't gone as I planned". And the end versed audio "Wouldn't things be better if we took things less seriously" (or something among those lines) was meant to meant to reflect on the actions of the person singing. ... I think.
Hey tallyball I want your opinion about something. Is it at all possible that Fate of the Stars might have been a beta/prototype version of Dream Sweet in Sea Major that was scrapped for something more connected to the rest of Hawaii part II?
a lot of people do think that, and i see where they’re coming from. the themes do match. i don’t think fate of the stars fits the story of hawaii part ii, but i do think similar ideas were there that couldn’t be fully realised in just one song.
@@tallyballYT I’ve never heard anyone else talk about that🤔 But yeah I was thinking of it more as a prototype rather that an actual version of DSiSM because the themes don’t fully line up, but I think it might have been a test to see if they could do a song like that. That’s why I think that the entirety of tally hall was credited with DSiSM, because I doubt even a musical genius like Joe Hawley could write something like that first try.
I mean Tyla's theory about the rubber band makes sense if you just think enough about it. What animation style is the music video based on? That's right, *rubber*hose! *rubber*band, BOOM!
Maybe the band is a wedding band, or ring. She values marriage, but he's scared of the commitment. So while he still wants to be with her and tries to "fall in love" with the idea, she feels their life goals don't align and eventually decides to leave and give up on love entirely.
I thought Sally here found a ‘wedding band’ as in a ring, which Marvin had planted there as a way to propose but she simply became obsessed with the object rather than the giver.
I think I prefer the interpretation that Sally finds some passion/interest (likely music) and chooses to pursue it over Marvin Marvin tries to be supportive and go along wherever she does, but Sally can tell it’s forced and tries to encourage him to find something else to make him happy (buy a pony)
I kinda saw it as the opposite before this video. I thought the band was a wedding band and that the love interest wanted to get married but that the singer wasn’t ready for that but wanted to go through with it anyway, a choice that later broke down the relationship.
