- Welcome to Tally Hall! Our members are Rob Cantor, Zubin Sedghi, Andrew Horowitz, Joe Hawley, Ross Federman, and Bora Karaca (sorta). I'm explaining everything. From the band's collegiate origins to Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum to Good & Evil and Beyond! Here's everything to know about Tally Hall in just 13 minutes. Did I miss some stuff? Probably! Intriguing. I currently enjoy tally hall yet I haven't found a Weezer song to hold my attention for more than a few seconds.
Perhaps if I listened longer I would enjoy them but none have intrigued me enough within the first few seconds.

I was ecstatic to learn that the Whale was behind Hawaii part II, It was like discovering a new hidden Tally Hall album.
I once saw them described as “Weezer if Neil Cicierega wrote all their music” and tbh I’ve never fully recovered from that

When I was a child, Neil Cicierega shaped my childhood with Harry Potter Puppet Pals. Months ago, I was exposed to Weezer through Buddy Holly memes. One week ago I started listening to Tally Hall genuinely, something more than having written a song from a meme. I've spent the last week of my life hyperfixated on Neil for no good reason. I found your comment and wrote this at the peak of an edible on my first day taking antidepressants. I move onward with my life.

as someone who got into band in their middle school years, I always wondered but never researched what ever happened to them (scared of the worst, them turning out to be like the old minecraft youtubers) so it's genuinely relieving and heartwarming to see a peaceful parting before their hibernation. Even more relieving that they made it through the mega-sick arc part 1923847138947 of Earth. So here's to a peaceful sleep, wake up well rested and joyful, whenever that may be.

To be honest I’ve had “the bidding” in my playlist for like two years now only just recently did I think of listening to other songs by Tally Hall to think I missed out on being a trend setter is sad

I'm in the same boat. Knew of and played Banana Man for years, never thought to look into Tally Hall. Only knew them as "The band the guy who made Shia LaBeouf used to be in" and now, years later, they're one of my favourite bands. It's crazy how perceptions of things change
The first song I was introduced to was Turn The Lights Off. I think that was in 2015? Maybe? I don’t even remember where I heard it from. I was also listening to Marianna’s Trench, I loved a lot of their songs.
I liked Tally Hall before it was cool...but then I was happy it started to get popular so I could actually enjoy it with other people lol. I was not a trend setter, just a hipster.
I always thought some of the vocals in Good Day sounded like Ringo Starr, but who knew it would be better associated with a John Lennon scholarship of all things.

the whistling on hymn for a scarecrow is in fact incredibly important; also turn the lights off went viral on tumblr a few years ago because it was used in a five nights at freddy's animatic, so it was definitely big before tiktok
It would be incredibly neat if the next tally hall album starts with a music box rendition of 13 to give a reference to it's recent unprecedented spike in popularity.
I saw someone else saying they should release a song called "Welcome Back to Tally Hall" as their first song of their return, and I think that would fit better their style

Love that I came across this. My Tally Hall experience was discovering Banana Man on TH-cam a few years ago and falling absolutely in love, listening to the rest of their work afterwards. Honestly, I didn't know Tally Hall's music. I watched your previous video "The elaborate story behind the Shia LaBeouf live" and I learned a lot about Rob Cantor.
This new video about Tally Hall is perfect for people like me who is learning about the band for the first time. I listen Banana Man this morning, and I think is a great song with a super funny rhythm. I plan to listen the rest of their discography as well.

Became a fan after ruler of everything, and have become a big fan over the last year.
tiktok is a great example of a band coming back. there was this super small band called hot freaks i listend too for a long while and out of know-where their single puppy princess was all over tiktok, and the band noticed and took advantage of that and are releasing new singles now!

I love Tally Hall's music. It's so catchy, that after so many years, I still find myself humming Banana man, that is why I'm not surprised about their success in Tik Tok.
I can't remember exactly where and what, but in a video where two members of tally hall (I wanna say Andrew and rob?) Spoke to eachother for a charity fundraiser or something said that they should 'play together again when they're all really old.' doesn't promise anything, but I thought it was something cool to think about. Whether tally hall comes back or not, Ill still love all of their musics.

there actually were youtube videos based for the top three songs you mentioned. i found tallyhall through a five nights at freddy's video in maybe 2014, for turn the lights off, and found the two others out of said top three through youtube videos as well. tiktok did play a massive part in sharing their music but not in a way that lasted like youtube's impact. in short, tiktok reaches a wider range for a briefer period.
also, i had no idea joe did hawaii pt2, that's one thing i found from tiktok relating to them lol. its very neat seeing how they spread all over the internet in different ways and still make a dent

wow, this is some news. MY dad passed away in 2017 and i accidentally came across tally hall. i listened to their album on repeat, non stop for all of 2018 and still continued to listen to their music just as religiously throughout. Ruler of everything being my favorite song, ever. Its crazy to have been a tiny part of that cult.. lol

I knew most of the info, but not quite all of it, because I got weezer jumpscared. 13/13 regardless since knowing things didn't take away from the experience at all! tally hall is one of my favorite bands/music artists, all of their music is awesome, so I enjoy pretty much any content shedding light on them. like, taken for a ride? fate of the stars? misery fell? good day?
