      Intriguing. I currently enjoy tally hall yet I haven't found a Weezer song to hold my attention for more than a few seconds.
      Perhaps if I listened longer I would enjoy them but none have intrigued me enough within the first few seconds.
      I'll investigate this matter further on later date.

      When I was a child, Neil Cicierega shaped my childhood with Harry Potter Puppet Pals. Months ago, I was exposed to Weezer through Buddy Holly memes. One week ago I started listening to Tally Hall genuinely, something more than having written a song from a meme. I've spent the last week of my life hyperfixated on Neil for no good reason. I found your comment and wrote this at the peak of an edible on my first day taking antidepressants. I move onward with my life.

Even one of their (arguably) weirdest song, banana man, talks about a deeper topic. I just love it so much and want more music from them, but after finding out that two of them are doctors and one has a kid I don’t think it will happen but I am less sad now knowing that the members are all doing well and I hope are happy still what could have been?

    It’s funny, all of the bands that the members helped make separately were bands I also listen to, I didn’t even know that they were once part of tally hall, which explains why I naturally just found them, and listened to them

    also worth saying, the tally hall wikia isn't exactly a trustworthy source, as it has rarely been updated since 2006 :P the tally hallmanac has been receiving constant updates but as of late it and HITS have been taken down for the time being

    • @MarcButEvil
      @MarcButEvil  2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      I mostly used web archives of the Tally Hallmanac and interviews for the video. Thank god I did too! It replaced a lot of the shoddy information I got the from the wikia in my first draft.

      also the reason good & evil came out in 2011 instead of 2010 is that atlantic didn't feel it fit their label (i guess thats label speak for "it isnt pop music/profitable") and both agreed to go their separate ways, atlantic also didn't communicate with tally hall well

    Tally Hall became one of my most favorite bands quite recently and this is probably the best video explaining them that I could find. It's short, simple, and it keeps my attention throughout the video. The editing and timing of the music was great as well.

    I still haven’t gotten around to most of their songs, but I know Turn The Lights Off, Ruler of Everything, Misery Fell, &, and The Mind Electric and they all make me so happy
    Thanks for this video, I usually feel bad because I’ll be a huge fan of a band like AJR or whatever but know nothing about them

    Love that I came across this. My Tally Hall experience was discovering Banana Man on TH-cam a few years ago and falling absolutely in love, listening to the rest of their work afterwards. I love hearing their story, and had absolutely no idea Rob Cantor of Shia Lebouf fame was a member. Well edited and scripted content man

    I've always been intrigued by the band because of my proximity to them. I live less than 10 minutes away from Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum which was really nice a couple years ago, but it's now more or less an arcade with only some of the personality it once had.

    I can't remember exactly where and what, but in a video where two members of tally hall (I wanna say Andrew and rob?) Spoke to eachother for a charity fundraiser or something said that they should 'play together again when they're all really old.' doesn't promise anything, but I thought it was something cool to think about. Whether tally hall comes back or not, Ill still love all of their musics.

    there actually were youtube videos based for the top three songs you mentioned. i found tallyhall through a five nights at freddy's video in maybe 2014, for turn the lights off, and found the two others out of said top three through youtube videos as well. tiktok did play a massive part in sharing their music but not in a way that lasted like youtube's impact. in short, tiktok reaches a wider range for a briefer period.
    also, i had no idea joe did hawaii pt2, that's one thing i found from tiktok relating to them lol. its very neat seeing how they spread all over the internet in different ways and still make a dent
